Deck Description

I love U/R decks; U/R Delver, U/R Kiln Fiend, Izzet Blitz all of them I have played at some point or another. However I had yet to build a U/R EDH and the original plan was I wanted to find an EDH deck that made Dracogenius playable. As it grew it made less and less sense to make Dracogenius as my general, but made him an alt win condition.

How to Play

1) Due to the major lack of red mana this deck needs, fetch an Island with any fetch land that can fetch islands. This will increase the count for flow of ideas.

2) Combo 1: Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Curiosity = GG

3) Combo 2: Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Ophidian Eye = GG

4) Combo 3: Niv-Mizzet Dracogenius + Mind Over Matter + Izzetboiler Works = GG

5) Combo 4: Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Niv-Mizzet, Dracogenius = 12 points of damage per turn.

6) Combo 5: Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind + Curiosity + Psychosis Crawler = Multiplayer GG

7) Combo 6: Illusionist Bracers + Aphetto Alchemist + Sensei's Diving Top = Infinite Draw

8) Combo 7: Illusionist Bracers + Aphetto Alchemist + Arcanis, the Omnipotent = Infinite Draw

9) Combo 8: Illusionist Bracers + Aphetto Alchemist + Sol Ring/Izzet Keyrune/Izzet Cluestone/Darksteel Ignot/Izzet Signet/Mana Vault = infinite Mana

Deck discussion for EDH: FireMind Draw

I ran something similar until Nekusar was released and I realized the same concept worked much better there. That said, if you don't want to port over to Nekusar:

Cyclonic Rift = Wash Out on steroids.

Since you're running Blue Sun, Invoke and Mind Spring I'd say throw in Braingeyser as well.

Illusionist's Bracers double up the Niv/Arcanis/Archivist taps.

I'd yank a land and pull Spellbook and add a Reliquary Tower.

Thought Reflection? Because if drawing seven cards is good then drawing fourteen is better.

Psychosis Crawler? Because if drawing fourteen cards is good then dealing fourteen damage to each enemy when you draw them is better.

1) What should I cut for Cyclonic Rift?

2) I cut Trade Secrets for Braingeyser since Trade Secrets in banned.

3) Should I run Illusionist's Bracer, Rings of Brighthearth or both? What should I cut for these.

4) I'm already running Spellbook, Venser's Journal and Library of Leng, do I still need Reliquary Tower? If so I'll cut an Island for it.

5) Thought Reflection seems good what should I cut for it? Maybe Mana Flare since that helps my opponent too...

6) I love Psychosis Crawler and he becomes even bigger as I draw more too, so he definitely is in the deck, just what to cut for him? Perhaps Visions of Beyond?

1) Drop an island for Rift

3) Bracers have the advantage of not requiring 2 colorless every time you use 'em.

4) IMO three is fine. I'd swap Reliquary Tower for Spellbook to offset the loss of the land from 1)

5) I'd say Flare for sure, especially if you play multiplayer primarily. In a four player pod you're helping not just one enemy but three enemies. That's three times the chance someone has to blow up. If you were running a deck with 15 X damage spells or something I'd say it was worth the risk because you'll benefit more than anyone else, but as is Flare could really backfire.

6) I might be in the minority here, but I personally am of the mind that in a two color deck 38 land is plenty, especially with that many mana rocks and that many fetches to both thin your deck and assure you have the right combos. Visions I'd say is also disposable, but you could also cut a few lands.

*) Consider Thassa, too. Even if you never hit her devotion having an indestructible way to skip past lands in the late game can be invaluable.

Alright, nearly all suggestions have been accounted for :)

Because of your suggestion of Illusionist Bracers I added in Aphetto Alchemist, he just seemed like a good idea :)
