Hello danilasso, I had a big list of things for you to consider but I took too long typing it and it timed out and I lost the message before I could post it. But for the most part this looks like a solid discard deck as it is. Here is a link that does a really good job breaking down the different cards best in a discard deck. http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=366778 The only thing missing in your deck is defense and creature removal incase they get a few creatures on the board. I would add Vampire nighthawk, (Smother or Go for the Throat) and Mishra's Factory. Also I would run at least 18-20 lands, if you want the effect of running less then put in fetch lands. You really shouldn't count on dark ritual so much.

Nice build as always. If you ever decide to make this non standard then you need shrapnel blast and Atog. If non modern then artifact lands. Good luck with the deck.
This deck looks like a lot of fun to play. Nice use of lock down and unblockable horsemen.
Interesting looking deck and very cheap to build. I have a few suggestions for you. The 1st is that visions of beyond seems like a bad card in this deck. It is really only good in mill and even though you will be putting a lot of cards into your graveyard it will be a long time before you will get to use it. Get rid of it and Index and replace them with Gitaxian Probe. Also this deck really needs 4 Distortion Strike. Its better than infiltrate and because of rebound you get to cast it again next turn for free. You may also like Halimar depths if you are removing Index. Take a look at my version of this type of deck if you like. Kiln N Friends (U/R) http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=191771
Try Guilty Conscience. It starts an infinite combo with Stuffy doll until your opponent has no life.
Nice build. Since you have so many creatures with counters on them, have you considered Tezzeret's Gambit? Mentor of the Meek is worth thinking about too. Good Luck with the deck!
Just wanted to point out that Blistering Firecat had an errata to be a Elemental Cat. http://gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid=39737
No problem and thanks for the comment. I actually had intended to change this deck again soon to take out the Nova Chasers. It was a mixed card and really only worked when played by a Incandescent Soulstoke as a quick turn 4 10 damage slam. It was effective as a fatty to grab with Flamekin Harbinger. However it didn't work well with mimic vat because of the champion ability and if I play it for its casting cost it doesn't have haste and could get caught by my own meekstone. So it is a powerful card but had bad synergy in this deck. I updated the build to what I am going with now but I still haven't ordered the Blistering Firecat yet. Either way the deck is a lot of fun to play and can win games very quick against a lot of decks.
Hi there anarchy! Looks like a nice build and a fun quick deck. I started a while back with a deck that looked almost exactly like this and over the course of playing it have made a lot of little changes that have made it even better. This deck has a problem with running out of steam and if they have a lot of creature hate or a way of continuously pinging creatures for 1 or 2 damage this deck gets shut down. I have a few suggestions for you to consider. 1st is if you don't change anything else I would at least change Tezzerets gambit. Its a great cards and I understand you are using it to keep yourself from running out of steam but since you have no need for proliferation I would use Browbeat instead. It costs the same without the life loss and you either deal 5 damage or get to draw 3 cards so its a win/win situation. Another card that has really made a difference for me is Mimic Vat. With mimic vat, once I play a ball lightning that isn't countered and imprint it to mimic vat I can keep the pressure on with wave after wave of ball lightnings and helps keep card advantage. In the right situation you can also use it to steal a good creature of your opponents that you have killed off. Brute Force is another card I have had good luck with because it can pump a creature and give it increased toughness to protect it against lightning bolts and other effects. Lastly the deck wants to keep the opponents board clear of creatures that can block but it also has the problem of having almost no defense because all the creatures die at the end step. To help with defense I went with Meekstone to slow them down and keep their big creatues tapped. I also added a few Uphill Battle for a chance at complete lockdown. Here is a link to my build if you are interested. Surprisingly it is actually a little cheaper than this build. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=141270 Good luck with the deck!
This looks a lot more well rounded. Good luck with your deck!
Sure I'll take a look at it soon. Feel free to imitate any of my decks that's what this game is all about is building and refining decks. All I ask is if you find a card that works better than something I am using let me know.
Mana curve seems too high and your deck seems pretty slow. It will be powerful once creatures start hitting the table but I am afraid it will be to late by the time you get going. Part of the problem is that zombies by design are meant to be slow but powerful once they get going. I would run less equipment and cut Geth, Lord of the Vault completely. Cut 2 Rooftop Storm cause its expensive to cast and is a dead card after 1 is out. Also you need to add it some more removal spells like 2 more go for the throat and then I recommended some bounce spells like vapor Snag and Silent Departure. Also some draw spells like Think Twice would help. I think that those changes should help you out a lot and give you ways to stall your opponent until you build up steam. Good luck with the deck!
