The Gitaxian Probe is a decent card. It is also a combo card with Vampiric Tutor. Basically 1 black mana and 4 life to get out my win condition. And, you are right, it is little life compared to getting my combo started. Good deal.

Just a question. I cast Ad Naseaum, it tells me to draw as many cards from my library as I like as long as I pay, in life, for each card's converted mana cost. What would I pay if I drew the Gitaxian Probe? One life for a blue mana? 2 life for the alternate casting cost?

Spoils of the Vault is nice! I see the Vampiric Tutor/Vault combo there. Pay 2 life, put Naseaum on top of my deck. Cast Spoils of the Vault to draw the card. Basically pay 2 life and 2 mana to get out my win condition. Good deal. I just hate both of those cards being dead cards after I get out my Tendril and cast it.

I mean. I cast Ad Naseaum for 5 mana and first 5 cards are this (for example): 1)shield sphere, 2)memnite 3)lotus petal 4) Vampiric Tutor 5) Spoils of the Vault. The Shield sphere/memnite/lotus petal can all be easily played for addjng to the storm counter/number...the Tutor and Vault not so much. Not much of an issue really...considering they are both only 1 mana each (l life lost each to Naseaum).

It is a really decent card, though, for this deck. Either I draw my card or end up killing myself and denying magiccontroller another victory (by his hands). :)

Spoils of the Vault shows much promise in this deck. It would really help me get out Tendrils of Agony much quicker. The only issue with the card is after i cast Tendrils of Agony and start drawing cards to earn up to 10 spells to cast for the win it becomes an empty card if I draw it using Tendrils of Agony...I just lose 1 life and can't cast it. If that makes sense. Just like Vampiric Tutor. I pay 5 mana for Tendrils. Then start drawing the top of my deck in order to Storm the opponent to death. If I draw a Tutor or Spoils of the Vault...it is hard to make those cards work as one or two of the 10 spells I have to cast in order to win.

Regardless, it would be a really nice card in this deck. Either I find my card and most likely win the game, or I kill myself and deny magiccontroller the pleasure of killing me.

I am tired of this dork magiccontroller beating me 4 out of 5 games. Trying to get the Goblin deck and Tendril deck decked out so I can beat him! Thanks Phoenix.

Nice first turn for you would be this: Play Swamp. Tap Swamp. Play Dark RItual. Play Quest for the Nihil Stone. Then play Duress, remove a card from their hand, then play Blackmail and remove another card from their hand.

So, your very first turn your opponent has lost two cards AND your Quest for the Nihil stone has two counters on it and is ready to start doing 5 damage every turn.

That is much faster than Liliana's Caress.

It is a very good card (better than Liliana's Caress) in a discard deck. If you asked me (but magiccontroller is a better discard deck maker...so I would ask him) my final decision would be to take out Liliana's Caress for Quest for the Nihil Stone (doing 5 damage every turn versus 2 damage), and take out the Sign In Blood for Duress.

I keep telling the dork to run Funeral Charm. He will not because his deck is built for multiplayer. I keep telling him that Funeral Charm is an instant and he can play it at the end of his turn, causing 5 points of damage to his opponent via Nihil Stone.

Blackfire Phoenix. I noticed you have a lot of decks and reputation. Can you look at my decks and help?
I have to play this black control discard in person once a month...and it beats me 4 out out 5 games. Was wondering if you could help me with my Tendril deck or my Goblin deck.

That is my Bounce/Discard deck. Check it out Bfrick2. I can't never seem to win with it thought. Same idea as your's. Discard, bounce, discard, bounce.

Will check. Fuego has a point too. Could run black and white. Black definitely has stuff that let's you kill yourself. Need to do some searching and working.

The Contaminated Ground is the only really bad choice in the deck, besides that Eridian22, I think it shows some promise. It is a lot better, I think, then his rough draft was.

Dork. Yep. White. Joking aside. I could splash red. Take out Worship. Take out Mother of Runes. Take out Indestructibility. Add in Comet Storm. Which i could damage myself for the win or i could use it to wipe out his creatures. Maybe Fireball or Blaze. But those are not instants. I would want an instant spell that I could damage myself at the end of their turn. That way I had 1 life during my upkeep.

Lotus Petal. Yummy. One of my fav cards. Love to run them in almost every deck. 2 mana on the first turn is killer (a Land and a Lotus Petal).

Indeed. Thinking this deck shows potential. Replace Worship with what? I thought Mother of Runes and the Myr were very hard creatures to kill. Hoping Worship could keep me alive just if I did not draw a Tutor or Near Death Experience. But suppose I could splash another color. Or prevent damage?

I am kinda liking red. It has x damage spells. I can have Near Death Experience out...and on my opponent's end step I can cast the spell on my turn. He ends his turn. My turn. My win.

See the combo with Worship and those creatures. Point is to have Worship out and the creatures. As long as my opponent can't get rid of them (and they are hard to kill), I can't die. But I agree, that I may could use a second color in this deck. Need to think about it.

Look up Fortune Thief. I could pull that off. It is red. It says if life is reduced below 1 it makes it stays at 1. It is pretty much a red Instant version of Worship. I could cast lightning bolts, chain lightning, and stuff like that on me.

With Near Death Experience out. For five mana I could cast Fortune Thief and then for 1 red mana I could cast Lightning Bolt on myself, taking me below 0, but Fortune Thief would take my life back up to 1.

But Angel's Grace is much cheaper to cast.

Might consider that. There are some powerful black/white cards in Magic. Vindicate is killer.
