I was thinking of building a deck like this, but I have no scepters. Add Luminarch Ascension (thanks, Zendikar and MTG.com) to make things really funny

To smooth out the mana, add Knotvine Mystic (or in extended, I think Skyshroud Elf still can be used, don't kill me if it isn't legal)
One thing: Be careful with Chalice and picking the mana cost you want to shut down, as nowadays in Extended, a Boomerang, a Path, a Deny Reality or a Man'-o-War can "return" Marit Lage to your hand, thus making it disappear altogether (not to mention an Act of Treason or Slave of Bolas can take it and beat you to death with it). Otherwise, good job.
you should main-deck 4 ram-gangs, and the sarkhan vol. Ball LIghtnings wouldn't hurt to cascade into, either.
If you're going to run 5-color slivers, you need 4 gemhides.
Two words: Grimoire Thief. Combine that with the Drowner of Secrets to slowly remove three cards from the game a turn in addition to the amount that hits the grave yard.
if you're running punishing fire, then pick up a few grove of the burnwillows. Grove lets you add R or G to your mana pool while each opponent gains 1 life. This allows you to return punishing fire to your hand.
I thought about building this deck, but didn't know about the llanowar mentors. I definitely need to finish that deck now. +1
As for the Bridge, I always have a few lands in hand, thanks to the Borderpost ability. As long as I draw until I'm ready, i should be fine.
Nick, i never said I created this deck all by myself. But it is a deck that needs to e seen in action by more than just us faithful few that read the past columns. And by posting this deck, it could cause you to look at my other decks...
a merfolk mill with no grimoire thief?
grimoire thief + drowner of secrets = mill power
instead of kismet, try frozen aether for monocolored blue
If you're planning on Guile to win, then hope your opponents don't chump block until you die... I agree that your artifacts don't provide anything helpful except a few points of life. A red burn deck could give you problems. Maybe some flying creatures (Air Elemental for starters) or bouncing creatures(Man-O-War, Waterfront Bouncer) could help...check my decks and comment
beacon of tomorrows + panoptic mirror = infinite turns for decking opponents
love this Erayo-Lab combination...almost as much as Panoptic Mirror-Exhaustion:
No Bramblewood Paragons? They would be perfect as all of your Elves qualify as Warriors as well...
nice...same premise as my blue rejection deck, except instead of stealing and copying creatures, I remove decks...
