Reejerey wins you games, he is a must have in a Folk deck, period. Was not aware that Preordain got a bullet to the head in Modern, me bad...

Where is Merrow Reejerey? you need 4.Why Serum Visions over Preordain?Telling time as a Brainstorm replacement is interresting, let me know how that works for you.
Your deck, (and its variations), is the reason I dug up one of my old tempo decks and started fiddling around with it. I was sick and tired of running into a variety of these decks everytime I went anywhere and needed an answer that would perform consistently against it. (There is that love/hate relationship again) Besides my Goblin deck containing Goblin Piledrivers laughing hysterically in the face of Progenitus before they Fling themselves at you, (yes, it is still very dependent on the first 8 cards and does need a Lackey or Vial to hit the table to take off), tempo is the only thing I have played that can dominate this. (Relic of Progenitus does do a number on goyf tho...) My point about Duress is that 1 in the board of a deck with 4 Thoughtseize in the main does not scare anyone as its chances of ever resolving against a deck type you need it to resolve against are next to nil... (Have you ever played Cabal Therapy in this deck?)I'll grant you the Arbor, did not consider how Lilliana messes with you...
Drainpipe Vermin over Pack Rat, it never really gets big and Vermins discard has a higher value to you.Swap 2 Appetite for Brains for 2 Inquisition of Kozilek. I've also found that Blackmail works rather well when you have 8 or so other discard cards to back it up, maybe swap out Rise from the Grave for a couple?
Lepellier; Awesome! Lets help this guy out as soon as he tells us what he has to work with.@Cch455; This could be fun! Lets do it!!
I like it it/hate it! It looks very good, but I have a couple of concerns...I'm a math nut that use statistical formulas to build my tournament decks, so I will share a couple of things that jumped at me:To take full advantage of 4 FoW in any deck you NEED a minimum of 16 other cards in the deck to be Blue, anything lower than that you will pitch a FoW to a FoW at some point... (Pact of Negation. Yes, I know I'm beating a dead horse but it is just damned good in your deck!)I understand the Vein, (not sure 1 makes a difference though), but the Arbor is just off. It has too many flaws to justify its use. You will never underestimate the power of a basic land after a turn 2 Wasteland trigger followed shortly by a sideboarded Back to Basics, (common Folk sideboard card), or even something as simple as a sneaky Price of Progress after a horde charge. There is quite a bit of self inflicted pain here with the fetchlands, Tomb and Thoughtseize. Self ping beyond 4 is generally suicide against a turbo/burn that dont give a shit about hand disruption as it is a card for a card and it will swing/sling for close to 30 on turn 3, (you give my Goblin deck 5 free damage and you better win unconditionally on turn 3 because I know I will grill you if you dont, plus I'll have a handfull of blasts in hand after sideboarding for game 2 and 3 to boot).I'm not sold on your sideboard either: You really should consider Living Wish and stash a copy of each of your Big'uns for both easy retreival and security, (Extirpates in a discard deck is killer), and keeping a Blightsteel Colossus in the board for those insta-kill situations is not a bad idea either. 3 Grips are out of control, what are you expecting to face that requires that many and what are you going to pull for all them? 3 Needles are also too many, what abilities will choke you up so bad that you 3 needles? 1 Duress is just junk, how is that going to make a difference? I know Dredge is not as popular in Legacy anymore because of the board hate but you have nothing! Oh, and you still have to remember those pesky goyf/mongoose decks. After just reading my post i realized that I did not mean to come out THAT negative, I really like the deck but I think you can make it quite a bit better with just a couple of tweeks...My 2 cents, take it for what it is worth...
@Cch455; Here you have a golden opportunity, you have two members that would love to help you make a killer deck!Let us know what Goblins you have available to you and we will both assist you in making the most of what you have and also tell you what you need to add, (can you say eBay), to make it even better!!You with me on this project Ixionnoixi??
I certainly hope that the other 199 are better then this as it is completely void of any kind of cohesiveness. Did you slap this together just to reach 200? Put us all out of our misery and burn this deck... ...with a torch
Yes, "the entire idea is hopelessly bad in Modern", and that is basically it really...It is WAY too slow, your mana curve is backwards, your combos are useless in a format like Modern, you cant protect any of them, your wincon will never resolve and by the time you are even close to playing any of the cards you think will help you are either dead or dominated.Do yourself a favor and abandon this idea. it is not going anywhere. Here is a free tip: Take a look at some of the recent Modern tournament top 8 decks online and imagine how your deck project would do against those decks. Not very well I am afraid... Sorry.
