I have a question about rules.

Basically wanting to build a Searing Meditation deck.
Cards in question are:
Sun Droplet and Nyx-Fleece Ram.
At the beginning of my upkeep I have Searing Meditation in play and gain a life via Sun Droplet and Nyx-Fleece Ram.
Searing Meditation says for me to pay 2 mana and I can deal 2 damage to opponent creature or player.

Question: Do I have to immediately pay that 2 mana or do I get to untap my lands first?
I mean...it is suppose to be 1. Untap 2. Upkeep 3. Draw
So I get to untap my lands first, right?

Thanks Griffin!
Maybe other people will support it too.

Maybe.
Mana cost is sorta high. I want to win by the time she would usually start working.
And my opponent will get to see my cards with Enduring Renewal...meaning they will see it coming and will nuke it asap.
I have Gather the Townsfolk.
Opponent is more likely to let me have that card. Not counter or nuke it.

And over the last year I sorta got burnt out on trying to make killer decks.
I...somewhere...went from being a Spike to being a Johnny player.
Now I take pride in making Themed Decks, Unique decks, etc etc.

So an average player in your group is an above average player everywhere else.
You would beat my butt!

You are average in your group.
But from I sense of your group, they are an above average group of players.
Most people I ever played were people who played cheap Kitchen Table decks.

Have you tried Cockatrice?
I think that is the name of it.
It is free.
But you have to use backdoor entry points and it keeps getting shut down because you don't pay for the cards.
Lots of people use it on here.
And you would probably beat the pants off me if we ever played!!!

We probably should :)
I am a computer novice though.
Not sure how to set it up or how to go through the steps.
I am dumb.

High Tide for mana ramp is always nice.
Having 6 mana on the 4th turn grants you speed!!
+1

There you go good sirs.
Does it work?

http://www.mtgvault.com/jessie/decks/mono-white-infinite-mill/

Step 1. Myr Moonvessel
Step 2. Grinding Station
Step 3. Enduring Renewal

Keep sacking the Myr moonvessel to Grinding station.
Each time opponent mills 3 cards.
Enduring Renewal brings back Myr moonvessel to your hand.
You replay Myr Moonvessel with the one mana you got when he was originally sacked.
When Myr Moonvessel hits the table Grinding Station untaps.
Repeat the process!!!

Works, right?

Mono-white mill has to be about as great as a Mono-Green burn deck.

I still say go the long route and make it white and Mindcrank.
Stuff like silly Wall of Shards. Make them keep gaining life as their cards dwindle.
And you hide behind protection. Very slow.
Issue would be how to pull off the damage though.

Yes, with blue and stuff like Clever Impersonator and Copy Artifact.
But if you are already using blue...there are better options than Mindcrank.
