lol i only say that because of the deck of mine that it is in

http://www.mtgvault.com/drakeraenes/decks/death-by-exile/

this deck is the most hated deck i use, and that is bad considering some of the other decks i run more often like my infect deck

that is quite possibly the greatest understatement in magic. take into account what i said the first time i played my exile deck, "Island, tap, Extract, HAND ME YOUR DECK!" Now not only do i get to look through your entire library and see how its works, but i get to remove a key piece from this well designed machine your opponent calls a deck. now i know exactly what to get rid of with my later card removal. Extract is BROKEN BEYOND MEASURE!!!

i looked your deck over and i cringed a little. its too sporadic. the chances of getting the things you need are slim, and why on earth do you have one-offs? they arent even that good for lategame.

i have ashes in there because a lot of my frineds use nonbasic land, specifically shockland. it basically a giant middle finger for late game shenanigans

fair point, but i wasnt ever planning to play this outside of casual. its not cohesive enough to survive an actual tournament style game. plus of all my friends, im the only one who actually uses those cards. and the decks i have that use them are NASTY!!

i actually was heavily considering both of them. i run a U/B exile deck that my friends absolutely HATED. i would often use a turn 1 extract and it used to piss them off so much.

kalastria has won me games before. had a swamp and a pirahna marsh untapped with kalastria, nighthawk, and nirkana revenant when my buddy used chandra the firebrand's ultimate. i dropped him to 1 and then i cast malakir bloodwitch for the win :D

ok im going phoenix wright on this...OBJECTION!!!!!!! PW loyalty is in fact in the form of *gasp* counters! The comprehensive rules from Innistrad (most current for PW) state in section 3, part 06, point 5b & 5c that a planeswalkers loyalty is in the form of counters. (306.5b - A planeswalker is treated as if its text box included, "This permanent enters the battlefield with a number of loyalty counters on it equal to its printed loyalty number."; 306.5c The loyalty of a planeswalker on the battlefield is equal to the number of loyalty counters on it.)

Secondly, if you dont see how effective Hexmage is then you have no idea what the threats zipec listed can really do when the entire deck is built around them. I run hexmage in my vampire deck and the INSTANT she hits the field, she becomes marked for death. even moreso than a nighthawk or nocturnus. try playing at a modern tournament. you will see how necessary hexmage really is.

i see no Necropolis Reagent here. actually there are a LOT of good modern vamp not in here. is this a constructed deck or a buy-n-build? you could at least throw in Nosferatu.

good deck. i helped a friend design a vintage bolas deck that focused on getting the big guy out fast (boy did it ever. almost every game he had bolas out in about 4-5 turns) so things like this make me smile. grixis is a strong build if done right, and this is a great example of how it really can shine
