I think this could be a good foundation for a standard deck moving forward. I think you should build post rotation: only Kaladesh, Aether Revolt, Hour of Devistation, and Amonket.Cards here I like: Resolute Survivors, Honored Crop-Captain, Glory-Bound Initiate, Aerial Responder, Ahn-Crop Crasher.Consider: Abrade, Skysovereign, Glorybringer.

I like where you're headed here; I think this fits into your style well.Let's make it into a playable modern deck! The first step is to ask yourself if you want to play it like an Agro deck or as a Combo deck. What I mean is: do you want to push pressure your opponents like total or assemble a combination of cards that win?For example: if you played 20 mountains and 40 lightning bolts, your combo would be cast six bolts (18 is often leathal in Modern). Further, your combo would often kill turn three, and almost always by turn four.cards to consider: Monastery Swiftspear, Spike Jester, Bump in the Night, Lava Spike, Rift Bolt, Searing Blaze, Skullcrack, Searing Blood.Avoid cards that are more than three mana!Cards I like in your deck as it is right now: Lightning Bolt, Molten Rain, Browbeat, Vexing Devil, Young Pyromancer, Harsh Mentor.
I like silence and bloodmoon and nightcreep is a sort of hybrid, but without the repeat casting through imprinting it, it pays a card to stall a turn. This build is much closer to a prison build than an attrition engine; stalling to find a lock seems too hopeful. BUT, I've never played this deck, so who knows :P
x35 2cc!Sylvan Scrying to fetch Urborg? If so, I think you don't need it.Deglamer to side!I don't think Bile Blight is strong enough.x4 Nightcreep might be clunky, without scepter it's pretty bad and might feel like a dead draw.-3 sylcan scrying, -2 deglamer, -3 bile blight, -1 nightcreep (less you want an all in build, I suppose).+4 duress! +5 1cc.
I think Gaddock Teeg fits in the mainboard; he doesn't impact anything you want to do.Loxodon Hierarch may be a card that interests you.Run two more Sunpetal Grove instead of your two Blossoming Sands.I don't think you need Elvish Mystic, because you mana curve is nice and low. Generally elves are for building up into something big, but Elvish Mystic is taking up space when you would be simply cast more creature that are good attackers. If you decide to remove Elvish Mystic, replace it with a 2-power 1-cost creature such as Dryad Militant (which fits here well). If you want lots of artifact/enchantment removal in your mainboard, consider running more Qasali Pridemage or Reclamation Sage instead of Naturalize. Naturalize can't attack.I think you would find Rancor fits your needs more than Giant Growth does.Consider a reusable source of life gain such as Loxodon Warhammer.Cards in general that if removed would make your deck feel more consistent: Dawnbringer Charioteers, Deadly Recluse, Elvish Mystic, Wingsteed Rider, Naturalize.
x4 Sylvan CaryatidI wouldn't run less than 20 lands with 3 colors, extra lands isn't terrible considering Ugin.Rattleclaw Mystic looses a lot of value here. Not sure if there is room for Prophet of Kruphix. No space for Taigam's Scheming.x4 Bile Blight could be really good on the draw, so I'd recommend have 4 in your 75 (if you want 2 mainboard, put 2 more in your sideboard).I think Crux of Fate is actually a great fit here. Board wipes are great overall, at least the option of it happening.EDIT: 300th comment
I like this; it goes a lot farther than most budgets. For those considering this deck, get your Mardu Strike Leader's sooner than later. If warriors becomes a thing, it will go up.
no worries and agreed. also temporal tresspass = lol
you could out bump entirely if you decided to race less and protect more
I think duress is a fine idea. I think it falls into a preference for how you want to play the deck, but it fits quite well.
If you went with a Blue/White version, I think it could work. It's a little costly for this list specifically.
I personally have never played Magic with winning as my only or main priority; challenge yourself. I've played a handful of versions of this deck and it is very easy to edit to fit you or your play group better. I can't wait to hear how it goes!
Was a mistake from editing; thank you for pointing that out!
Agreed. It's a solid number for having a lot of basics. Perhaps 3, but I like 2. If running mono blue, 4 would be easy.
I'm sorry Kim broke your net
I meant more in terms of keeping a stable mana base *They are indeed cheap!
I could be mistaken, but it seems that the goal is to untap manlands with Jeskai Ascendancy (and possibly use Pyromancer Ascension to exploit this further. If so:1) Pyromancer Ascension is a "win more" card. It is not needed for your winning plan and is only good while your winning plan is working. It appears to have value but it only has value when you don't need to card.2) Land. Jeskai Ascendancy is your only source that needs white mana and you "can" cast your whole deck without green mana; if all of your fetches were Scalding Tarn, you mana would be more stable. This would lead to other fine tuning as well, but you shouldn't focus on that until after your nonland revision.3) Snapcaster Mage and Pyromancer Ascension conflict too much.4) Grapeshot does not belong. Storm requires much more dedication. Grapeshot more or less becomes a "win more" card in this build.5) The general direction of the deck seems to be rather vague. The coupling seems to be instants/sorcerys and cards that make instants/sorcerys better, but instead of a single pursuit, we have a combination of best case scenarios. The deck seems most akin to storm decks, but it doesn't chain as well, while there isn't enough creature support for Jeskai Ascendancy to work on the modern clock.I'll print paper proxies at work if you want to come over and test it, sir.
It could fit into a mono blue version very easily, it isn't a bad choice as much as it doesn't compete with alternatives.
Good thoughts here, both of you! I made some changes. Also: if this had a goal of <$50, it could easily run 4 ghost quarter.
