Descriptions don't need to be pretty, nor very long. As long as you get the point across.

Also, getting a little creative with text can help some in making the description a little more appealing, if that's what you really want to do. You could just suggest the pictures and formatting thing in the forum section, there's a thread (threads?) dedicated to suggestions which I know Gary and Ian do read. The Vault has come a long way since I first joined and has only been getting better as they work on it.

More people should heed this advice. I, for one, almost never click on a deck without tags and often close decks without descriptions. I would love to give suggestions and / or advice more often, but without tags and descriptions, how am I supposed to know what you are trying to achieve?

Like I said, I know it's powerful. I'm just not sure I want to drop almost $180 just for 4 cards.

Let me know how it runs, would like to know if it's worth trying to get what I'm missing.

Also, while I admit it is powerful, is Aether Vial really necessary here?

Fetid Heath is another good source of {C} in this type of deck, plus it filters mana into the colours you need, helping cast things with two coloured mana costs (Tidehollow Sculler and Flickerwisp).

Anguished Unmaking can help get more things into exile for Wasteland Strangler to use. Plus it can exile any nonland permanent, not just creatures like Path.

Shadow Alley Denizen is a great card for its cost, but space is limited. Only thing I can see it replacing is Guul Draz Vampire, as the rest are great at their costs. And talking if cost to effect ratio, because I've effectively gone Aggro, Vampire Cutthroat's stats and abilities don't quite cut it.

Smother is good. Switch out Devour in Shadow for it. Bile Blight is good, but it better against decks that go wide, especially tokens, which makes it more of a sideboard card than mainboard. Beyond kill, I've never been a fan of holding up a card to react to the opponent in an Aggro build, so while Dash Hopes is great, it doesn't quite fit.

Thanks for the suggestions. I always value your input, even if I don't use it. That said, I can't believe I forgot about Tragic Slip, it's the original Fatal Push :P

I was bored, so I designed a budget Vampire deck:

No Assault Formation? I know the idea is to win off a X damage spell or Vent Sentinel's ability, but the Formation is a good backup plan too.

Just did a quick Gatherer search and found a few defenders that may interest you:
> Steel Wall: {1} for a 0/4. What makes this marginally better than Perimeter Captain is it's colourless.
> Cathedral Membrane: This cheeky defender can kill almost anything it blocks. Sure, it has to die to do this, but that normally means you need the thing you blocked to die too. This can also be played on turn 1 by paying 2 life.
> Wall of Tanglecord: Despite costing one more mana, this could replace Wall of Vines as it has a much higher toughness. And again, it's colourless.
> Traproot Kami: If you include a lot more duals that are both Mountain Forest (Stomping Ground) and Forest Plains (Temple Garden), this becomes MUCH better than Wall of Vines.
> Thallid Shell-Dweller: In addition to being a 0/5 for 2 mana, this thing pops out a Saproling every 3 turns.
> Battle Rampart: Biggest use here is to give the mana dorks or Vent sentinel haste.
> Carven Caryatid: A slightly bigger Wall of Omens.

The idea is good though, the execution not so much.

Solemn Recruit is a very good, problem is I can't seem to find space for it.
If I can get my hands on one, Voldaren Pariah may replace Yahenni.
I chose Bone Splinters over Altars Reap as my spell based sacrifice as I feel the removal is more important than draw.
Start // Finish was considered, and still is an option. Will see how this runs before trying them.

I am collecting Dread Wanderer. Only concern is Syndicate Trafficker can't sacrifice it. Will test it out and make changes accordingly.

A small problem with your infinite combo: Sporemound's ability is mandatory, not optional. What this means is that without Impact Tremors (or similar) to kill the opponent, or an instant to kill either Sporemound or Life and Limb to stop the loop, you'll be locked in a true infinite loop. The rules state that such an infinite loop results in a draw.

Gaddock Teeg is more a sideboard thing. Other than Tron, most Modern decks run at 3 or less, which is why Eidolon of the Great Revel is so good in RDW.

On paper, Tolsimir Wolfblood is awesome. In practice, I've found him to be too expensive. By the time I can cast him, I've normally won or lost.

The vigilance of Wilt-Leaf Cavaliers is nice, but Loxodon Smiter's abilities are generally more relevant in Modern. Alternativly, If I where to use a vigilance creature, I would personally use Citadel Castellan over Wilt-Leaf Cavaliers as it can naturally be bigger, despite starting off smaller.

It's a tossup on what you want between Shield of the Oversoul and Unflinching Courage. Both give +2/+2, but on one hand you get Flying and Indestructible, while on the other you get lifelink and trample.

I avoided saying this earlier as they're normly too expensive for most people, but more dual lands will help you a lot with all the gold cards. Of course I am talking about Windswept Heath; Temple Garden; and Canopy Vista.

It does have some interesting interactions with Bontu and Hidden Stockpile, but honestly I'd prefer something cheaper and instant speed, like Grasp of Darkness. Only problem I'm having with Grasp is it's {B}{B}.
