Updated 12/24/20 to current version.

Slow, very slow deck. 1on1 gets wrecked. Multi-Player gives time to build assuming I am not immediately hate killed. But fun when I get a chance to start getting things going.

12/24/2020:

Updated to reflect the deck as it currently stands.

At this point I am only looking for cards that are direct upgrades to current cards in the deck.

I appreciate it. This was an old build from C13 that I was putting in. Could definitely be tweaked for greater efficiency at this point though.

I never realized about the Cipher on Stolen Identity, that's a good catch.

Ive finally begun to actually put this deck together. All of the cards in the sideboard I currently own, those in the top are still to be procured. However, I have a problem. I am over by 5 cards. I am looking to figure out which to cut and am looking at both those I have and do not yet own.

Current Cut List:
Compulsive Research
Forget
Deep Analysis

I generally play in 1v1 matches, and Talrand has been doing beautifully. While I agree that if my commander is tucked it would be difficult to find him again, with the amount of card draw I am usually able to get him back pretty quick.

I'll look into the creature suggestions you have left, but I haven't found the lack to be an issue. Board wipes are the scariest things to me, so I usually hold a counter or two in hand as much as possible.

Every time I test this deck, I come up mana screwed. Expensive as it is, I think you need a play set of some more dual lands. Even if they are guild gates, need that black mana.

I loved your deck, mostly because I love artifacts in general. It inspired me to build a similar deck for casual play. I added mana production into mine though.

True, suppose I don't need so many multiple instances of those kinds in there.

Reliquary Tower already in, as well as a Venser's Journal
-1 Library of Leng

Tornod's Crypt leaving in
-1 Nihl Spellbomb
-1 Grip of Amnesia

Elixir of Immortality leaving in
-1 Cranial Archive

Phyrexian Tyranny, like many cards that blanket punish drawing, I skipped. Not a fan of taking the hit myself since I plan on drawing massive amounts of cards as well.

I'm still a bit over on cards. If you can think of any to remove, or if I could cut down on lands...

I love all the decks you build Northy.
I made my own Nekusar, Budget but not quite as Budget as yours. I also have a penchant for heavy Instant/Sorcery decks with fewer Creatures. Was hoping you might want to take a look.

Spiteful vision hits me when I draw as well, not sure I want that liability.
Anvil of Bogardan stops my opponent from having to discard all of the extra cards im pumping into his hand.
Temple Bell has promise, as does Howling Mine and Font of Mythos.

Maybe swap Spell Book for a Venser's Journal?

I'm digging it. I know that there are a lot of Nekusar EDH decks out there, but here is mine as well.

Sure would like to have some feedback on this deck of mine. Any positives, or areas of improvement, would be greatly appreciated.

I feel like my mana base just isn't working. Not sure what to take out in order to improve it. Would prefer not to have lands above $10 a piece though.

Northy: Have a request for a budget EDH deck. Child of Alara general. Creatures kept low (like none would be awesome), all instants and sorceries. Bounces, Counters, Kills, Wipes. After editing your Talrand deck (http://www.mtgvault.com/landolien/decks/talrand-edh-modified/) to my tastes I felt the desire to make a deck that is entirely built around keeping the board state clear. Prefer to keep it in the RUB spectrum, but willing to see other sides. If you can think of a better general that interacts well with this idea I would be willing to hear it out. Budget can run up to $150ish too, might make it slightly easier to work with a five color. Interested?
