With "if Eminem doesn't work for some reason" I meant "if all my Eminems get plowshared, lobotomized or if I don't draw them". In my playgroup you just can't count on a single key card to do all the work for you, you absolutely need a backup plan.

But it costs 6 and is only legal in older formats. That usually prevents it from being more expensive than a few dollars. Well, but these days most older cards are either dirtcheap or very expensive :)EDIT:Checked my collection and I own one, cool, so I have to sell it quickly before it gets reprinted.
I just got 3 Deathrender for cheap. What do you think, should I put some in here? In mean if Eminem doesn't work for whatever reason, then I have to hardcast the other bros and they all cost 6. So Deathrender might be very useful in this.
Right. Didn't check the price this time, was just so happy to find a solution.EDIT:What the heck - WHY is this so expensive in the first place? Just because of Commander?
Would Mycosynth Lattice allow you to play your opponent's red and green spells?
Pemmin's Aura!!!
* If Ornithopters and Military Intelligence are so crucial for the deck, you should run them in 4s.* Alternatives for Obelisk of Urd would be Adaptive Automaton and Brass Herald.* Sage of Epityr is a Sage Owl without flying but one mana cheaper, which I think is crucial for this deck (and Military Intelligence)* Are you hellbent on Modern? Thalakos Seer is soooo sweet with ninjutsu ...* Invisible Stalker would be another great creature choice (and I am surprised not seeing him in the mix).* I don't see the point in Kusari-Gama when most of your creatures are unblockable anyway. Possible repalcements:- Sai of Shinobi (if going Legacy): They would could be equipped on any ninja that comes into play via ninjutsu- Umezawa's Jitte (if you can afford them)- Banshee Blade* Creeping Tar Pit if you can afford them. * One problem with this deck is that once a ninja has been used, it sits on the battlefield and acts like an ordinarty creature. Keymaster Rogue would be perfect for this deck! He bounces a ninja back to your hand and is unblockable himself, so next turn the ninja can do it's deed again.
* Making this modern:-Goblin Bombardment: Easiest replacement would be Barrage of Expendables. Other possibilities include Arms Dealer, Tarpitcher and Voracious Dragon.- Gempalm Incinerator and Goblin War Strike: Hm. Skirk, Firemarshal? Not really. Of course you could always drop a Coat of Arms and just overrun your opponent if you have so many gobbos out. And Voracious Dragon also fits the bill somehow, but you lose them in the process. Ah, there it is: "Massive Raid" and "Burn at the Stake" :)* Maybe he is too slow for you but Squee, Goblin Nabob would fit in this since you have to many sacrifice outlets and cards that need many Goblins in play (plus wouldn't at least one be part of this dysfunctional family?). Same is true for Goblin Assault. You probably want the latter because it is less mana intensive. Be aware, however, that with Goblin Assault, ALL gobos have to attack each turn, not only the tokens you built with the assault!* Mudbutton Torchrunner ... for even more diversity I would replace one of them with TukTuk, the Explorer.* Lash Out ? Of all the direct damage available this one? I haven't even heard about it before ... the deck isn't expensive enough to ensure you win the clash and it also doesn't have means to stack the library. * Festering Goblin is probably more useful than Prickly Boggart.* Slavering Nulls are very efficient in a black/red gobo deck. I don't know which other member should be kicked out of the family but if I was Auntie Wort, I'd cut Goblin Strikers out of my will.* Talking of Auntie Wort - Wort, the Raidmother didn't make it to the family union because there aren't enough instants and sorceries?* I would run Infiltration Lens instead of Explorer's Scope but that's just me.* Tuktuk Scrapper instead of Goblin Replica?* Auntie's Hovel :)
WIth the annihilator the case is crystal clear, the other one, I am not convinced yet ;)I'll check out your decks in the upcoming days, promised.
Kitsune Mystic needs 2 auras on it in order to flip before I can use it's aura moving effect, I don't think that'll work out. I'll stick to Aura Graft/Finesse for now.Academy Researchers, however, are surely a must-have in this, thanks!