I like this deck quite a bit and was thinking of making something similar since I saw Invisible Stalker and Curse of Stalked Prey. Only suggestion I have is I think running a few swords would add a lot with all those unblockable creatures. I think Sword of Feast and Famine would work the best because pro black and green is nice, discard is powerful and you have a lot of card draw so untapping your lands and playing more spells after your combat step could help you a lot. Good luck with the deck!
This looks like a fun deck. Was thinking about making a spirit deck myself some time soon. I understand that It is more susceptible to removal but have you thought about using Adaptive Automations instead of Long-Forgotten Gohei? having an extra creature to block or swing with can be nice and It may get you an extra spirit sometimes when Geist-Honored Monk comes into play. Looks like the reason Scrubland is so much is becuase it is listing the alpha version that CCGHouse has for sale instead of the Unlimited or revised prices which are still in the $50-100 range.
Thanks for the comments! Yeah it is pretty close to a Modern legal deck. I couldn't play Dark Ritual and Sensei's Divining Top was banned in modern too. It would make the deck slower and a little weaker but I would just put in creature hate and some of my sideboard and still have a decent modern deck.
Hi there Danilasso! Thanks for the comment! I feel honored that this is the only deck you have commented on! lol That is a very good question that I have wondered about before. Unless you can point me toward anything that says otherwise, it is my understanding that it works. It is a bit confusing but from my understanding it is because Leyline of the void is a replacement effect. So for the 1st part of activating grindstone the cards are removed the game instead of hitting the graveyard. In the second part grindstone checks the color of those 2 cards and is not dependent on the cards being in the graveyard just that they share a color. However in the case of the combo with Helm of Obedience it says to continue trying to put cards into your graveyard until X cards are there. Since it keeps checking the graveyard and the condition is not meet you keep putting the top card of your library in exile until finally you have no top card of your library and then the card resolves because it can no longer trigger. I hope I am correct because it makes the grindstone/painters servant combo even more powerful because it can still win against cards that reshuffle their library. Thanks again for the comment!
Thanks again. I really love Planar Void and had never really looked at it before. I will use it in a future build. I agree that things can get bad for me quick if I haven't won by turn 3 or 4 but hopefully I can get a combo off or play Ensnaring Bridge before I get over ran. The reason Leyline of the Void is in this deck is that it exiles cards BEFORE they hit the graveyard. The reason this is important is Helm of Obedience will cause an opponent to completely mill out their deck because they can't place cards into their graveyard. It also protects mill against decks with Emrakul, the Aeons Torn or other cards that reshuffle the graveyard. Leyline of the Void is a mostly a dead card if it isn't in the opening hand but if it is then I get to play it for free. This makes a turn 1 possible win with this deck even if it is unlikely. Game starts, leyline of the void goes into play. My turn 1, play swamp, play 2 dark rituals for 5 mana total, play Helm of Obedience for 4 and pay 1 to tap. Target opponent must mill their deck untill 1 cards enters their graveyard but can't because of Leyline, so they mill their entire deck. End turn, Opponent can't draw so I win. Thanks again! Keep the comments coming! :-)
I appreciate the comments. I agree that Mox, Shield and Lotus all go great in this type of fast deck. I also really like Transmute artifact. I may try a almost complete artifact build some time in the future. I think you are confused about the Legacy format. Legacy does not restrict any cards, it is either legal or banned altogether. That being said, Sensei's Divining Top is completely legal in all formats except Modern. It is played in several top legacy decks and CounterTop decks are very competitive. Here is a link to the official ban list. http://www.wizards.com/Magic/TCG/Resources.aspx?x=judge/resources/sfrlegacy Thanks again for the suggestions!
Looks like a fun deck. I personally would go with Tezzeret's Gambit over Steady Progress, particularly since its a multi-color deck. Also Llanowar Reborn is always nice. Have fun with the deck!
Nice looking mill deck. I have a few cards to suggest. Oboro, Palace in the Clouds is great with crabs and worth running 1 or 2 of. Ghost Quarter is great because it can trigger an archive trap if they aren't expecting it or in a pinch you can sac your own land to trigger landfall. Also Dissipate is better than cancel. Some spellskites could be useful as blockers and to protect your crabs. I personally don't like traumatize and would run 3 spellskites instead. Good luck with the deck!
