I wasn't sure how good he was in modern. I know he's excellent in legacy, since he's a turn 1 drop with ancient tomb.

I would then replace divination with magma jet. It's more creature control with scry 2. I think that would help you more if you're seeing a lot of creatures.
Sideboard pithing needle, simic charm, and plummet(relevent against stormbreath)You should run 4 of everything you need for your combo, 4 arcanists, 4 tactics.-1 opportunity -1 dissolve, +1 arcanist and +1 Tactics. Are you seeing more control or creature decks?
Anytime, sorry for the half rant about meta gaming and such.
Lifegain for Archangel trigger or Card draw advantage or creature control. Hard to go wrong with it.
Agreed. Also, if you're seeing mostly creatures, Azorious Charm. It's a must.
Purphoros+Master of Waves=death.
I'll trade you. Anytime. I see nothing but blue white control with the rare appearance of red green monsters.I also see Architect of Thought more than any other planeswalker.
The current standard metagame is all control and removal, with the exception of red green monsters. Which is why I find the current standard fnm boring as hell, I know what I'm going to play against all night and I can't stand going to time on games I might win. Nor can I stand to play the current meta decks because they always go to time.I mean this deck seems to be a bit more fun than most of the bant I've seen, since it only has elements of control, but mostly all I see all night is sphinx's rev, elspeth's, aetherlings and sometimes brimaz if they're playing r/w/u control.http://www.mtgvault.com/couch312/decks/trolololololololol/ This is the deck I'll be running this friday, I'm not confident in winning, but I might be able to aggro out some control decks.
You could try Karametra over Elspeth, since Karametra combos very nicely with Courser.
Deathrite is ridiculously good. There's a reason it's banned in modern and seeing legacy play.
Since it can stop any planeswalker, deathrite shaman and aetherling? Yes.
That I don't know. To me, double strike just means double damage, I'm not sure if that means he damages the opponent two seperate times since it's still the same attack.
Sideboard pithing needle?
Yes, Aurelia causes Medomai to produce more turns.
I would say sideboard assemble the legion and legion's initiative, and rather than council and ajani adding some more early game aggro, to pressure your opponents, maybe boros elite or wojek halbediers?Oh, pithing needle is a must sideboard.
Have you thought about Courser of Kruphix over Centaur Healer?
If the meta you're facing is all red aggro, thoughts on gyre sage? Since dropping a single corpsejack would give you a 3/4 that taps for two mana. A decent early defender with ramping ability.
I honestly don't know, I run legacy affinity. I ran myr retriever when it was standard and it was amazing at the time. I figured it might be a great way to get back overseer or etched if the opponent abrupt decays it or counters etched. Double blue shouldn't be a problem for you if you have 1 blue source and a springleaf. The only reason I mention broodstar is because you're on a budget, as I'm sure you know there are plenty of better options.
I was about to suggest ancient tomb and then remembered this deck is modern and on a budget. What are your thoughts on Myr Retriever?Broodstar does have affinity, so if you have four or five artifacts out (not that difficult in affinity decks) he's not a terrible drop.Spellpierce would make a good sideboard, and possibly ethersworn canonist? Although the canonist kinda breaks the budget.
