Have you ever thought of doing a series of budget EDH decks? I know you've done 3 so far, but I think seeing a series would be very cool, especially because EDH isn't always easy to keep budgeted.

Sure thing man, I'll also ask Arty to look at it. Esper and control come naturally to him.

Alright, smiley face aside, here's what I have to say. While there may be a place in magic for my decks, it's not for people wishing to start getting in to the game. They're sometimes hard to play and often expensive. It is such a powerful recruiting tool to show beginners these countless budget decks for them to get started.

Now, whenever someone comes into our shop and wants to start off with a few ideas, I point them strait to NorthernWarlord. I've said it before and I'll say it again, you're a saint in the world of Magic: The Gathering.

I suggest adding a Riftstone Portal or two. Just pitch it with Entomb and you're good to go.

It's also worth noting that Tidehollow just so happens to be one of the more difficult creatures in the game to get rid of through the use of kill spells. Doom Blade, Terror, Go for the Throat, and in fact, Victim of Night all don't work. Like I said, it forces people to make bad decisions =]

I was blown away by it too. We talked about the rule and one person said they wanted to make a Kaldra EDH and someone else said they'll build a Genju of the Realm deck, but this guy said "I'm going to build an Urami EDH and it's going to be good". It really IS good too, and it still catches me off guard to this day. This is the token he uses by the way.

Only other instance where I've seen Urami used in a non-joke way is with a guy at our shop who runs an EDH with "Urami" as the general (as by our rules, anything that can become a legendary creature can be used as a general). It's actually not that bad...
