If you like using the Stick (Isochron), strongly consider Orim's Chant. The flexibility is amazing, and you can still continue using the Kicker upon each activation. While Abeyance does sort of the same thing, I've found that there's much better bang for your buck out of the Orim's. You may also find that Sol Ring's flexibility would be a great add here, if for no other reason but to use it on the Stick itself.

Beyond that, what seems to be missing, imo, is some sort of draw mechanic or card quality system. Considering the way the deck is built out, consider Sensei's Divining Top. It can single handed-ly win you more than a few games by allowing to to pick and choose what's coming to ensure that you're getting the best option at the moment.

I do question your use of Incinerate here; while the added benefit can be arguably beneficial, the flat mana cost of Lightning Bolt can help in a bind and it does roughly the same thing. Swords to Plowshares could be an interesting add, too, as that can also be placed on the Stick.

I have an Isochron deck if you're looking for ideas to exploit this card even further; the deck itself is completely different than this, but it still hinges on the Stick. If you get a minute, I welcome any comments you have to offer: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=227960.

One of the easiest ways to improve upon this deck is to make it mono-black. While this might be against your ideas, Black can give you ALL the land destruction you need. Icequeake, Rancid Earth, and more are all at your disposal and they ALL cost 1BB.

Simply, though, Dark Ritual is a must here. Rit WILL mean a turn 1 LD in more games than you think:

Turn 1: Swamp, Dark Rit, Icequake/Rancid Earth/Rain of Tears;
Turn 2: Swamp, Sinkhole;
Turn 3: Swamp, Icequake/Rancid Earth/Rain of Tears

That combination plays off quite often with mono-black LD. As kill support, and large banger will work. Replacing Acid-Moss with a 3CC LD and the Assassin, BoP, and Slime for Dark Rituals should net you amazing returns.

While I do not currently run a G/B LD, I am a LD lover and have two LD builds on the site if you want some ideas. Take a look at my B/W LD deck (http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=177406) and/or my mono-Red budget LD deck (http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=154811). Some of the card combinations might help you advance your process.

Thanks for posting!

I think what's missing here is solid acceleration. I've got a Mind Over Timmy build as well (http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=145831) and the one thing I struggle with is getting all the pieces I need and able to afford everything in a timely manner. High Tide, Sol Ring (or any other colorless tapper), or Saprazzan Skerry might help you with the mana you need.

I question the inclusion of only one MoM. You don't have any search or draw in the deck (I'm not counting the one Ponder) so getting to it is a little unreliable; definitely increase the count to at least 3.

Sigil of Sleep is amazing, I'm glad you have one here, but consider upping it to 2-3, it will help in a pinch.

What I do like is your inclusion of Shadow. This will give you an alternate win condition, the trick, though, is staying alive long enough to do enough lethal damage. Also, Charisma is a GREAT card and something I somehow overlooked when building my "Tim's Curious MoM" deck a while back.

If you get a chance, feel free to take a look at one of my builds.

Look towards Chromatic Sphere to help with coloring up so you have the options you need when its time. Also, consider Atog as a win condition, you can sac artifacts to him for the Disciple or to swing with him if your opponent is open. Cranial Playing is also a great option, especially with Fling.

Hope these ideas help. If you get a chance, I welcome any comments or suggestions you can offer one of my decks (just click on my name to see the deck list). Thanks!

Yeah, same wave length here. Don't really see the point to Contagion Clasp. You might he better served with draw from Sign in Blood or Tezzeret's Gambit (for the draw, not the proliferate since that's what makes the clasp questionable).

Hope this idea helps. I must admit, this looks a lot better than I anticipated upon pulling if up, nice job!

One of the 'house' rules we used to play with back during 4th edition was 'no X damage spells could be cast at a player unless there was not other opposing target.' So, you can't hit me with that Fireball for 13 if I have a 1/1 out; make him go away and have at it.

Looks like anything from 4th Edition through Ice Age (stopping just before the trainwreck that was Homelands).

While always reliable, I personally preferred the Arcbound Ravager/AEther Vial affinity. It really is amazing how 'cut and dry' Broodstar Affinity was. Almost every build was identical, even up to the Spellbomb. Paradise Mantle was a great addition here, as it was to all Affinity builds. Nice job!

To switch it up, consider Fling in conjunction with Cranial Plating and/or an Atog.

Your curve is a little steep. To remedy this, I'd definitely add in a play set of Dark Rituals to help fuel your 4+ CC cards to hit faster than normal (if you're trying to keep this Standard, then disregard this comment).

Otherwise, I'd up the land count to at least to 22 black sources. The worst thing in any build is having quality cards staring at you from your hand because you don't have the resources to play them. Alternate sources of mana would be of tremendous value to this deck.

Considering the curve, I would STRONGLY encourage the implementation of B/R dual lands. Badlands, Sulfurous Springs, the B/R fetch land, shock land, etc., will all give you considerably utility to play virtually anything as soon as possible. Handcuffing yourself to traditional lands may slow you down at times preventing you from dismantling threats or establishing offense. City of Brass would even help considerably.

Otherwise, you could really consider making this build mono-black. In fact, you might find some significant success altering the deck to accomodate a mono-black build. Implementing cards like Edicts/Verdicts, Dark Ritual, Sign in Blood, and spot removal via Terror/Doom Blade/Go for the Throat will help you control the game until you swing in for the killing blow.

Cairn the Wanderer is a great add here, but consider how productive it would be hitting the board turn 3 with a Dark Ritual (or turn 2 with a couble Dark Ritual draw). Even Phyrexian Obliterator would fit this theme lovely.

