Mainly the 3 Grasp of Darknesses on the SB (I dont really expect to see much flying with all the flyer killers avaliable to green and white, but I'll throw in 2 doom blades and something that kills a black guy too on the sb.

I must say I have never been impressed with the Mantra until I playtested it in this deck. Wow.

Also, Dark Tutilage is awesome in this deck.

Just gave this deck the "Tournament Quality" label. Dunno why I didn't before, as over the past week this deck has become one of my two go to Standard decks, and it's been messing havoc in my local club. This is definitely a deck I will be taking on my next tour, most likely along with 'Actual Stompy', 'Vampire Blitzkreig', and, if I can make it consistant enough, my newest aggro deck, 'Kuldotha Red'.

I just gained a whole 'nother level of respect for you fluffstar, the perpose of this deck just hit me after reading your comment and going through the deck again. This is CRUEL and I love it! Unfortunately, being a mainly Boros-style mage makes me hate you for designing a deck like this, but you can't have everything in life. The hat is off to you man, this is one awesome combo-control deck!

It takes you 5 turns to play DoJ. It usually takes me about that many to win. Wanna race? Even if you cast DoJ you are still at almost no life, and my Bloodghasts come right back and eat you.

Pyroclasm is the true weakness of this deck. A turn 3 Pyroclasm woud seriously disrupt my game, but who plays Pyroclasm in Standard? Seriously. The key to sucess is to know your meta-game. This deck can outrace RDW, destroys Planeswalkers before they can get more than one on the field, and is simply too fast for Jace Control to contain. True, this deck (like all T2 decks) has its bad matchups, but the reason this deck is getting so much attention is that none of its bad matchups are widely played right now. I mean, RWU, Grixis, all the red control decks are dead in the current standard, since most of them relied on Bloodbraid Elf and/or Earthquake as their main red card.

That said, the SB does provide some defence against red control, though the amount of defence avaliable to mono-black is slim.

You make little sense. I will be the first to admit I am a Standard mage, but I fail to see how this deck can tear mine apart. I drew many hands from your deck and still don't understand it at all. How do you win?

Not if you treat if like a creature. Think of it this way: Eldrazi Conscription is your biggest stomper. But since its actually an enchantment, it is MORE useful. No Eldrazi has trample right? What If you throw Eldrazi Conscription on a Gurrak's Companion? He gets "upgraded" to being an eldrazi, but he has trample.

*sigh* It really sucks when people don't read the introduction to your decks, but rather assume you know what they are doing.

This is a flavor deck, so Kalastria Highborn has no place in it; the point is to make a deck who's backstory encompasses all the cards, but is also playable in a match. This deck is completely focused on Malakir, so Kalastria cards are not going to be used.

I have considered all of those cards at some point. However, none of them are truely useful in this deck because they are either unreliable or slow. By turn 4, this deck is well on its way to winning the game, and taking the time to drop a Planeswalker that is only useful anyway if I draw him on turn 4 is not a good idea. The Bushwacker is simply too unreliable to be effective in this deck, so I replaced him with a Goblin Guide. The Skyfisher is also a nice card, but he makes me return a permanent to my hand (thus slowing down the aggro).

Ummmm,
1) I'm not throwing Green in
2) Lhurgoyf is NOT better than Khabal Ghoul in this deck, because if for some reason a card is removed from the graveyard Lhurgoyf loses power

Pithing Needle is an awesome call, as is a lone Mindbreak Trap, and i'll probably throw in the Claw too. I dropped the Relic because its simply the same as the Crypt but slower and more costly.

Thanks for all the sideboard tips guys; I play standard tourniments mainly so I'm not that up on the current legacy meta-game the way I know the Standard one.

Interesting ideas, although I dont think I will adopt too many of them. I don't see a point in buffing my guys too much really, although it would speed up the kill so I'll think about it. For the Unearths and the Gravepact, a creature that is regenerated isn't sent to the graveyard so they won't be useful really.
