Thanks for the comment! That deck is actually an older build. My goal with it was to be capable of winning by turn 3 but it was inconsistent. This is the current deck I am playing and it has been amazing for me, at least in my play group.

I like this deck rather well. It looks very fun to play. I actually put together a Repercussion deck a while back.

I think Forbidden Orchard, Koth of the Hammer and Meekstone all work really well in this type of deck.

I also recommend you back off on the amount of board wipes slightly and add in some more direct burn so you are not entirely dependent on your opponent playing a creature every turn. At least play the fourth lightning bolt and 2-4 other direct burn spells.

Good luck with the deck!

I like it. I have a few suggestions for you.

Check out Vision Charm, it mills and can cause other shenanigans plus it can be put on Isochron Scepter.

Propaganda is a great defense, Mill falls to aggro easily.

Upping your land fall can really help make Hedron Crab go into overdrive. Cards like Oboro, Palace in the Clouds insure you can play a land ever turn by bouncing it on the turns you didn't have a land to play. Also fetch lands make him mill 6 at a time. Try Misty Rainforest or Evolving Wilds on the cheap.

Brainstorm is a great card and makes jace's erasure even better.

Check out this budget mill deck I built a while back, I think you will like it.

Also heres non budget build thats got a lot of good stuff going on.

Why not put in 1 or 2 raging ravine for mana fixing and to be the occasional extra elemental.

You say this deck isn't top tier but in truth it is VERY close. The changes you need to make are very minor. Basically take Blakroc's advice and you will be set. Your amount of land is fine but could go to 18 if you really feel the need to cut land.

Reverberate and Seal of Fire that are out of place in this deck. Replace them with lava spike and Flame Rift and possibly up the number of Fireblast and you are good to go. Reverberate doesn't stand on its own and is awful disapointing to top deck when you are only 1 burn spell away from winning. Seal of fire is too slow and weak for legacy IMO.

Keldon Marauders are also very effective.

Here is my very similar burn deck that has been a real force at my local group.

Solid build. You have made a nice blue and black mill deck here. This is one of my favorite types of decks so I figured I would throw out suggestions and share some of my decks.

I really like Propaganda and Ensnaring Bridge in mill because it helps dramatically against aggro decks. Mill is usually a weaker win condition because it lacks a way to interact with the battlefield or your opponents hand in meaningful way.

Careful with Howling Mine. I find it to be too risky and will flat loose you the game to certain decks.

Here are 3 of my builds.

Budget Mill: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=344847
Non-Budget Mill: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=348737

I like this deck a lot, nice one. Bazaar Trader is such a fun card. The only major suggestion is to upgrade Dragon Fodder with Mogg War Marshal. Mogg ignore the echo and let him die. He will net you 2 goblins at the same speed as Dragon Fodder but you can also sac Mogg to Goblin Grenade or get added benefit of him going into the graveyard while still getting 2 goblins.

Another great trick with bazaar Trader is that if you gain control of a creature your opponent controls temporarily with an effect such as act of treason or Mark of Mutiny you can then gain control of that creature permanetly by activating Trader on the creature targeting yourself.

Another fun card for Trader is Immortal Coil if you have something to kill their graveyard with like Tormod's Crypt or Leyline of the void.

Good luck with the deck!

I still don't see how Quietus Spike works with this because unless you also have a Gorgon Flail giving you creatures +1/+1 all your creatures are 0/1 so if you swing you will still deal no combat damage to trigger the spike. If you want to go that route you need 4 Gorgon Flails and 2 spikes. You could also consider putting in something like Ronin Warclub so that at least the last creature you played each game will be buffed up.

Really not too shabby considering they are all M13 cards. Can't beat a sub 10 dollar deck any day and it looks like a fun deck to play.

No love for Intrepid Hero or Captain of the Watch even in singletons?

Oblivion Ring is one of the best removal cards in the game and its in m13 so I think it needs to be in here. Its better than Divine Verdict but what ever you cut, this deck needs 4 Oblivion Ring.

