The issue is that the deck is designed to win by milling the opponent.
I like and support Sorin and his decks. I even suggested this deck to be built.
However, if it can not win by milling 7 out of 10 times...than it may be considered not completely successful.
Do not mean to ruin anyone's buzz, though.

And you are right...TotalBoss.
Does seem redundant to mill them, gain them life, mill them, gain them life.

The very first deck I played after not playing Magic for 9 years was a Mill deck.
I did not even know what the hell he was doing.
Hell, I even played Howling Mine and hurt myself while he milled my deck away.
And you are right...pure mill like Tome Scour and Mind Sculpt is the best.
Needless to say he beat me.

But I can't say if the deck works good or not.
I can only point out why some people might complain.

Goblin Guide?

I am making a white version of mill with Mindcrank.
The main flaw of Mindcrank seems to be the fact that the person runs out of 20 life before he runs out of 60 cards.
I believe that can be offset with stuff like Wall of Shards.
Even as you damage them and mill them you are giving back to them life.

Or Graceful Antelope.
I know Landwalkers is boring and been done to death.
But she is such a neat little creature!! The built in ability to permanently change a land is very strong!
Consider Tabernacle, Coffers, Cradle all turned into a Plains by a cute little Antelope.

Every once in awhile I give out half way decent advice.

No...this is one of those decks where I quickly threw it together and stopped (sadly) thinking about it because it did not overly interest me.

There. It now has 51 out of the 60 cards in the deck.
Mind taking another look and seeing what I might need to add?

Mortal Combat is fun.

And going green...and keeping with new cards, Frontier Siege.
Frontier Siege and Assault of the Dragons could be fun.
Or Outpost Siege when the Goblins leave play.

Sorry...I meant as a Casual Player.
Yes, for Modern Tourneys pure burn is better than mill.
For a Modern kitchen table deck the Bloodchief deck is neat.

And that is why I suggested, to the good sir, to do a red/black Mindcrank deck with Bloodchief Ascension :)

Interesting, you mean you do not think he could do enough damage to mill the opponent out of cards.

If that is true...which it may be...I know of a card that would be very nice.
Eidolon of the Great Revel.
It makes it to where you do not need to do 50ish points with only your cards.
Your opponent would essentially mill himself every time he played a spell for 3 mana or under.

And Whitelord has a good plan too. If the small direct damage can't manage 50ish points of burn...why not a big fatty like Ball Lightning?

If only Mindcrank exchanged damage for mill. If instead of Lightning Bolt doing 3 damage and milling 3 cards...if it only milled the 3 cards...that would be swell.

It would be insane...and probably easier ways to do it...but it would be neat if you somehow made the opponent gain life. Mill, gain life, mill, gain life, mill, gain life.

Mtgvault does not have the card list available...that is why I do not have my deck up.
It is mainly the rough plan/idea.
Sorry.
I need to go ahead and make most of the deck minus the new cards.

I agree with you.

And that is why I am on this site soooo much!
It is my Magic Outlet.

Mind checking this one out?
It has spoilers for new Dragons of Tarkir!
In particular the nasty combo of Dragon Tempest and Assault of the Dragons

That does seem to be the downfall...that most of the time you will burn them before they ever get milled out. But it is neat...sorta like 2 Win conditions in one deck. And 2 Win Cons is never a bad thing.

I have been talking to others. Thaumaturge is neat.
I am thinking going red and green.
Green because stuff like Llanowar Elves and Birds of Paradise will speed up my mana AND can be sacked to make 4/4 flying haste dragons.

Thinking Turn 4 win.
Modern
When is Dragons of Tarkir officially releasing on mtgvault?
I always like to be one of the first people before I look like I copied ideas, you know?

Or Blue...what about something like Battlefield Thaumaturge? It would lower Assault mana cost and could provide counter/control aspect of the deck.

I do think you are right with little room for disruption..so speed that green mana ramp would provide might be best.

Thanks!!

I want to post it the first day Dragons of Tarkir is put on mtgvault.
