earthquake isnt as effective against zoo because it drops such large creatures faster than he would get the mana to kill them. other achetypes he might stand a better chance against, depending on if they have an answer to red or damage mitigation of some kind. the main reason its a bad idea is because he doesnt have any protection from attacking creatures. he is completely reliant on doing such fast damage that if he hurts himself too much he could fall victim to a sudden large hit, ESPECIALLY if the other person has ANY kind of buff for creatures. 2 giant growths on something with haste spells trouble if your life is low. correllating this to my infect deck, with the right cards you can do well over 10-15 damage in a single attack, and if you hurt yourself right before they pull a stunt like that, then you basically pave the way to an easy win for them. if you want a better alternative to earthquake, go with Bonfire of the Damned. If you can cast it for its miracle cost, then you are in business

update to that. the reason i went with deflection is because it protects me, while acolyte's reward does not. had to reread the cards
all good bro. happens to all of us at one point or another
plus cloudscraper wouldnt get the buff. he has an upkeep effect
i wanted to keep the creatures as cheap casts, since muraganda and ascension will make them plenty beefy
skullbriar, the walking grave
love kaervek. always wanted to run him, but so expensive to play >.<
det sphere only works on whats already out. if he gets more after the fact his opponenet would need another det sphere
i originally had it in here but i went with divine deflection because i still had ajani in the deck. now though i might try and find some wiggle room for it. thanks for reminding me!
there is. its called goblin bombardment. sadly it is legacy though
earthquake doesnt fit here at all. this deck is all about throwing creatures into the other players face after attacking with them, plus earthquake would hurt him too. you shouldnt use cards that can cause you problems unless you can either recover from the damage or it is an absolute necessity.
exactly. thats why you try to exile their creature on their turn, not yours
not with spirit of the labyrinth out. if you exile it on their turn then they wont get the draw. if you do it on yours then yes, they would get a single card instead of 2
yes indeed. i got 2 triads on prerelease for theros. they were most useful rofl
you put the counter on the creature you wish to exile on their turn immediately following yours, then it untaps on your turn and you exile it.
This is the ruling on Gatherer. Dx is right. it works. If the target player has no land cards in his or her library, all cards from that library will be revealed and put into his or her graveyard.
yeah 1 or 2 really does help. they work best when you have small fries that give you lots of devotion for cheap, but make due with what you got. i run them in my legacy vampires and by turn 4 im tapping for about 12 black devotion easy
thats fine. what about nykthos though? that would help with mana fixing
is assemble the legion even necessary in here? its so out of place. i get that you can use champion of stray souls with it, but thats about it. i would say cut it for something more useful, like grey merchant since your mana base is skewed heavily towards black. also in that regard, nykthos is a must since it will help out with paying for champions abilities
seems like a bit of a waste overall to me :/