Serra Avenger is too good to pass up and most of the time it will do you more good than Knight of Glory or Attended Knight. I would find room for a 4 and cut some of the knights. Exalted doesn't mesh all that well with your Odric strategy anyway.

Good luck with the deck!

Personally I would splash green for crop rotation and living wish.

This deck is in need of disruption, Corrupted Zenikon/fate transfer is too much effort. Run 4 x Inquisition of Kozilek and 4 x Hymn to Tourach to devastate your opponents plan and give you time to set up your combo.

Grim Discovery is also decent for the deck.

Tombstalker isn't an awful 2nd win condition either.

Good luck with the deck!

I like this deck but it needs a little work.

1st off, I am sad to say that creature abilities do not count as combat damage so it will not make them loose 1/2 their life with Quietus Spike. I love Spike but it really only works on unblockable creatures.

Mindcrank seems unnecessary and will be too slow to do much for you.

Propaganda is one of my favorite cards, I would almost say go up to 4 since you never want to block with your creatures.

Goblin Sharpshooter is a powerhouse in this type of deck because he wipes the board.

This is what I would suggest.

I like the deck a lot, bet it was a beast when Onslaught was around but it could use a few updates.

Despite being 1 more to cast I would go with oblivion ring over Disenchant because it can answer so many things, enchantments, artifacts, creatures and planeswalkers.
I see no reason not to run 4 honor of the pure instead of shared triumph, its mana cost is easier to pay since you run daru encampment and it doesnt help your opponent.
I would go with Field Marshal over Soltari Champion and Rhox Pikmaster.
Gideon's Lawkeeper may be a little better than Whipcorder.
4 Path to exile would probably solve more problems than Deftblade and Righteousness.

Good luck with the deck!

Here are 2 very different soldier builds you can take a look at if you like.

its the best ramp for soldiers but you can also run Chrome Mox. Alternately Umezawa's Jitte is amazing in any creature aggro and the life gain can easily counter ancient tomb.

Ancient tomb is worth it IMO. Swinging on turn 3 with a Preeminent Captain 3/3 first strike, vigilance, Captain of the Watch 3/3 vigilance and 3 2/2 with vigilance is devastating and would only set you back 4 life. Imagine if your turn 1 was dropping a Jitte so that Preeminent Captain is also equipped. There is 4 life back and he is open to block.

Thanks for the comment. What do you think of this build? Thalia is so good at messing up combo decks that I feel she is a 3 minimum even with the legend rule. I added some better lands for Wayfarer to search for and added Mangara of Corondor as a answer for problems and to combo with Karakas. I also added Proclamation of Rebirth and Mirror Entity for extra combat tricks.

In that case Mother of Runes, Weathered Wayfarer, and Ranger of Eos are all very effective cards and are all humans.

Here is a Humans build I put together a little while back, I haven't actually built the deck yet but I think you will like it. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=241633

Nice build.

I suggest Ancient Tomb to speed up your deck considerably. Its really nice with Darien, King of Kjeldor and Soul Warden in play at the same time. Preeminent Captain,Odric, Master Tactician and Enlistment Officer all very powerful in soldiers.

Good Luck with the deck!

Ancient Tomb would speed this deck up considerably. Swords to Plowshares or path to exile are way better than charge across the araba and you could go down to 3 on Mentor of the Meek and Militia's pride. I also have got to suggest Enlistment Officer cause hes one of the best soldiers.

Stoneforge Mystic is a must add. Also consider Isochron Scepter and Orim's Chant.

I would rather run Rune Snag over cancel.

With 4 Enlightened Tutor consider a toolbox of singletons to search for to help you solve problems. Such things as oblivion ring, Ghostly Prison, Runed Halo, Wheel of Sun and Moon.

good luck with the deck

oh yeah, thats what i get for going on memory and not rereading the card, forgot about the +1/+1 effect from Mikaeus. Either way its a fun combo, props. On the positive you don't need to start the combo with putting a -1/-1 counter on Mikaeus and can instead start by putting it on the 2nd fume spitter.
