Also, a couple of card draw spells would be nice, as they always are in blue. I won't bother to tell you which as I'm sure you know haha. Again, I would strongly suggest Remand due to it's dual nature as card draw and annoying counter-bounce!

Interesting take on an Iso deck. I don't often see just straight blue with these! The only thing I would suggest (as others have before is a replacement for Mana Leak: Counterspell - an obvious upgrade; hard counter, easy to play with mono blue Remand - card advantage, who cares if it's going back to their hand? You will just keep putting it back there... Memory Lapse - this is one of the easiest ways to lock someone up with Iso. It would eliminate the decking win-con but honestly, who cares? Memory Lapse until you get a beater or what-have-you out, and profit! Other than that, this is a pretty solid deck. Check mine out for some possible ideas if you'd like! :) http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=218975
Chill deck! Jin-Gitaxias and Sheoldred could definitely fit in somewhere
Narrow it's intent? Almost every card in here uses Phyrexian mana... the intent is to stick a Rage Extractor, and then deal lethal damage in 2 or so turns. It's a combo deck...I can't refine it's intent anymore! Haha. Day of Judgment costs 2 less than Phyrexian Rebirth...but I like having a Rebirth in here as well to make the huge beater. This deck is all about stalling until I can combo out, so having 6 board wipes (including the Whipflares) really isn't overkill. War Report before a wipe is usually really mean, especially since I gain 2 life for each artifact creature out. Thanks for the comment though! I've tweaked this some more since I've been playing it at FNM, I'll get around to changing it to what it actually is soon. You may be surprised to hear this, but I did win 2 out of the 4 FNMs I ran this in, and came 2nd in both of the other 2. This was against some of the top-tier decks in standard right now, too! Some of the games were VERY close (and I mean, VERY, close), but the Rage Extractor clock will getcha! I'd say this deck is closer to an 8/10 than 7/10, but it is definitely somewhat slow...It's pretty much just what I would expect out of a budget combo deck anyway. I'm just playing this for kicks (I run U/W when I want to get serious!)
Yes, Silence is better in this deck than Orim's Chant since it is ALL opponents (slightly better for multiplayer) and you can't kick Orim's, plus Silence is much cheaper. That being said, white is worth running in Iso decks simply for Enlightened Tutor and Orim's Chant. I forgot to post the link to my deck in my last post so you could check it out, so here it is! http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=218975
This needs white splash...
hahahahaha yes. THAT IS IT'S NAME NOW!
I like it. BUT! But but but!!! Look up Treachery! You will never even want to hear the words Mind Control ever again! Good illusion tribal man!
So is the Desperate Ritual still applied to every Lava Spike the Guildmage copies? As in infinite Lava Spikes? Because that's pretty friggin' awesome! U/R has always had some interesting multi-colored cards. I made a ping deck that uses Niv-Mizzet and Gelectrodes as well, if you'd care to take a look! http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=223490
Almost forgot, Enlightened Tutors!!!! They are expensive, but are SO crucial in decks like this!
Thanks for the comment! I like the idea of Snap being for free! I do really think that Boomerang is better though since it can bounce lands back and keep someone completely locked up (Boomerang is usually the first thing I imprint on Iso if I can.) Swords to Plowshares can deal with just about any creature your opponent plays (if you even let them play one!) I'm glad to see you have Memory Lapse in here! A lot of people don't pay enough attention to that card. It is absolutely crazy with Iso! Another card you may be interested in is Remand. I use it and Memory Lapse exclusively as my counters in my Iso deck (no Counterspells!) Why no hard counters? Because you don't need hard counters if you're going for a lock ;) Check out my Iso-Horny deck for Legacy if you'd like some ideas! It's quite a bit more expensive, but I've given a budget run-down in the description to make it MUCH cheaper. Good building!
MEMORY JAR WEEEEEEEEEEEE
TREAAAAAAACHERYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYyyyyyyyyyyyy..y.y......y.........y.y.y.y..y.y.yy..........y..................... :-( !
Why are so many people running Moorland Haunt with around 10 or less creatures in their decks? And decks that run SUN TITAN?? Drop all four Moorland Haunts, you're never going to use them. Ever. Use the other dual land and/or Inkmoth Nexuses for utility. All of those tokens are going to get creamed by Ratchet Bomb. I was considering using Midnight Haunting to fulfill the role of the sword carriers in my U/W, but until the Bomb cycles out it's just to easy to get rid of them. I would run another Sun Titan, as well. Two is sa-sweeeet! I hope this helps! This is going to be a HUGE deck-type in standard, you just have to get the balance right!
Thanks for the comment! I've been testing this out and Venser honestly wasn't doing a whole lot for me. He works well with some cards (I'm looking at you, Snapcaster..) and is definitely threatening, but I feel like a deck with him in it really needs to utilize him more i.e. way more cards that work well with his bounce. Disperse is a straight upgrade from Vapor Snag (except for the cost...) but I realized that one more mana to bounce back anything is probably worth the extra investment. I don't need 4 bounce cards in here really anyway. Forbidden Alchemy has actually been doing wonders for digging when I see it, so I added on more. More often than not, I'm dumping a bunch of spells and in reality giving myself more options because of Snappy. Speaking of which, I'm thinking of upping him to 4...
If that's what you want to use Glimmerpoint Stag for, you've got it all wrong! Throw in 4 Sundial of the Infinite, 3-4 Stonehorn Dignitary, and 3 Oblivion Rings. Trust me! Glimmerpoint + Sundial = permanent exiled permanents, adding Venser to this means that you can do it every turn. Venser + Stonehorn = obviously your opponent can never attack you O-ring + Venser + Sundial = Permanents exiled forever, and the O-Ring just keeps coming back to do it over and over and over and over again :)
I'm sure he would've had Sleep in here if only Sleep was legal in standard!
Mindshrieker is a pretty sick card, but honestly I'd just rather run Invisible Stalker for the same cost. Nothing is removing the Stalker except a DOJ or some sacrificing. Mindshrieker could possibly get through with more damage, and I like that you can use his ability over and over again depending on how much mana you have available, but he just doesn't have hexproof. Invisible Stalkers are hands-down the best sword carriers in standard now (even though a lot of people are hatin'.)
You're never going to use Moorland Haunt, ever. And it only taps for colorless. < _ < Almost every deck I've seen that has it "just in case" is NEVER going to benefit from it, ever. Put in 1 more Sun Titan so you can bring your stuff back, and put in more useful lands. You already have 7 lands that produce colorless not including the Moorland Haunt, I wouldn't overdo it.
No one has anything to say about the balance now? I need feedback! I'm going to be taking this to states and I'm kind of a standstill. I've been testing this like crazy but something seems off, I need some help guys! I'm very conflicted about the Invisible Stalkers/Midnight Hauntings. I want 1 or 2 more Midnight Hauntings to make this a little more CawBlade-ish, and damage consistent. The control seems fine but there's something about the creatures... Also a huge drawback to Midnight Hauntings that is stopping me from using more of them is RATCHET BOMB. As long as that thing is in standard, tokens just ain't happenin'. Thoughts?!?
