Yarok vs. Field if the Dead is finally catching on after Jeff Hoogland has published it. I'd been exploring Rife's land gather ability too - ever since I saw this overpowered dude in spoilers... ___Some reasoning for card choises:*3 Cavalier of Thorns: without Nexus or Jayce (who is a bit heavy on the mana with his tripple blue) his mill, especially later with Yarok, tends to mill yourself out.*Golos, Tireless Pilgrim bascially the replacement and also lategame payoff*Muldrotha: basically the very late game payoff.*Omnath just to strong as a removal Elemental. Don't want to run too much red though*Karn: try him out! Why has he been forgotten. He wins games on his own. Getting graveyard hate, life gain, a destruction spell or card advantage what ever silver bullet you need.*Reliquary Tower okay a bit funny agreed. 4 Field of the Dead was to much for me. Too many triggers and often 2 on the start hand kept me from getting 7 lands in time. Reliquary Tower is an untapped version which save a lot of time if you go off with Rife and don't want o make choices what to discard on end step... :)
Basically skip your odd cmc and just castT1 Grazer T2 Risen Rief T3 Yarok - profitTurn 3 Yarok is just a lot for most decks to handle.Karn sees to little play in BO1. He can get so many useful artifacts from the sideboard.