I understand what you mean about 1 ofs, but instead, think of Enlightened as a 5th Stick, or 4th Lab, Rule, or Term. AND it can go on the stick, too.

Also, Swords to Plowshares might be a better alternative to Path to Exile. Giving your opponent health with a deck like this is a much better alternative than giving them a land, but that's just my opinion.

Well, I'm not convinced you need Silence AND Chant. One or the other would work fine (I suggest 4 Chants). With that, you get 3 cards slots, 2 of which can be Wrath of God and perhaps the last being Enlightened Tutor to dig up a Stick or Enchantment.

Nothing against Silence, but Orim's Chant is arguably better do to the fact that you can choose to pay the kicker everytime you activate it off of the stick. In essence, same effect with a utility option on demand.

In a sideboard, I'd definitely consider Wrath of God in the event it takes a while to get set up. Otherwise, nice build!

I understand your issue with Cabal Coffers. It can be slow and potentially hurtful early on. However, if you could find a way to slim down the mana curve, adding tools that cost 2 in place of 4 and 7, getting it early has little drawback. Theoretically, if you could play everything/anything in you deck at the cost of 4 or less, with the abundance of the deck being 2-3, the Coffers would just sit waiting to fuel a tremendous Drain/Consume for the win. Perhaps Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth will interest you in conjunction with the Coffers; then, the Coffers WILL fuel your Lashwrithes, you'd just have to get one on the table.

In regards to Sign in Blood, you could almost shave some land to add in a couple. Considering your curve is still managable as it stands, 25 lands is a little overkill. You could drop it down to 23 to add 2 Signs just as another fetch.

I respect your decision about Lilliana, I find myself doing the same thing with my MBC deck. Still, for me, the utility she has brought (in conjunction with Necropotence (or in this case, Sign in Blood) is remarkable (activate her ability, put a card on top, Sign in Blood). There have been more than enough situations where her presence has been warranted.

I'd personally go with Vault Skirge. He'll hit the board on turn 1 and be a chump blocker, potentially HUGE in Legacy.

The build seems to be lacking some draw, though. I know you want to keep it aggro, and I know, I know, the Arena's there, but not having cards in your hand, whether it be creatures or acceleration, means you're screwed. Sing in Blood, while not the best option, can be quite effective, and when double dipping with an Arena can be quite fun. You just need a more reliable way to regenerate health....

...And I'm not entirely sold on Sorin's Vengeance. You could run Drain Life or Consume Spirit and have it target a threat or gain you health. Besides, drawing a Sorin's in your opening hand is no fun, nothing like having a huge 7 CC spell staring at you saying, "you can't use me, you can't use me!" Factor Cabal Coffers into the mix and Drain/Consume can get out of control.

Other than that, you might find Lilliana Vess to be useful here. Not for her third loyalty ability but her second one. She will effectively give you some great card advantage in the mid game to help things along.

Hope these ideas help. If you get a chance, feel free to take a look at one of them. I always appreciate any comments or criticism the community can offer (just click on my name to see the decklist).

I just realized you were trying to make this Standard, so most of my suggestions probably won't help you.

Choosing to go three colors with a LD deck is incredibly difficult. You also handicap yourself with the 8 5+ CC cards. I respect how you want to want to destroy land (via Liquimetal Coating and Shatter/Crush, but your setting yourself up for too much dependence on other factors in order to accomplish this.

Therefore, might I suggest going mono-red and focus directly on straight LD cards like Stone Rain, Molten Rain, etc. Red offers a tremendous amount of LD for 3. The key to any LD deck is speed, you really NEED to start popping lands on turn 2. Cards like Pyretic Ritual and Desperate Ritual can help you accomplish this. Red also offers you removal via burn spells such as Flame Slash and Lightning Bolt, both great when you're in a bind or need some breathing room.

I have 3 LD decks posted here on the site, perhaps one of them can help you speed up and/or focus on a faster build.

Mono-Red (http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=154811);
Black/White (http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=177406);

But the Green/Red build will probably help you most (http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=178506). This deck is designed to do what you are trying to do here, turn lands into artifacts with Liquimetal and popping them that way. Splashing green to your build would allow you to add Splinter, the most violent LD spell you can add to this deck (well, not really LD, but when factored with Liquimetal it is). Take a look at it.

Hope these ideas help. If you get a chance, feel free to leave any comments or suggestions on any of the decks I have posted here on the site.

Actually, upon further review, I'm not really convinced that the Vengeful Pharaoh is needed here. With a CC of 5, he's the second most expensive play in the build (in addition to Lilliana). With added removal, and possibly adding in one more Lilliana, you should be dealing with a board that is pretty clear of creatures to where the Pharaoh's ability isn't needed. Then, popping Lilliana's tutor ability will become your bread and butter to ensure card quality and threat response. Just an added thought.

Hope these ideas help!

For flexibility, I'd suggest you add more removal; Geth's Verdict should do nicely paired with GftT (I know you can kick the Gatekeeper, but the instant speed and 'target player' of the Verdict really helps at times). Then, you definitely need some draw. MBC plays pretty quickly and its biggest issue if the likelihood that you're standing around with nothing in hand; Sign of Blood and Tezzeret's Gambit will help remedy this.

Beyond that, Massacre Wurm is a little overpriced to play in this build, you don't want to have him in an opening hand staring at you for 6 turns. Even adding in two more Duress's in place of the two Wurms would be advantageous; or even Gitaxian Probe just for the spy and draw.

I have an older MBC deck that I use in casual. There are similarities between the two, but mine isn't Standard. Still, there may be some ideas you could pull from it as you're probably more familiar with the more recent sets than I am. If you get a chance, take a look, I'd appreciate any comments you can offer; here's the deck list: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=86456
