Hmm ... the other elspeth is usually far better. She will murder big creatures, and pump out 3 soldier tokens ... 3 soldier tokens ...

Darien, King of Kjeldor is an option.

Hmm ... perhaps I could lend you my collection of 10 revised- era dual lands. That might do the trick. :)

Thank you for being so civil in your conversations.

Oh ... and it's bothering me, but I swear there is a modern - compatible version of Phyrexian Altar.

Of course. That's a valid and good strategy. Sorry if I was not very clear.

The problem isn't in the ability of the cards in question, but the amount of them. Anything that hinges on solely 4 cards to solve any issues with mana you experience, with no deck search, is bound to be highly frustrating. I suggest that further mana-fixing be added, like adamantian suggests below.

To further clarify, I meant that Chromatic Lantern would be a good modern substituion for Phyrexian Altar, along the lines of exchanging Second Sunrise for Athreos, God of Passage. Both of these I suggested in my previous post.

I say ... a chromatic lantern or something like shimmering grotto would be highly useful here. You know, I think 2 or 3 shimmering grotto would be awesome.

The deck you suggest is awesome, but sadly, it fails to be modern legal.

You need to replace Second Sunrise (Athreos, God of Passage) and Phyrexian Altar (Chromatic Lantern). To make up for the loss of sac outlets when you replace the altar, I would run another Devouring Greed and maybe stick some altar's reaps in there for good measure.

As a side note ... you should definitely work on the mana base. As it stands, there are only 4 cards in the deck that deal with mana-screwing issues. Investing in Evolving Wilds or Dual Lands would be a wise choice here.

Dawn Charm would be freaking awesome.

If you are playing 3 or 4 way ... congregate is incredible. I know that rox is good, but gaining 20 or more life is insane. Angelic Mercy may be replaceable. Pride Guardian is a tad , more survivable than that moth .... which probably won't get to trigger.

Secondly, you need some removal badly. Recumbent Bliss is pretty decent to stall.

Finally, and most importantly, you NEED other ways to win. Other than Angelic Accord, that is. Most of that is pretty expensive, but ... maybe serra ascendant?

For the record ... my original comment WAS heavy sarcasm ... with a healthy dollop of condescension for good measured. And I baked it until conversation was thoroughly heated. :)

Sweet ... maybe this rant will not be in vain after all, Puschkin. Maybe some of the viewers of this hit deck will learn to make this a more welcoming community. One can always hope.