Wheel of Sun and Moon is cool, however, I'll have to trade for it first. My opponents are veterans that play for 15+ years straight, there are no current block mechanic or tribal decks, so no need to insert dragon-specific hate :)Gobo Bombardment doesn't do enough (considering I am sacrificing big, mean things) and Ashnod's Alter is risky because we still play with manaburn rules. Attrition - this is a considerartion. But actually I was more thinking about the line of Momentous Fall but I think that's too mana intensive (because stealing also costs and I might have to sac in the same I steal). OR, thinking about it ... ha! Helm of Possession :)" you need to have a way of putting creatures back into your library somehow" with that you mean if I draw them? I could use Brainstorm and/or Scroll Rack. And from the grave ... Reito Lantern? Soldevi Digger?
Hm, the rules changed a lot then ... let's see ... North Star? Anyway, single discard won't get you far. Feel free to ignore this advice, I'll shut up then :)
You already run Celestial Dawn in order to play red and green spells and I added Fellwar Stone and Forbidden Orchard in order to play those. Even if you don't draw them, single discarders are not worth the trouble in multiplayer. If there are 3 opponents left, they draw 3 cards in total, but you can only neutralize one of them with something like a Coercion. It's not gonna work. If you really want to keep discard, use something like Disrupting Scepter.
* I assume, since this is EDH, that this is for multiplayer. If this is the case, I would stay away from single discard spells like Coercion, they are really bad in multiplayer because they create card disadvantage. Also, in this case, they are contraproductive since every spell you discard is a spell you can't cast yourself with Triplets! If you still insist on discard, look into cards that generate card advantage or that have a second use beyond discard. If Mind Twist is too pricy for you, there are other nice cards. For example I am missing the very excellent Probe! But really, get rid of stuff like Castiagte, all that does is limiting your Triplet options.* Sen Tripltes only have a toughness of 3 and are coloured artifact creatures on top of that. Read: They are very fragile (for a Commander). Note that any good EDH deck is hellbent on killing, exiling, neutralizing or shuffling away enemy Commanders. So, you have to be prepared for that, you need to protect it! You run the excellent Hindering Light but forgot about Confound. Willbender should be in the creature mix. Valorous Stance is a versatile card. To make room you could ditch Silence (doesn't do much) and Perplex, which, again, is counterproductive regarding the Triplets! * Inspecting the creatures I found the same problem: All those discarders that are working against the Triplets! What you need instead are ways to prevent the opponent from playing stuff or at least slow him down! The perfect card to replace Hypnotic Specter & Co would be Grand Arbiter Augustine IV because he both slows opponent's down and helps you casting their stuff. I know he is around four dollars but he is so exceptionally good in this that I'd try to cut some dollars somewhere else (and I do think since EDH decks have 100 cards it wouldn't kill you to set the budget line at 40$). For the same reason, Angelic Arbiter should be in this.* Esper Charm: suffers from the same problem! Since you don't want to use the discard part of Esper Charm, you'd be better of replacing it with Dismantling Blow, which does BOTH of the two remaining options (and could also be used on an artifact instead).* Another problem of this deck: You need to somehow get red and green mana in order to cast red and green spells your opponent might have in hand. However, by EDH rules you are not allowed to run anything that directly produces G or R like Mountains. The solution: A) "Rainbow" lands like Grand Coliseum and b) Fellware Stone and Exotic Orchard should be in to help casting whatever sits in opponent's hand! * Necromaster Dragon: Don't play him! Milling your opponent randomly for 2 is not only pointless in EDH, it is outright dangerous because most if not all EDH decks play out of their graveyard in one way or the other! All this does is giving your opponents more options to reanimate! If it's the zombie tokens you want, play something like Syphon Flesh which is a VERY potent card in multiplayer but as friendly to your purse as that Dragon.