Hi, remember VaultHelp? That little project that died because people were so goddamn lazy? You were one of the few worthwhile members, which is why I am now asking you to join the Deckhelp Alliance. It's basically the same thing, just in private, invitation only, so we don't have to deal with flukes. So please don't answer here and just follow this link:http://www.mtgvault.com/puschkin/decks/deckhelp-alliance-reloaded/It's actually the second coming of that project and outdates VaultHelp :)

That was another project:http://www.mtgvault.com/puschkin/decks/mtgvault-the-gathering/And it died all by itself, administration was NOT the problem, people just registering but not helping each other was the true problem. Which is why I go back to the private club. But good that you mention it, I'll invite the few worthy participants of that project to join us over here.
As I said, Curse of Misfortunes will fetch the other curses and pay for them.Wake the Dead of Footsteps of Goryo (or any other renaimation for that matter) doesn't work with Accursed Witch because when it dies, it becomes an enchantment. Or did you mean when my target died and they fall off? Well, there hundreds of ways to reanimate/reuse creatures, there must be something curse-ish/witchcrafty among them. Hm.
Well, I won't delete this deck so nothing is discarded and you can still read old posts.
Oh, okay, misread the Second Sun thing, you need to play 2 this GAME not turn ... so you have wincondition, albeit very slow one.
It's me, but why should I upvote this? What for?
Oooh, I started with this before Amonkhet, didn't know there are new curses! Added some of them. Now I see what you meant, two of them are pretty expensive. I still plan to sneak them into play with Curse of Misfortunes, however, that probably means I need a way to put a curse that sits in my hand hand back into the library. Something like Scroll Rack (but the 2 I have are in use).
Don't think this works at all. Fogs only delay attacks while the opposing army keeps on growing. That means at some point you need to Fog every turn until you can finally sweep the board. But this deck has only 2 mass removals spells, virtually no carddraw and no way to replay Fogs. Decks like this usually run Isochron Scepter. They are 3 dollars each, is that why you don't run them? The next best thing would be Howling Mines to constantly draw fogs, but it's also 3 dollars a pop. But without those, the deck just won't survive. It's a Turbo Fog deck without the "Turbo" part. You say you have card draw in those cycling spells and spellbombs, but that's not carddraw, you are just replacing cards, and 4 of the 7 cycling spells you have are the fogs you are searching for ... sorry, but 11 fogs without any way to draw more than one card per turn is a recipe for disaster. I don't understand why this is mono-white either. IF you are really so budget-desperate that you can't afford compareably cheap but crucial staples like Isochron Scepter or Howling Mine, why then insist in mono white? Green has enough fog variants to fill an entire deck!Other problems:- It is beyond me why you would want to run a single copy of Approach of the Second Sun since you need at least two copies to make it work. This deck has no wincondition!!!- Banisher Priest is completely useless in this deck! First, at some point you'll be forced to play Day of Judgment, which means you'll release whatever the Priest banished. But more importantly, it's the only creature you have, so the opponent will always have means to immediatedly kill it, since all his crature removal spells will sit in his hand, waiting for targets!- You rely on cycling for carddraw but forgot to add cycling lands- Lapse of Certainty is useless here as well, all it does is delaying the things that kills you one turn. It might be useful in a deck that kills the opponent in short order but this one here is a control deck that aims to drag the game forever.Dedwards made good suggestions but I doubt that will be enough to fix all of those problems or even the main problem.
It's for multiplayer so I don't think mana ramp is needed, it would use up valuable deck slots that are wasted in the later phases of games. Also, all I really need is Curse of Misfortunes since it fetches the other curses AND circumvents the mana costs. So, IF I would add any mana ramp, it would be Dark Rituals (fits flavour!) to play a Curse of Misfurtunes on turn 3 and the obligatory Sol Ring. You don't need to suggest staples/fillers like tutors.Paradox Haze is worth a consideration, but so far the deck doesn't run blue because all blue curses suck (two of them mill, which isn't the focus here and the other two aren't beneficial for me at all while at the same time help out all my oher opponnents. Haze is splashable, though.Any ideas flavourwise? Maybe Hex? I am a bit concerned by the fact that I need exactly 6 targets. Our group plays a fair amount of mass removal, so I might struggle getting enough targets.
Okey then, one of the decks I am working on, still in brainstorming phase:http://www.mtgvault.com/puschkin/decks/curse-you/
New "Deck":http://www.mtgvault.com/puschkin/decks/deckhelp-alliance-reloaded/Please post there from now on.
Hm, I just realized deleting stuff actually lowers the post count and probably also the Upvotes, so ... maaaaybe I should really make a second "Deck", sigh.
Okay then, I'll start deleting obsolete posts so that Wicked men don't die of old age while scrolling this page on their Windows 95 machines.
That must be a VERY casual environment when that stinker works like that ... they can still ping it in response to a Canopy Cover or Eel Umbra and it still dies to any random untargetted mass damage etc. Also, they see it coming way in advance. But if it works for you ... why don't you add the other Invokers then as well? :P
Where is the benefit? I basically start from scratch with Kazzong in this thread and the old fellas can join or unsubscribe. It's less work and has no disadvantage while in a new thread I might miss some old members that want to return.
