Ah, perhaps this could somehow be adapted to a battle of wits version!

Later this year, a couple of other versions surfaced.

One uses 2 lightning storm and 4 mystic sanctuary
Which gives a rather high success rate.

I suggested that they used this secondary wincon:
13 mountains
3 blinkmoth nexus
2 dread statuary
4 mutavault
4 dryad arbor

There should be room enough for 13 island

Last week we had a similar deck.
It used mystic sanctuary to get it's instant and sorceries.
I also gave the designer the advice to use: (second wincon)
3 blinkmoth nexus
2 dread statuary
4 mutavault
13 mountain
4 dryad arbor

Thanx for thanking, I was perhaps more of a bother :)
I've liked the deck now. Also you can like your own decks one time each.

And with 8+ cards there's around a 78% to have one of the 9 cards in hand sometimes more.
I think you might be right :)

I'm having some progress with my landdestruction mill, but I'm a bit out of touch with new cards.
Do you know of anything in the new mill department I should be aware of ?
Post ixalan.

I spent around 10 years fighting the public with computer generated manacurves, I ended up in a simulation war, with me on the leading front, before someone discovered my password and sabotaged my results. It was quite a shock to me that someone would sabotage something that would improve the game for everyone.

I also have a friend who've probably started the core of this deck by getting top 8 with it.
I'm amazed to see it again with some nice new tech. (Especially reliquary tower)
Back when he designed it, I designed another deck along similar lines but with just 8 lands to show him how low he could go with his mana, which is why I'm also shocked by 26 lands.
It does make sense though to cast more growth as fast as possible.

Mekkakat, where did you encounter the basis for this.

Albert, where did your friend encounter it?

A design note on my friends deck is that it used 6 curiosities as there is a green version of it in planar chaos I think.

Heh, I've never wanted to ban/restrict cards as I believe there can always be a way to beat a deck.

Teaching people about manakurver feels wrong to me, as I stopped believing in them years ago
It was a construct made by a single human, and his success in one tournament immortalized his concept,
But as years went by and my computer generated lots of manasolutions, few behaving like curves, I shortly tried to convince others that manacurves were a fraud. I even dug up the original article on the topic, and showed that it was too loose even to work as an advice.

If you want to do research on it yourself the deck behind the claims is referred to as geeba, was played by Paul Paul sligh, but was designed by Jay Schneider. Back then the whole thing was connected to mana optimization.
In the article behind the "tech" Jay Schneider describes a guideline with so many variations that you could build thousands of decks and not deviate from the advice. So when people started to make their own "manacurves" jay sort of got the credit for it by default, like modern medicinal companies patenting a genome as theirs to get all the patents.

Don't just use the strips to defeat a single deck, it will do so, but will degenerate against everything else, but nice way to run a fast proof of concept :)

This is budget?
Has emrakul fallen in price ?

Also let me know if you give up on the advanced paperstrips, I have a more primitive version of it as well.

And was this inspired by ramp wars ?

Have you considered the huge number of cheap creatures with draw/discard
Like looter il-kor?

Couldn't read the dagger, but for the experiment of it, let's say that just having the other cards in the deck raised the number of lands in the deck without you needing to draw them.
Two knights and 3 Raptors that's + 7 mana making it 27.
So in theory it looks okay, but the theory sort of demands that your hand always contain 2 lands, 2 knights and 3 raptors.

What does the knife bring when it transforms?

Yes. That separated system of the game deals with stuff the stax can't handle.
I have a friend who is a pro player who have given totally up on layers. And I also avoid it, it's damn complex.

Layers is a part of magic that usually only judges and pro player's know about.
If two cards state the opposite effect rules a based on the last played card, so I a creature have flying, and the hammer removes flying, then casting an enchantment giving it flying could be a negating effect.

The same thing applies with equipment I guess but I'm not well versed in what cards affect layers, because those rules are insanely complicated.

I wonder if a super flyer (a creature with twice the flying) can fly with it due to layers ?
