Wait, why 23 lands then? Though imperfect due to the impact of fetching, hypergeometric calculations indicate you can expect the hit 4 and 5 lands on turns 4 and 5, 76% and 52% of the time respectively, even if we round that down significantly because of the thinning effect of fetch lands I still think the land count is way too heavy for a deck like this. And perhaps so too is the discard count. There's gonna be a tension there between establishing board presence and using discard while the opponent still has a hand to play with in the crucial early turns, to say nothing of the shitty late game topdecks they make.

There's so much shit you could consider while maintaining this fast Jund identity you got going on.
[[Jegantha, the Wellspring]] to start with as it's literally free to run.
[[Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer]] cause it's more annoying than ass cancer.
[[Orcish Bowmasters]] because Orcish Bowmasters.
[[Shadowspear]] and [[Nihil Spellbomb]] because they can win you games and are rarely dead cards.
Fable of the Mirror-Breaker if you want to venture into 3-drop territory

That said I love that you're running capsule, genuinely think it's an underused card. Perhaps there's too much removal when you account for it?

Why deviate so heavily from the established lists? Why so many win conditions when most builds run 1 or 2 alongside ways to tutor them out or draw into them with infinite mana? Why no disruption to protect the combo? Why no [[Goblin Matron]], [[Deadly Dispute]], [[Ichor Wellspring]], [[Unearth]] etc?

For example, [[Unearth]] is always a welcomed sight, at worst you cycle it, at best it allows you to go through counterspells or kill spells by returning whichever part of the combo your opponent disrupted. [[Goblin Matron]] on the other hand allows you streamline your deck to a ridiculous degree as it helps you find whatever you are missing to go off, and alongside with [[Unearth]] it can find multiple pieces like [[Dark-Dweller Oracle]] or [[Flamewave Invoker]]. [[Deadly Dispute]] is arguably the best black card in the format.

Feel like this has potential. Maybe [[prismatic ending]] or maybe [[Stoneforge Mystic]] belong here. But maybe not.

Too low impact unfortunately. Pauper is essentially legacy without the bullshit, people won't storm you out, or vomit out an Emrakul on turn 3 but you can't get away with much in the format without getting trampled by powerful interactions or tempo decks that are only a few taplands and [[Force of Will]] behind those of legacy. But the deck needs [[Khalni Garden]] and [[Weather the Storm]] in the sideboard, otherwise the math regarding the card advantage sacrifice instants doesn't work out, and the burn matchup is needlessly difficult without the ability to gain 9 to 15 life on a whim.

The rules don't check out, no cmc != 0 cmc. Even if, It's just too niche I think. It's great for the titan, but titan decks already have enough broken shit to get up to. You'd need a t1 saga, a titan in hand, and a lotus bloom still in the deck. And then if the titan dies what do you have left? But I wonder if there is something else for 6 that is worth cheating out, and whether there is a deck that could support it while not relying on it.

Imagine existing without an adblocker xD.

That aside, every format punishes non-meta decks, that's the case by definition. The problem with modern is the metagame (incestuous oligarchy is really spot on xD). A brief glance at GoldFish top cards shows that virtually the entire format is just Modern Horizons cards and cheap answers to them. That's it. That's literally 98% or more of the format.

It's why I only play Pauper nowadays with hopes of getting back into Legacy once I clear up some health and life issues or rob a gas station or something along those lines.

Unfortunately the site is dead and I have grown to abhor Modern. Plus half those cards have too much text for me to bother xD

I will push back on [[Electrolyze]] as, although I miss the card (foils give boners, etc.), I don't think it's good anymore. It's not bad, just which decks would run it, and what would they cut for it? And against so many decks, what are you targeting?

100% on Kaya's Guile tho.

I think [[Umori, the Collector]] is a fundamentally bad companion unfortunately. It's only really good if you're running mono-creatures, in which case you kind of have to go aggro, in which case a 4-drop that gives a meager discount is not what you want to be doing for 4 mana. Like, what the card gives you is either a worse Mono Green or Gruul aggro deck, or a worse Rock or Abzan midrange.

Maybe the deck could work as something that fair decks have trouble beating? Like, anything that aims to win via creature combat of the sort that does not involve a [[primeval titan]] on turn 3 or the like could maybe just struggle against a deck that plays very high-value, must-remove threats on top of having 1 extra card in the form of a 4/5. But I don't know what that would look like.

Hmmm, why play this instead of just regular goblin combo? Looks more resilient on account of a higher number of payoffs but those also look like they may clog up your hand when you'd rather be drawing something else.

If you're gonna run fetch lands and deathtouch creatures then [[Fatal Push]] is probably gonna be better than [[Mirrodin Avenged]]. Plus by not running the latter you don't have to keep getting reminded of one of the most butchered storylines WotZy ever shat out their greedy asses.

Hmm, I think that would all work better in a dedicated [[Dread Return]] build, here it's more of an additive or a plan B or the two in the one-two-punch that occurs late enough in the game to where 1/1s for one don't really matter as mana is abundant and the board already either has dudes on it or the game is lost.

Once again though, this would all require testing as I have no idea:
How quickly the deck can mill itself on average.
How many cards in the graveyard translate to on average how much Giant damage.
How often the deck wants to sack 3 creatures to reanimate a giant.
What is the earliest turn ^ is likely to be worth it on average.

I'll have to actually test this, but I agree, farmer is probably better than treefolk in this build.

Oh and how is initiate in any way similar to the imp? Lifelink is a huge deal in the current metagame and a huge deal in this deck with [[Basilisk Gate]]. [[Cabal Initiate]] has twice as much power as [[putrid imp]], which makes it actually relevant in the early game when we're on the offensive, and it ends up a 3/3 not a 2/2, also a big deal with [[experimental synthesizer]] samurai, [[kor skyfisher]]s, and [[Glint Hawk]]s running around.

[[Dread Return]] is likely to get boarded out in games 2&3 in almost all cases where heavy graveyard hate is to be expected. Furthermore, it's not like we are racing towards reanimating a [[Lotleth Giant]] nor do we lack dudes to sack due to running 3 [[Grave Scrabbler]]s and an abundance of 1/1s.

Generally, Abzan colors stress the mana base too much with TE requiring lots of black and green being as good as necessary on turn 2. You can go Abzan if you cut [[Grave Scrabbler]]s but that is downright asinine as it makes your lategame worse than that of mono red aggro.

My previous version: https://www.mtgvault.com/theswarmer/decks/pauper-tortured-existence-v8-2/ is much more in line with some of your suggestions as a slower, more traditional version.

[[Tilling Treefolk]] in addition to [[Eccentric Farmer]] does seem like a relatively good idea, though the card is rather slow being a 3 mana 1/3 and I am not entirely sure what to cut for it. Any suggestions? I'm thinking either a [[Dread Return]] or [[Mire Triton]].

Uhm, what you put in seems like the best way to go. There's a discussion to be had around whether [[Brainstorm]] alongside [[ash barrens]] and maybe [[Thought Scour]] is better than [[Preordain]], or whether [[Opt]] is better than Preordain in a prowess deck but it has been a bit too long since I played for me to give any valuable feedback on that.

Personally I'm a big fan of [[Thought Scour]] over [[Otherworldly Gaze]] and generally of a more cantrip focused build but this seems very well built. Real fan of the inclusion of Kamigawa cards too!
