How to Play

Inspired by... Inspired by... Well, this is awkward... I can't remember who inspired me with this deck! Can someone help me remember? I just remember of talking about this build in one deck... But I can't find the deck now! Or remember what it was!

Well... However this deck tries to finish off your opponent by using Grimgrin's awesome abilities! Make him super strong, and then go in for kill.
-Gravecrawler is your commander's best friend. Their relationship becomes even better with Rooftop Storm. Infinite counters? Yes please!
-When Grimgrin has became powerful enough, he needs to get trough your opponent's defenses somehow... Whispersilk Cloak, Rogue's Passage, Neurok Invisimancer, Aqueous Form and Artful Dodge will all help.
-Cards like Harvester of Souls, Murder of Crows, Deathgreeter, Blood Artist, Falkenrath Noble, Dark Prophecy and many others will take all out of your dying creatures.

Deck discussion for Budget EDH: Grimgrin

Minion Reflector is a relatively cheap ways to get reusable sacrifice fodder. Mimic Vat, too, though it's two bucks and not thirty cents like Minon Reflector.

Strionic Resonator is under a dollar, and you can use it to duplicate Grimgrin's ability to destroy a creature when attacking, meaning you can kill two per turn and gain two counters.

Good ideas, friend. Especially the Mimic Vat! Didn't thought about that myself.
Thank you.

My friends don't play commander but he has a Grimgrin zombie deck that's too slow for most games so I'm gonna suggest that he makes this with his cards

Thanks! Nice to hear you like it!
I love it myself too! This might be the best EDH I've done so far, but that's just my opinion. Shirei was good too.

I absolutely love Grim-Grin and Thraxi EDH decks, they're soooo vicious(even as budget decks!), and the commander damage gets really dangerous really quickly.

Love what you're doing, and if my friends ever say that EDH is prohibitively expensive, I now have something to prove to them how much fun can be had without breaking the bank.

Even though 40 bucks is pretty much...

It is, but compared to some of the stuff we've done it's a great deal less soul-crushing. I have a friend who had actually tacked on the expense of Legacy with their mortgage.

Hi Northern, I love your budget decks that you build. They help quite a bit with seeing good and financially cheap combos and playstyles. I have taken your GrimGrin deck and made a couple changes to it based on what I had available and what I could find at my local shop. http://www.mtgvault.com/landolien/decks/budget-edh-grimgrin/ I was wondering if I could get some help with making some more changes to make it even more effective. While cards in the $15+ range are a little out of the way for me, I was hoping that you had some other good options.
