I love the idea but I have some questions. Why not use {Rampant Growth} and [Into the North] to ramp lands onto the field instead of just to hand and occasionally to both? Or {Cultivate} and [Kodama’s Reach]? They would ramp you faster. I also recommend {Crop Rotation} to get out world tree faster.

I love pauper commander and I wanted to build every knight from ELD. I recommend a [Library of Leng] or [Thought Vessel] to unlimit your hand size. Can I understand what your build’s focus is? I built a Pauper Syr Carah deck that I would like for you to view if possible. https://www.mtgvault.com/clearo/decks/impulsive-burn-pauper-edh/

So I was definitely inspired partly by your turn zero deck, and I did want to make it legal, but I figured since it’s abysmal odds regardless then it’s better to just fill out the deck with the two combos I knew with whatever feel card draw I could manage. Noxious revival and the bauble are just filler for the serum. I don’t know any more free spells or card draw that isn’t restricted or banned.

I also recommended balancing your lands to have more Plains and less Swamps to reflect your mana base

Maybe run 4 of {Beaming Defiance} and {Pressure Point}. {Beaming Defiance} pumps and protects your creatures while {Pressure Point} taps down a blocker and replaces itself. I would put up your creatures by putting up your pump creatures like {Leonin Lightscribe}, {Eager First-Year} and {Silverquill Apprentice} to keep pressure. You don’t need 4 of Killian, but keep at least 2 for consistency. Drop {Firja, Judge of Valor} and add {Lurrus the Dreamden} because that would just power your deck’s consistency. You can put your removal spells to 4 like {Humiliate} and {Heartless Act} because they are versatile. Maybe keep this more aggro midrange. You can keep the {Eyetwitch} if you want the Learn effects, but drop some of the less effective tap or removal spells {Study Break} and {Iron Verdict} because they won’t help push through as often.

I like the idea of this deck, but I think it needs more creatures. Also you might not need all four copies of Killian because he’s fairly easy to cast and becomes a dead card in hand after you play him. You need more creatures so you have something to target with your pump spells, and maybe run more protection pumps as well so they aren’t as prone to removal.

I added the tag. I can’t wait to see what all comes out for MH2. I’ll definitely tune up this deck once it does and try it out. It looked fun.

Those would speed up the deck considerably with draw attached, but I might make a separate deck with your suggestion instead because this one was built towards budget as well. I really like those looting effects though.

I believe in you. Four cards is great but with the great distortion you can set yourself up to draw 4+ cards to refill your hand when he’s your commander. So if you play out all your mana rocks and creature spells, then cast him as your commander, you refill back to 7 instead of 4. Still love the build.

Thank you, I did not know it was banned. I’ll make adjustments, but the monkey was the most optimal...

Why not use [Kozilek, the Great Distortion] over butcher of truth as your commander? It has a better built in protection and butcher works better in the 99. Great deck otherwise. There are a few more cards I could recommend but I don’t if you have any limitations towards your build.

So I made a deck around [Exhume] by pitching creatures with Dredge and discard effects and using dragon aspect auras. The biggest weakness I found is the weakness to removal and counterspell. If they kill your creature, it’s a setback. If you get [Exhume] countered, it sets you back, and if they exile your graveyard, then you have to scoop. I’m thinking to run counterspells to keep the creatures on board. Though I love your concept of pitching creatures with cycling because it’s instant speed and can’t be countered. Great deck!

I got a lot of feedback to consider and my friend is a bit new to magic in general so I think the shell is good but I can still use your ideas to improve it towards the sideboard if they run into other threats and keep it competitive. I really appreciate the feedback!

That makes sense.. I thought [Relic of Progenitus] only did my opponent’s graveyard but now that you’ve pointed it out then I might go for the spell bomb. Thanks again!

I like [Firebrand Archer]] over [Brimstone Trebuchet] for damage. I used the trebuchet for synergy as an artifact and against flying, but getting damage through is superior.

I’d make a separate deck to do the U/R Nettle Helix combo. I’d have to change too much from the original idea to make it fit in here and I want this mono red to keep it simple and streamlined. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Maybe, but I’ll leave that to anyone who wants to play this deck in other formats. This deck is focused in Pauper because I love pauper, and it’s budget friendly. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I’ll add [[Lonely Sandbar]] over [[Mystic Sanctuary]] and sideboard [[Relic of Progenitus]] for graveyard recursion. If I counterspell the recursion spells then it helps, but I might run more enchantments for mill. I don’t want to dip into multiple colors even though I know U/B is the powerful mill combo because I’m keeping it simple for a friend to get into Pauper. Thanks for the feedback!

I might do [[Jace’s Erasure]] because it’s more consistent with the deck and run more draw spells. I like the counterspell+mill because it’s a pauper deck so the threat pool to mill is minimal. Thank you!

My mistake. So {{Gigapede}} is slow because you have to wait until your upkeep to discard cards to the graveyard, while {{Phantasmagorian}} you can discard at instant speed including another {{Phantasmagorian}} to get it back to hand, and you can get rid of 3 cards instead of just one. {{Gigapede}} can be included in as a alternative for budget, but the main deck is pretty hardline with creature effects.

I really like this deck, but I would like to provide feedback as a hopeful means to improve this deck because of my love for pauper formats:
1: There are two copies of [[Cosmotronic Wave]]
2: You might want to increase your number of creatures or have a way to produce creatures so you always have a target for your equipment or auras. ie [[Golem Foundry]], [[Empty the Warrens]] or [[Molten Birth]]
3: I suggest you focus on a more equipment style voltron build and keep less enchantments to keep a good shell in case they run a decent amount of spot removal.
4: If you do what I suggested above, only run the more impactful or reusable enchantments and not just ones to pump. ie [[Claws of Valakut]], [[Granite Grip]], [[Fiery Mantle]] and [[Crown of Flames]].
5: Utilize more low CMC cantrips/impulse draw/rummage to refuel your hand. preferably ones that also target your creatures and cut back on the one-and-done pump spells as they don't make much impact to the board in commander. However, some can be utilized to draw cards.
6: Run at least one other boardwipe like [[Swirling Sandstorm]] becuase there aren't a lot of them in pauper, so having one can be a saving grace in your deck.
7: Run more utility artifacts for card draw or card selection (ie Scry or rummage).

You can do all or none of what I suggest (but please listen to t least the first one) and I still think this looks good. It seems really fun and I might actually build it. Keep on brewing!
