Very good, I will do so and also comment on the casual decks you need input for.BTW, I restrict myself to never proxy or switch cards between decks and also won't trade for more than 4 copies of any card with VERY few exceptions like Darksteel Ingot. That way I am forcing myself te be creative. Also, I hate the fact that I essentially only use a very small percentage of my collection, but with this policy I use way more.

Vivid March isn't the only source of blue - the Chromatic Stars, Guild tokens and Diamond Kaleidoscope tokens are all able to produce any mana I want. Sure, the land mix still looks odd, but I am running out of duals ... see, at some point I stopped retiring decks unless I am VERY tired of them. Right now I have something around 40 decks ... so I have to spread all my duals, fetchies, rainbow lands and so on. That's also one of many reasons why my decks tend to be highlanderish :)Yes, I can donate a pact early and I might against a single opponent that doesn't run white or green. Maaaybe in a team game. However, we typically play Pentagram or 2vs2vs2 (depending on #2 players) and then it would be too risky. First, there are too many other players that could help the victim out with a Disenchant. Secondly, if I donate too early, I give up too many resources that I need since the game will go on after I killed the first opponent. At the very least I need to draw those 2 extra cards. And you can be sure that the victim will pick me to discard 2, negating those cards, so I essentially have to use that one, too, before donating. You said in your introduction that you play since the dawn of the game - it's nice to see someone remembering something like FOrbidden Ritual from the good old days when casual was relaxing and creative. You might have fun checking out some of my older decks here (beginning with "Squee Tactics") - if you have the time which is probably not the case. Anyway, I thought from your description that we might be likeminded but then you were raving about extraction and thought you were all about toruneys. What I need is someone with your knowledge about all the old and obscure cards coupled with a sense of what casual really is/was about - I wander far offside tribals, block mechanics and the obvious combos.
I have one more Tuk-Tuk and some Seething Songs, but what to cut? Lovisa, probably, but beyond her?Epochrasite, while I love that card, will probably don't help much early on. It's a single chumpblock that does jack about tramplers, is killed by virtually anything and won't come back early enough. Also, I seriously lack flyers. I am considering:- AEther Membrane: Very good defensive capabilities and deterrant, however, that bouncing can backfire when the opponents have weenies with CIP effects- Roc Egg: Works similar to Tuk-Tuk and provides flyers (but can't do shit with Godo's Maul)- Wall of Resistance: Gets bigger every time it blocks and survives- Wall of Shards: I can certainly afford to pay the upkeep for a few rounds. I don't mind my opponents having a few more life (unless they play something like Necropotence of course) since when I hit later, I will be hitting hard.

You still run 2 Worms, maybe cut one of those as suggested by others. And maybe a Raven's Crime. If you can't make room main, make room in the SB - Ghost Quarter maybe?
As I said this deck was made for the lols and not intended to actually build it. Don't waste your energy on it :)I will publish my newest creation soon, you might try your hand on that. Stay tuned.
It's not eaxctly "neutral style" since we are NOT playing free-for-all ... ... see, it's actually complicated to explain, 20+ years of playing together and that jazz ... While I can see that Braids might upset people, I can always sacrifice him for itself. Besides, it's just a puny 2/2 - if your multiplayer deck can't handle a 2/2 without evasion, then the problem is not on my side. See, the decks of our group are closer to what EDH decks are: well oiled controllish resource generating machines that are built to last. There is enough removal to regularily clear the board. But I will consider using walls instead - or upping the amount of Imps.
Check out the tags - like most of my decks this is for multiplayer (mostly Pentagram)! That's why I don't use discard spells, Sinkholes and the like. That's also partly the reason why I don't run counterspells. See, the straighter the deck focusses on a particular combo (in this case Pact-Donate) the more I force my opponents to gang up on me. Did you read the description? I don't run Illusions for the same reason. Please note that that's not actually "playing sub-par decks on purpose", it's more like a technique I mastered in the past 10 or so years to maximize win percentages in multiplayer. Once built I usually keep my decks for years (the very first deck I posted here on MTGVault is still in active duty!) and with some exceptions I always play against the same group of about 8 people. A straight deck might do well first time I play it when nobody knows what to expect. However, after that my opponents know what to watch for and who to kill first. That's why I try to not be THAT much of a target as well as I try to diversify as much as possible. In parts that's also the reason why I usually go highlanderish - keep my opponents guessing what'll happen next even when they face the deck the 5th time. And BTW, blue is just a splash as of now, actually Donate is the only blue card and I draw all my non-black mana from one-shot sources, not exactly the basis to add counterspells. But if I was going to change that I might add Arcane Denial.