Couple of things: The third party Loam/Crime thingamajiggy does not really work because you are taking up valuable deck slots with Loam of "fix" the Crime drawback. That is a backwards way to use such a powerful card as Loam.Salvage makes no sense, what are you trying to do with that card in a deck that should clearly win on tempo then anything else?Lands that comes into play tapped are crap in a tempo deck, they kill your momentum, loose them. What would work is to go B/W Knight with Black hand disruption and White removal. If you loose the obscure/weird combo stuff you have plenty of room for about 18/20 Knights with plenty of hand wrecking and enough removal to clear the road for all those Knights.Just an idea...
I figure from your decklist that you kinda like Goblins, but I have to ask; have you ever seen a tournament ready Goblin deck?I dont mean to sound like an ass but: Both of the Goblin decks you have posted are the antithesis of a true Goblin deck, they are slow and cumbersome where a good Goblin deck is hyperfast, (yes, that means faster then just regular fast), and slick.I too love Goblins, and they have won me many tournaments and quite a bit of money over the years and if you want to know how to build a good one I would be happy to help you out...
Actually what I was eluding to is replace two Spell Pierce with two Pacts. You dont need counters for anything other then to protect you just before you go off and after that there is no next turn. The Probe does the same thing as well as being a cantrip, you will know what your opponent has in hand and if it safe to set it off, (it almost works a s a counter in the way that if you take a peek and they have nothing to disrupt it you dont even need a counter in hand as backup, just trigger it right there and then!). It actually works way better then Ponder overall...
One card easily overlooked in this deck is Undiscovered Paradise. It is incredibly powerful when mixed in with the cards you just mentioned, it has so many triggers and uses built into it when in this deck. You might get a kick out of knowing that I have a second version of this deck where the critters and Flings are replaced by cheap counters and Blue syphon/draw cards. That version offers quite a bit of protection and boy can you dig up the combos quick! ...and it runs smoothly with just a tiny tweek of the land mix.
Its not so much enhantment hate as artifact removal. I see tons of turbo decks fueled with AEther Vial locally and I also know damned well that I will see hate in the form of enchantments as soon as they have a chance to sideboard, (and they also feed Guttersnipe and the Fiend). Incinerate over Helix for 2 reasons; non red mana is almost exclusively used during opponents turn to tutor or wish, only on rare occations does it get used for removal. Oh, and I dont have 4 Helix! :)A flung Fiend is actually how this deck normally delivers the kill, (surprisingly often in opponents turn), it was not intended to be that way but I'll take it.I love WishBoards. Both as having access to situational hosers and as a "safe haven" for key cards, (cant disrupt or Extirpate my sideboard).
I really hate playing against these decks and I run into them all too often as I play mostly eternal. One variety that I've seen that really compounds the problem are the ones with Living Wish in the main and 1 Emrakul, 1 Blightsteel and 1 Ulamog, (for the mirror) in the sideboard. Now it just gets silly as you are certain to have the correct monster in hand whenever you feel like setting off Show and Tell.I'm a little surprised that you are not playing Gitaxian Probe and Pact of Negation, they are simply made for this kind of deck...
Putrid Imp gives you more kickers to get the cycle started, makes you less dependent on LED.Oh, and you are running WAY to many lands...
Hope you dont see CoP Red or Leyline of Sanctity
How is Vess working for you? I was thinking about including her in mine but she seems a little slow....http://mtgvault.com/magicviking/decks/budget-discard/
Coat of Arms is total junk in a Goblin deck. Too costly and WAY to slow.
You are missing the two premiere goblins: Goblin Lackey and Goblin Piledriver. You would likely benefit from a couple of Goblin Matrons to tutor up Krenko and Goblin Ringleaders for the all important draw when it stalls out. If you really want this thing to boogie then AEther Vial is a must. Goblin Sharpshooter can destroy an opposing turbo deck. Gempalm Incinerator can also cause havoc within opposing ranks.Emblem and Quest are garbage in a hyperfast Goblin Horde, loose them. Other then that you are on the right track...
