Well that should be interesting! Good luck brewing!

This is my base sideboard, I will be making edits as I see my meta change post bans.

Honestly I haven't made any changes, this is just going to be a running list as I make the deck and as the meta changes... :3

Exactly. Though Shard Volley is kinda similar to Fireblast... X3

Right, it is worth testing with, but it is significantly worse. Sometimes normally bad cards become good when they are needed to fill slots.

Exactly, but we shall see what happens in the tournaments... ;3

Right scapeshift does loose a lot from this. Honestly control is great, I just don't think it is nearly as good as it used to be; post-Khans it just isn't the looming beast it was during the post-Born of the Gods PT era.

Right and modern play does depend upon your budget sometimes, but you can also find cards that are decent replacements in the deck if needed; despise and duress are perfectly good for a deck like this and I believe Inquisition will be reprinted in MM2 so it may become a more reasonable card for your deck. :)

Also thirst for knowledge seems great in this deck.

Seems fair, though have you thought about spell burst in this deck? Recurring counters are nice, and since you will be up on mana a lot once tron is active, this may benefit the deck... :3

I think the hype is going to die down after the next major modern event, and if troll is good in modern he'll stay that price, if not he shall go down. I'm interested to see what brews he goes into... :3

Twin stays fairly the same, but control hasn't really been an amazing deck in awhile, they are just too fragile to do anything most of the time. Also scapeshift was pretty good still I thought?

I don't really like collateral damage, it just seems worse than shard volley, though the value gained by blanking your opponent's removal seems decent...

Honestly it was great while it lasted, though this deck wouldn't have lost a ton if you still want to play burn post banning, all you lost is whatever you put into steam vents and maybe geists, and both will retain their value and will be playable in modern so really you wouldn't have lost out.

I would run Dismember instead of Go for the Throat, anything you need to kill with Go in modern you can kill with dismember, it can be cast for 1 and 4 life which is a very beneficial option, and doesn't require you to have black mana like Go which is why I like it in this deck.

Right and that does combo with Intangible Virtue. I dunno I was considering this deck for modern a week ago and now it seems decent again, maybe you could consider a couple chalice of the void in sideboard? This card isn't nearly as good since Treasure Cruise is now banned and it hosed the decks running cruise, but it still seems very good in a format that will be rampant with 1 cmc spells (path to exile, bolt, thoughtseize and inquisition).

Honestly I thought they would give dig at least a little more time to see if it was really gonna be used like treasure cruise was. I mean it gave combo/control decks a boost they needed, and now we are going back to pre-Khans where the decks that aren't midrange or Affinity are pretty mediocre. We shall see if this is actually the case, can't wait to see if people brew some sweet stuff for the next major modern event! :D

Zealous Persecution was almost an auto include in the deck when delver was a major threat, but now that cruise is gone I would test with it. I would also consider discard spells like thoughtseize and inquisition of kozilek, these are spells that are really good if you are in black and should be used if you can afford them. Also is new sorin better than Sorin, Lord of Innistrad? Also Windbrisk Heights is insane in this deck. :3

Feel like maybe one of Wurmcoil should be fine, since the Commander 2014 version is really cheap... :3