Yeah, it's all over the place. So you want the "essence of each colour" in it, unfortunately, that covers hundreds if not thousands of cards. I'll try to find as many essential effects as possible and make lots of replacement suggestions, just beware that you might not recognize your deck in the end anymore ... also, the current deck seems like to be on a budget and lacks staples, I don't know if this is on purpose or because you just started to dip your nose into modern. So, I will suggest obvious staples that fit nicely but might stretch the budget but will also try to suggest cheap alternatives.I'll start with the ones you want to replace the most:* Staggershock: Why do you want to get rif of it? It's a solid card. Rebound is a rare mechanic, though, but the effect is matching for red. Possible replacements:- Incinerate (iconic)- Punishing Fire - Prophetic Bolt (combines two essencial effects of two colours, but this would up the mana curve)* Harvester Druid:- Sylvan Caryatid would probably be the best replacement if you think defensively- Channeler Initiate is also a strong replacement for a more aggressive stance- Gemhide Sliver is also strictly better than Harvetser Druid Vectis Dominator:Ugh, yeah, this is horrible! Try:- Gidion's Lawkeeper/Goldmeadow Harrier/Master Decoy are all better because they are more reliable and cost less- Topple Geist is great and adds another flyer, however, without delirium active you can tap only once.- Gerrard Capashen is more mana intensive, however, he is beefier and adds serious lifegain, another essential ability for whiteTest of Faith:Why replace this? It is very white and quite useful. But if you insist:- Boros Fury-Shield combines two essential abilities of two colours and is a quite powerful card in casual (I don't understand why nobody is using it)-Grixis Grimblade:Yeah, you will most likely not have enough coloured cards and even if, he isn't that impressive.- Baleful Strix is powerful and represents it's colours perfectly, however, it's still almost 3 dollars.- Gifted AEtherborn has similar stats and deathtouch + lifelink right away without any conditions.- Rancid Rats has worse stats but is way easier to cast and has a second ability matching the colour.Deprive:- Mana Leak is the get-go answer for competitive settings- Disallow is 3 mana but the most solid because it has no conditions and can also counter effects and abilities- Hindering Light only works on spells that targets you or your stuff but draws a card, so it represents both of it's colours very wellOTHERS:* Solemn Simulacrum is a way better Pilgrim's Eye, albeit one mana and some dollars more. It is, however, a card you can use over and over in almost every deck you build. Having said that, you should not replace all 3 Eyes since the one mana difference is still important for ramp. Simulacrum is more colour fixing and utility than ramp.* Fog:I am really puzzled why people always ALWAYS add the vanilla Fog to their decks even though there are so many fantastic alternatives. Yes, they cost one or two mana more but the added abilities are more than worth it:- Tangle- Dawn Charm- Pollen Lullaby* Dawnglare Invoker:I disagree about him being the MVP of the deck - 8 mana to activate is a hell of an investment and how is he supposed to survive until then with a toughness of just 1!? Try instead:- Ivory Giant- Subjugator Angel- Sleep (THIS is a gamebreaker at half the mana of the Invoker's ability)* Viashino Slaughtermaster => Savageborn Hydra* Lightning Talos: Not a bad card but also not particularily great either and I think there are other cards that represent red better than this:- Cartouche of Zeal- Lightning Prowess- Claws of ValakutLAND MIX: * You need more Terramorphic Expanse/Evolving Vines. * A five colour deck like this with a green core that can't afford duallands of any sorts should have more green mana sources plus some green mana fixers like Harrow or Rampant Growth type of cards (which are also core cards that represents green)THEMES MISSING:* (Black) Discard:- Duress would be nice and solid- But something Liliana's Specter or Ravenous Rats would probably be better since we can't afford to lower the creature count* (Blue) Card draw:- Fact or Fiction- Foresee (also has Scry which is very blueish)- Thieving Magpie (again, to keep up the creature count)* (Black) Sacrificing things and harming yourself to get something powerful- Xathrid Demon* (Blue) Copy- Dack's Duplicate (a Clone with haste, so it represents red as well)* (White, Red, Green) Artifact/Enchantment/Land removal- Krosan Grip, Return to Dust, Pillage- Structural Distortion (with damage)- Fracturing Gust (with lifegain)- Oblivion Ring (should replace Crystallization)* (Black, green) Graveyard recursion- Eternal Witness- Beacon of Unrest- Footbottom Feast- Foul Revival (2 black core abilities at once)
Heya. Remember that VaultHelp thing I ran here for a while until people stopped participating? Well, way before that I did a similar thing, just in privacy with a few trusted people, invitation only. Well, activity there stopped as well, nonetheless I'd like to officially invite you to the Deckhelp Alliance:http://www.mtgvault.com/puschkin/decks/the-deckhelp-alliance/It's still not public and it should stay that way, so please don't answer here. Follow that link and write in the comment section for which of your decks you want feedback.
Well, this one is considered finished but haven't managed to assemble it with physical cards yet, so last minute feedback is welcome:http://www.mtgvault.com/puschkin/decks/highland-celebrity-death-match/I am working on several other decks that I haven't made public yet. I'll add proper decriptions what I want to achieve with them and let you know about it.
