That's one of the reasons Mindswipe fits so well here, you can use it like that later. Although swapping in a couple Crater's Claws is a really good idea to be able to use that mana sink on demand. I'm going to be play testing this this week, I'll try playing with some Crater's Claws as well.

Very similar, I like the idea of dig through time. I wonder if it would be advantageous to put that in my main board somehow.

Yeah there's some seriously good potential with Jeskai, very fun. Narset would be very useful in a deck with less counters. Which tournament was this, I would like to watch a recording of it.

Yeah, I wouldn't use Narset. Keranos is better here. Narset would work better in an all burn style deck with less counter.

Yeah, Narset doesn't work in this deck guys, I don't want to mill myself out of all my counters and things just to hope to get a lightning strike or something. Keranos is great for helping with draw. Mantis Rider is so powerful, I wouldn't replace it with sphinx. Vigilance/Haste/Flying is just far too good. You can use it for beat stick, and for blocking, which will allow you to block/chump with it so that you don't need to waste damage for the purposes of removal.

Heh, yeah Ascendancy is a MUST for sure. I have crippling chill/triton in the sideboard to deal with pesky blockers, they're a bit more versatile then ride down, but less permanent. If I was going to put ride down in the MB or SB, what would you replace?

Also, Phalanx leader is a great idea, he could do some serious work, how do you think I should make room for that? Maybe 1x seeker and 1x mantis? for 2x phalanx?

I actually had Phalanx Leaders in there, but I dropped them because they caused the deck to come up somewhere over 7$ at something like $0.25-$0.35 ea. It probably wouldn't be a problem if this deck was running the normal 24 land, but because I've got 4 extra cards that actually cost something, the Phalanx Leaders break the bank.

You got my like, this one's pretty good.

I like trying to make 6$ decks standard legal, so I'll drop my shameless plug in here as well ;) : http://www.mtgvault.com/cdngrep/decks/6-rw-heroic/

Update.. I've been play testing this at FNM and casually. Did really well against mono green devotion, and mono black devotion, all the control and counters work very well against the mana ramping and rats/thoughtsieze respectfully.

I've taken out the Satyr Firedancers and replaced them with Illusory Angels, because one thing that I've found is that if I don't pull the Chimera (my main win condition) at the right time, the game can go long, and although it might seem like blasphemy to take out what seems like one of the best cards for this type of deck, the combo really didn't do much good in most situations because there's only 4 lightning strikes as direct player targeted damage. Maybe if Shock gets re-printed in KTK block, and the count of play targeted burn goes from 4 to 8, then Firedancer will be more effective.

And yes, I know its $6.34 .... but the prices on here for a couple of the cards cost double or triple of what they cost at the marketplace I use ;)

Looks interesting, I think I have all the cards so I might try it out.

Check out my 6$ standard (I did 2 colours though): http://www.mtgvault.com/cdngrep/decks/6-rw-heroic/

PS, you can get MTG Vault to stop calculating the price of the land by picking them from a really old set.

Love it, one of the best 6$ decks I've seen yet. I'm going to put it together tonight and try it out.

*shameless plug*
I also put together a 6$ standard deck, R/W heroic, check it out: http://www.mtgvault.com/cdngrep/decks/6-rw-heroic/

The next thing I noticed after continuing to play test, is that as much as Satyr Firedancer seems like one of the best cards to put in, I really don't get to get much use of it's trigger with only 4 player-targeted burn spells.... I know it seems like total blasphemy, but I'm really considering dropping mine to work in some other win-con other than the Chimera... In my iteration, I already dropped Illusory Angel to make room for more control, so I'm thinking of dropping the Firedancers to take the Angels back, which I believe will really speed up the deck. Goblin Rabblemaster might fit nicely as well... Maybe if Shock gets printed in KTK, and we can drop 4 x Magma Jet for 4x Shocks, the Firedancer would suddnely become extremely good again, but right now, I'm just not feeling it.
