Deck Description

Is EDH too expensive for you? Wanna play a fun deck that doesn't cost a fortune? Then allow me to introduce you to....Poor Man's EDH. For under $75 you can own a cool, powerful, and fun EDH deck that isn't too limited. Ezuri, Claw of Progress is a freaking boss. When I got this new Commander, I new I had to make Saproling EDH a thing, especially with Unblockable power boost. So, without further adieu, Enjoy!

How to Play

The Phyrexian Praetor Jin-Gitaxias has been at long work as of late. With the Elf Renegade Ezuri finally captured, Jin has changed the former Leader into the Claw of Progress, and now Ezuri is showing off his new powers alongside an army of saprolings! This deck has a wide variety of cards that create and support Saprolings, which are 1/1 green creatures that may not be much now, but combined with Ezuri's new abilities make a lot of bother for the opposition. Whenever a creature with 2 or less power enters the battlefield with Ezuri out, You (not Ezuri, you the player) get an experience counter. So if you make 3 saproling counters, you get 3 experience counters! Then, before combat, Ezuri powers up another creature by X +1/+1 counters for each experience counter! So one of those 1/1 Saprolings just became a 4/4!

Now that you've seen a bit into the power of the Claw of Progress, let's show you how easy it is to produce your saprolings. Cards like Jade Mage and Verdant Force can produce one every turn. Another method to produce them is to summon a Fungus, which all of your Fungus creatures can make a saprolings! Æther Mutation can produce saprolings based on the CMC of a creature it bounces. Now do you see how easy it is to summon these little buggers? With as many methods as you do of summoning them, geeting lots of experience is easy!

The most effective way to make use of these +1/+1 counters to to add them to creatures your opponent can't stop. So why not add them to unblockable creatures? Creatures like Triton Shorestalker and Jhessian Infiltrator can deal massive damage with the counter spawning methods mentioned earlier. Or, if you want to be a truly twisted person, throw them onto Simic Manipulator! He can remove all of them to take control of a creature who's power was less than the number of counters! And with each combat gaining another plethora of counters, soon enough all the creatures on the field will be yours! The Claw of Progress is spreading the message of Phyrexia, and you will be modifying yourself to be apart of the perfection alongside an army of saprolings!
