Um, I think your trying to sacrifice indestructible creatures to outlets and not have them die? If so, that doesn't work, the indestructible creature will still go to the graveyard instead of remaining in play.

Will do. Though I don't see him too often. I'll be sure to tell him next time ^^

I know MetaSavant IRL and he would be tickled to know somebody was inspired by him.

Hey, it's a colorless bomb that gives everything indestructibility, and more than once. It fits in every deck. lol. Especially one like this that wins through creatures. There are other bomb options out there, but this one is also a contender.

Your actually doing pretty well for a first deck. Mixing strategies such is fine in my book, as long as you have them balanced well. The only thing I don't like here is Waste Not. It's a dandy card on it's own but it requires a deck to build around it, and this one just doesn't have enough. With only 8 discard outlets and 2 of Waste not itself, it just doesn't seem worth it.

Other than that, your doing a great job. Best way to fine tune a deck is to play with it constantly and determine what is and isn't really useful to you and try to switch it up accordingly. Best of luck to you!

A few things. I love mill, especially in modern with Archive Trap and fetches. Unfortunately, your going pure mill with a Surgical Extraction. Going pure mill is meh, but what's really the point of exiling a few things unless it's combo decks? At that point it should be a sideboard if anything. I'd replace them with Thoughtscour. Never underestimate the power of "draw a card".

Personally, I'd rather run control with a subtheme of mill as a wincon. Lists like these have no way to protect themselves who stabilize the board, which is why I dislike them.

On top of those points, you only have 58 cards. You may also want to look into the card Nephalia Drownyard. It can mill 3 every turn if you run out of steam.

I... actually really enjoy this. I don't know why it just looks right.

I'd take out x2 Inquisition of Kozilek for 2 more Lingering Souls though. The souls are too much value out of one card, especially when rolling with the soul sisters.

I also think I would rather run Lord of Innistrad over Solemn Visitor. Lord of Innistrad protects himself and stabilizes after board sweeps whereas Solemn Visitor is more reliant in already possessing hordes of creatures to swing with since I doubt you would want to swing with your sisters or Confidant.

Its standard.

On top of that, Anger of the Gods seems extremely counter productive here. I'd rather run something like Obelisk of Urd.

While I'm against Zurgo in highly competitive play, being a measly dollar doesn't mean he's bad. He's just been printed too much with duel decks and isn't used by professionals who, unfortunately, get their decklists copied from lower level players. He isn't a bad card, he's the best 5 drop at a dollar.

It really just depends on the meta. Yes, he is a good card but who doesn't have removal for him? Red has basic burns, black has kill cards, white has plenty of exile, and blue has some control aspects I'm sure it can find a way. (That 2 drop enchantment that taps it down or whatever) It's really just reliant on how much and what type of removal you have at your lgs. I had him dropped on me against my Sultai deck, and he was extremely menacing, but I just kept chump blocking until I drew a Murderous Cut.

Another problem with Zurgo is his mana cost. There's just too many good slots at 5 drops such as Stormbreath Dragon, Sarkhan, Sorin, and to a lesser extent Wingmate Roc. Why would I choose a guy who's big with no evasion over something like these other bombs?

Hey! You need to bring this to FNM this friday. Jacob, Joe, Wesley, Daniel, and I are all going.

EDIT: and possibly Odie and Ethan. But I'm not gonna promise that.

I'm a tad bit late to the party but I run a similar deck and it is actually more resilient than it seems to removal. You can save that single creature with specific cards like God's Willing, Ajani's Presence, or Feat of Resistance. Atop of that, with the amount of scry and draw that is in this deck, it's actually not hard to bounce back if a single creature dies. I don't see it being top tier, but it's definitely a nifty little deck for cheap.

I have a similar deck, but I removed the Hero of Bladeholds for Celestial Crusaders or Angel of Jubilation because the Hero just died too often without being able to do anything.

Also, no Intangible Virtue? Your a token deck, that's pretty much THE card to be running.

Have you considered something like Exsanguinate? You could easily pump mana into it. Even if you don't kill instantly, the life gain advantage will allow you plenty of time to build up for your next spell.

Are you planning on updating this to standard, keeping it modern, or just trying to stay RTR standard legal?

Dedwards is right, it needs hexproof. Cards like Slippery Bogle and Gladecover Scout are necessities because of the hexproof ability. On top of that your going to want to run Totem Armor to avoid any mishaps you may run into. A lot of these decks also run some form of draw such as Snake Umbra and Keen Sense because your probably going to empty your hand quick. Lastly, the biggest bomb in auras is Daybreak Coronet if you can afford it.
