hahaha!
Lurker likes dark chocolate.
The idea is to get card draw with lens to keep rolling and land falling.
Vexing Shusher is a great card, but very not budget, and maybe unnecessary? maybe not three anyway.
That would open a couple slots.
what do u think should go in there?

I hadn't thought it, at least not since I veered away from tribal elves. You think maybe mana elves instead of odious trolls?

I had considered Burning-Tree Emissary, but the Woodlurker Mimic is fond of black/green...and if Woodlurker Mimic ain't happy, nobody is happy.

Thanks for feedback! +1 Rep

well, here's the 1st thought.
Green or green hybrid. I'd like to keep it mana friendly to help with keeping hand size manageable and to get max return on card draw.

So true...
It was tough. This one is playable I think and fun, but there were a bunch of cards I had to ignore for price.
The toughest part is coming up with a cohesive strategy to make more out of the dregs of each color, but there were invariably gems I discovered each time.

The Paragons, for example, are very reasonably priced and perform sturdily in a mono-colored deck.
Evolving is also a concept which seems pretty affordable, as is bloodthirst. Both drum steepled fingers while cackling with glee at proliferation.

I tried with each deck to make it about the color and not overwhem it with artifacts. Seemed like cheating to do otherwise. Even the white deck "Mach White", which is an artifact-centric deck is a White artifact deck.

Good times.

What do you think of the blue one?
I've been wondering which one would win should each of my $6 budget decks duel it out tournament style.

That is truly inspired!
I am very impressed! Crusading Knight with Urborg is fantastic!
Of course, once Kormus and Pestilence make an appearance than CK goes back to normal.
How about a Karmic Guide or two to bring back a crusading knight? It also has Protection from Black.

I cant't get over how well thought out this is. From Runed Halo to Zealous Persecution. Your selections have varied and extremely effective (read dangerous) interactions.

Best damn pestilence deck I've seen.
Like +1
and proudly.

Now....about that Nantuko Shade and Wicked Akuba.....

P.S.
Im working on Lure Infiltrator now.
Will post link here.

Excelsior!

One more quick thought...
You might get better mileage for less mana from Hunter's Insight instead of Harmonize.
Picture your trampling Sheltering Big-Daddy Ancient rolling over the meager defense (since all 4+ powers are dead)
or he has protection from defender's color... He wields in his gnarled branches a behemoth sledge, a hunter's insight and a bite worse than his bark (get it?...bark?)
You draw a full new hand of 7 cards (or close to it).

Just a thought.

Looking at this it occurs to me that both Wicked and Nantuko both need to be unblockable to do their best work.
Ahh...waitadangminnit,,,,I see it now. You are considering a Filthy Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth combo.
Kormos Bell and Pestilence is just Mean....I like it.

As for pestilence.... White Knight, Dawn Elemental, Melesse Spirit, Akroma (the white one) etc. Protection from black types.
Full set of Sun droplet. Multiples in play let you gain life from pestilence.
Wall of Resistance. It feeds on pestilence like fly larvae on jungle rot between the toes of soldiers in Vietnam... um...too much?

You are right though. You have 2 decks here. Pestilence and Swampwalk. Kormos bell ties them together, but Wicked and Nantuko are anxiously tugging the coach's sleeve and asking when they get to play.

I like the initial thought!
Good deal.

This is very clever! I love seeing old cards recycled put to good use!
Giant Growth and Rancor do unexpected and marvelous work here!
I like the interaction of Wall of Glare and Mother of Runes.

Off the top of my head, the only suggestion I would have is Behemoth Sledge. Its a Loxodon Warhammer for green and white and could help your Amrou Kithkin swing for the fences (like the playoff-bound Orioles). Actually, Loxodon Warhammer would work even better, +3 being a better power upgrade than +2. With LW, the life differential would be 8 per swing.

This would be an absolute blast to play!
Very impressive synergy.

good call! May have to tweak this....
This deck is meant to be balanced to play vs Banzai_Samurai, which uses Slate of Ancestry for card draw.
Your analysis is good stuff though. Once the Ninja of the Deep Hours is in play, that infiltration lens would be dangerous!

These older decks are comprised of cards that I have in real life and have actually seen play. I really should update these decks here on the vault to fit their RL counterparts.

same with my EDH decks.
Thanks for the idea! +1 rep

Nantuko Shade and Wicked Akuba are very similar. Wicked Akuba is great for sneaky maneuvers, but overall I think Nantucko Shade is more dangerous as a beater.

I'd like to see what you work out!
Maybe a Crypt of Agadeem for fuel? or Altar of shadows?

Well, we both have our work cut out for us.... as do the Orioles...

IN THE MUTHA LOVIN PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!

You know what? That's a great idea!
Hmm.. Budget $15-20... green...
Wheels turning....
Challenge accepted!

Finishing up a Spirit deck now, which is turning out to be horribly Not Budget.
Land getting pricey with 3 colors.
I may post it soon and let the community-at-large help me round it out.

Then I will further the Lure Lore

Ha! Northy has raised budget construction to an art form!
He got started on these super tight budget $6 decks and I decided to make one for each color.
Its a challenge to say the least!
Many highly-insulted rares were shown the door and shuffled away muttering about greener, non-basic pastures in other decks.

Hahaha! You too are clever! "dead serious"...ha!
Infiltration is perhaps my favorite cheap card draw in Modern that no one seems to use!
As a prize for your high praise, +1 Rep.

You are so right!
I'm in Baltimore and even we are disgusted by the rice video. Even the morons who cheered him in training camp.
I think its pathetic how the nfl is trying to save face by being sooo shocked when they knew all the information months ago and gave him the 2 game wrist slap.

Now they are trying to misdirect us to look at the video instead of how they handled it. The problem wasn't that they saw the video, its that WE saw the video and now they must scramble to avoid money loss. Bah.

Go Orioles! Clinched playoff spot tonight with win.

And now back to our regularly scheduled program..... Nice deck Northy :)

You get more devotion from Grave Pact than Dictate of Erebos. Just sayin.
Its not budget conscious though.
