The reason is mainly "because Ali is an Arabian Nights card". Rarity being the issue here. I mean, compare Juzam Djinn and Phyrexian Scuta - virtually the same card, each being slightly better in different situations, but the difference in price is exorbitant. And in case you haven't checked it out yet, Arabian Nights has a basic Mountain as the only basic land of the set (they forgot to remove it). Now look how much it is worth - just because it has that Scimitar expansion symbol.

I have Fortune Thief instead of Ali because of the budget crowd.

Made the Personal Incarnation deck. Here is the official advertisement:

Welcome to our group, the "Fortune Thieves"!

You are unsure of your life? You don't really know who you are? You are lacking the Angel's Grace you once had? You want a strong ego that manifests physically?

We here at Mana Crypt studios developed a method where a professional Soulgorger Orgg flings you through a Near-Death Experience in order to summon a Personal Incarnation of yours! You call this a Blasphemous Act? Well, we call this a Self-Awareness Trip!

If you call our Academy Rector and sign up* now then you will get a Boros Signet for free**!

* We do not accept applications from Mogg Maniacs anymore!
** While stock lasts. Might be replaced with Sol Rings.

Yes but this is casual and I'd rather set my Moxes on fire than build a deck that is similar to something standardized in any format :)

Again: He plays casual, not tournaments, and landrops count at the kitchen table.

You stil have one less mana on turn 2 and all consequent turn up to the point where you miss a landdrop naturally.

Ugh? You can only play one land per turn, so, of course bouncing a land on turn 2 will slow the opponent down! Turn 2 is the only one where he is not busy casting other stuff. Besides, as the deck description says, he doesn't want to bounce anything besides lands since he needs targets to copy/steal. Plus, this is casual, he won't play against pro type of decks or players. But IF he would, you should also know that it is fairly easy to get rid of a Capsize: If you manage to sacrifice, bounce, flicker, kill or whatever the permanent he wants to bounce, the buyback part of Capsize will fizzle. And tournament quality decks tend to be able to do that.

Besides, it's not my deck, I just explained to you, why Capsize doesn't work for the gameplan Jessie has which is outlined in detail in the description.

It costs one mana more and that collides with his gameplan. He wants to bounce a land on turn 2 to slow the opponent down and cast Propaganda on turn 3 (which is important because at turn 4 he can cast the first impersonator and might need to copy the Propaganda).

Not with my selection of enchantments. I only have 6 Auras total that I could attach to the Spiritdancer and only 10 of my 27 enchantments are actually auras.

BTW, if an opponent has Swamps, Spreading Algae works as well as Rancor. Rancor is still much better because of the trample of course but having 8 cards that recycle for a single mana definately helps.

I tried to keep it cheap, no Serra's Sanctum.

Yes it works. Meanewhile copy cards come into play AS copies, they do not copy as a CIP anymore.

Followed Footsteps ...

What's the Memnite for? If it is for early blockers, use Shield Sphere instead.

Both Pyrostatic Pillar and the Eidolon only work on ccm<=3. So, any deck that isn't weenie will be mostly unaffected? I'd say, run some Manabarbs as well (or as a replacement of the eidolon or at least in the sideboard). And if you replaced the Eidolons, you might want to run Earthquake or Flamebreak or something similar.

Well, Sphere and Thorn affects yourself, too, so that one mana might turn out to be crucial.

Meh. He will go up in price even more. That is a gamebreaker and staple in casual and EDH. And I thought Phyrexian Metamorph was sick.

My suggestions are all dirt-cheap, though. Except for the Port but I acknowledged that.

Pendrell Flux => Slow Motion (saves you cards)
Early Frost => Power Sink (MUCH better because it counters something and taps lands at the same time)
Triton Shorestalker => Invisible Stalker (you only run 3 creatures, opponent will have creature removal)
Sinister Possession => Paralyze
Drowned Catacomb => Creeping Tar Pit (you need more win conditions)
Soul Barrier => Energy Flux (if your opponent has mana artifacts, you are screwed)

I guess if you had them, Rishadan Ports would be in the deck, right?
