How to Play

If you get a tutor, go for Rooftop Storm. The point of this deck is to draw cards, then cast creature spells. The more you cast creatures, the more you can use the other enchantments and sorceries to retrieve them back after either sacrificing or battle... which also helps you gain more free mana with Mana Echoes.

Fatestitcher is the wild card that actually helps make more moves than you would expect... reuse my Nythos, Shrine to Nyx or Land of the Dead; untap my big creatures; tap anything else on the battlefield; or even reset abilities and help the other zombies use more of their effects. This card is the best utility card I can have.

Thraximundar can be a Legendary creature, but I love casting him from the deck. I already have a base strategy to make players return cards to their hand and deal direct damage from their own hand. It would be best to make Thraximundar come out as a gameday surprise just to see the looks on people's faces!... I have been getting excellent win conditions when adding Gravecrawler and the Phyrexian Altar combo.

... BTW, the most powerful card in this deck is clearly Gravecrawler! He does so much for my deck towards win conditions. There are at least 13 combos that I know of, and four rely on him alone! If I add Purphoros, God of the Forge to this deck, there is a good chance that I will kill everyone at once with just Army of the Damned in play - but Gravecrawler makes it simple, and as long as I have Swamp mana to cast, then I can end all players with those two cards alone!

All you need is a sacrifice outlet, then the combo just picks up and triggers any number of effects. Add Deathbringer Thoctar to the mix, and he deals damage before summoning sickness clears (his effect doesn't require him to tap). Rooftop Storm makes Gravecrawler an infinite mana combo with Phyrexian Altar or Mana Echoes. And Vicious Shadows is the enchantment themed specifically to exploit this combo - upon sacrificing Gravecrawler, I can deal direct damage to anyone with cards in their hand (no cards - not to worry... I can make them deal cards with Toil // Trouble or Forced Fruition; also using Skyscribing's Forecast ability can do the trick). This all requires sacrifice... and Gravecrawler can be recast from the graveyard for one Swamp mana! I love this card!

You don't even need Gravecrawler to do the job. The most recent combo I found involved Mana Echoes, Havengul Lich, Sedraxis Alchemist/Lifebane Zombie, and Phyrexian Altar. The combo works similar to other Grixis infinite mana combos. You sacrifice a creature, then use a card to cast it back from the graveyard, then it gives you more mana due to the Mana Echoes adding colorless mana for every card that shares a type with it. If you have two or more zombies, you can cast Sedraxis Alchemist for the cost of its own black mana when sacrificed by Phyrexian Altar and cast with Havengul Lich's ability. Also, if you use Rooftop Storm, you can cast all zombies for free, and the Mana Echoes enchantment allows you to gain free colorless mana every time you do so!... which allows you to cast Lifebane Zombie and exile costly white or green creature cards in an opponents' hand - even their Commander (which I place in their hand with Sedraxis Alchemist)! That is the strategy I am using for the next EDH game on Sunday. One opponent uses Trostani, Selesnya's Voice as his Commander to gain life and mixes it up with Cathar's Crusade to multiply counters. I can exile his Commander and leave him weak enough to strike at while making him pick up all of his nonland permanents in one turn, then cut him down with my creatures I freely summon from the graveyard.

Now that's the way to play Commander!

Deck discussion for Spoiled Rotten Zombies! - EDH

You should throw in a Cabal Coffers for a combo with Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth.