* Demon of the Wailing Agonies:The problem is that he doesn't do much for his mana as long as you don't have your commander in play. The problem with this is that commanders typcially spend 90% of the game in their command zone. You need cards that help you getting into a position where you can safely cast Sen Triplets, not cards that are only good if the game is already running good for you. There are countless possible replacements, I'll limit my suggestions to creatures that are versatile and useful but close to p/t and mana cost of the Kraken and Demon they replace (and budget ...):- Bloodgift Demon- Archfiend of Depravity- Archon of Justice(The Kraken is nice enough on it's own)* Tower Gargoyle:I don't see why you added this. Budget or not, a 4/4 vanilla creature for 4 mana of 3 different colours stinks! Play Conundrum Sphinx instead, it is less troublesome to cast, less fragile (because it's not an artifact creature) and has a positive ability on top of being 4/4 flying. Budget? It's a 30 cent rare. Check.* Jetting Glasskite:Also a weak choice. It can dodge the first targetted removal spell but still dies to a lot of other things. Moreover, a 4/4 flyer for 6 mana without any other abilities isn't a big threat and nothing anybody would want to waste a Swords to Plowshares or similar on anyway, so Glasskite's ability is kind of pointless. If you want to stay fancy, try Mist Dragon instead. Phasing out whenever you pay 5 mana is much better than Glasskite's static ability. A more conventional choice for a replacement would be Pristine Skywise. Costs also six but is beefier and if you have any instants ready you can protect it pretty well (could also be used offensively making it unblockable in the right situation, or could be used as a surprise blocker etc.).Sum up:- Coercion- Castigate- Appetite for Brains- Demon of the Wailing Agonies- Necromaster Dragon- Tower Gargoyle- Jetting Glasskite- Perplex- Silence- Hypnotic Specter- Dimir Cutpurse- Esper Charm+ Probe + Willbender+ Valorous Stance+ Confound+ Bloodgift Demon+ Archon of Justice+ Archfiend of Depravity+ Spyhon Flesh+ Pristine Skywise/Mist Dragon+ Grand Arbiter Augustine IV+ Angelic Arbiter+ Dismantling BlowExcept for the Grand Arbiter Agustine IV, all of the suggestions are budget, too!
It says "Whenever this creature attacks or blocks" not "when this creature is declared as an attacker". Since it is put into play attacking it is, well, attacking and should get the bonus. You might still be right of course, the question should be forwarded to my Magic lawyer :)
Raksha: He actually gives himself his bonus. The reasoning was that I will get all my bros out via Eminem anyway, so it doesn't matter if he costs 6 or 7. And the idea was that, with an Veteran's Armaments in play, Raksha would come into play via Eminem, auto-equip the Armaments and then attack as at least 7/8 doublestrike, which would make him the hardest hitting of the bunch. I know there are no other cats and that this requires 3 cards, however, see, this is a fun deck, a cute side project, and I try to make use of my collection. Raksha was sitting my binder for ages but I never felt like doing a cat deck (actually tribal decks are in my top 3 least favourite deck types to make). This is why you put more effort into this deck than it is worth, I wish you would instead check out some of my other decks that could actually need help:http://www.mtgvault.com/puschkin/decks/dont-mind-the-hive/This one I am totally stuck and will probably abandon the project.http://www.mtgvault.com/puschkin/decks/biting-shamans/http://www.mtgvault.com/puschkin/decks/oath-of-thieves/These are still in brainstorming stage.http://www.mtgvault.com/puschkin/decks/occ-wings-of-change/And this one is almost complete (missing some cards that I have to order) but it probably needs help, too.I will return the favor twicefold and comment on any of your decks you want.
Reconnaissance and first strike: I am not so sure if that is possible anymore under "new" rules where damage doesn't use the stack anymore. And even if so: I have no room in the deck to emphasize on that subtheme (also, a regular of my group has a deck basing on Reconnaissance). But great finding!Council Guardian: I opted against him because in the end he would just be a 5/5 with protection from the currently least desireable colour. I'd rather add more Sun Titans.
Ah, yes, adding the single Sunhome that I have :)About Darien and Pallisade Giants: You are right about bad synergy between them. However, a single DK is all I have, so I don't think I'll have both out at the same time very often. More importantly, it's for multiplayer, I'd rather be safe than sorry. I just realized that the Unquestioned Authority is SICK on Pallisade Giant! It basically means that boht me and ALL my creatures are completely immune against combat damage, offensively as defensively! Guess I should run 4 of them then ...
Replaced one Gift of Immortality and Reconnaissance each to make room for 2 Unquestioned Authority. That one rocks on Captain Eminem. It doesn't save him from removal spells, though, that's why I also replaced one of the Armaments with Swiftfoot Boots.
My plan is to tell him secretly and when this goes off and flattens everybody, HE will get the blame for building such an annoying deck, hehe.EDIT:We play in a group of regulars for almost 20 years now, so you can imagine the rivalry and personal vendettas foing on :)