Why Maelstrom Pulse instead of Abrupt Decay? The latter should be better in this in about 95% of all situations this is going to get in. You said you want to keep the costs (money) in check, but Pules isn't cheap either. Crucible is missing for the same reason?Remember, I don't attend tourneys anymore, so my ideas might be off or impracticable, but sometimes you need a fresh view and ideas. For example, would Dark Heart of the Wood be a viable option to outlast the opponent? I know you don't have many forests but a single one is enough to get you going. What about Spreading Algae? I mean, you run Urborg ... and yes, it will hurt you, too, but you get your lands back. Sideboard at least? Is Tectonic Edge really worth adding? One might think that your opponent should never get to 4 lands against this deck ...Necrogenesis as kill con? Doubles as graveyard control. Could be better than that Leyline in many cases. Or Zombie Infestation? What about Waste Not?Hm, this isn't easy for me ... most cards that come into my mind aren't Modern legal :P
Hm, you are really praying that your opponent plays a creature-heavy deck, eh?^^Biggest problem I see is that your creatures aren't very tough either ... won't many games turn into borefests where both sides have no creatures left? I especially question those Royal Assassins. Oldschool as they may be - they don't really belong here. See, you have no way to tap creatures and they are just one of 20+ ways to kill creatures and only provide a 1/1 body ... I would prefer something like Dark Impostor in this slot (same mana cost but twice as big, can also kill and has the potential to get stronger - yes, it costs six to activate but you have lots of cheaper alternatives so you can choose your weapons depending on the progress of the game).Likewise I think 4 Dismember + 4 Tragic Slip are overkill (pun intended). I agree that you still need removal in the form of spells (since if the opponent has a method to kill your creatures, like, a Tim, then you are stuck), however, since your army is so meek you might want something more flexible, something that could also be used offensively. Something like Feast or Famine. Or Profane Command. If you have the time, please check out this one:http://www.mtgvault.com/puschkin/decks/faustus/
Slowly ... but it started on a sunday evening. Let's wait for the weekend, it should start rolling by then. BTW, you are supposed to post something like a profile there (just read the descriptions) so others know whom to ask for advice for which deck.
Don't worry about the price of the Opal, it's unlikely to ever drop in price so you can sell it later without loss.
* Porcelain Legionnaire could smooth out your mana curve.* You might need lifegain - and soon. Basilisk Collar would be a good addition. I know it's not from the intended block, but given the fact how fast you burn through your own life, this might the one exception you'd allow. You can use Batterskull instead of course but its much, much slower. Whip of Erebos would even be better, but you don't have any colored mana besides those Lotus Blooms.* Talking of those - do they really work? You have to wait three turns and then you get three coloured mana at once. That doesn't sound all too helpful when you want to cast, say, Apostle's Blessing or two spells of different colours. Alternatives:- Mox Opal (this is even within the intended block!)- Paradise Mantle- Sphere of the Suns (also within the block!)
Hello. You have been chosen to be part of the Deckhelp Alliance. Please check this out:http://www.mtgvault.com/puschkin/decks/the-deckhelp-alliance/
Yeah but planeswalkers always never live long enough to do so, Ashiok needs 5 turns to do so - won't happen. I mean it might someday but that's nothing I can count on.Board swipers can still be a good addition, there is always Nevinyrral's Disk (which spares planeswalkers).
Hey, old friend, if you ever come back, I want you to be a member of this:http://www.mtgvault.com/puschkin/decks/the-deckhelp-alliance/
Hello. You have been chosen to be part of the Deckhelp Alliance. Please check this out:http://www.mtgvault.com/puschkin/decks/the-deckhelp-alliance/This will help getting you real comments for your decks :)And maybe replace Fog with something else ... there are so many good alternatives, even in Modern. For Example Winds of Qal Sisma.
