With your first combo, I've been trying to figure out a way to make it infinite mana with Pyretic Ritual--with it being an instant, you just have to figure out some way to make the red mana blue. The two things I can come up with are splashing white for False Dawn, or using Gemstone Array.

With a Traing Grounds, Izzet Guildmage and Gemstone Array out, cast Pyretic Ritual. Use RR to put a charge counter on Gemstone Array, remove it for U to use Guildmage's ability. Every time you copy it you net R. Fireball ftw. Seriously convoluted, but fun.

I agree. I was trying to keep the higher cmc guys out, since your lands don't untap during your upkeep either; however, arbiter would be a good addition.

That's what's awesome, you die just before the fireball goes off.

If you like World at War, there's always Hellkite Charger, or Breath of Fury that will also work.

How about Mountain, exile two elvish spirit guides, channel 20 life for a Fireball?

Do you find 24 lands really necessary, with such low casting costs (not counting Archive Trap, which will usually go off for 0)? I would think you could safely run 20 lands in this deck.

I would keep the coat of arms, ancient, and mycoloth. If you're gonna keep Bramble, throw in Whip Silk--G for two saps, G to return it to your hand and do it again. I'd agree on losing savage, and fungal--fungal is a great card, but not necessarily here.

Glare isn't just good for tapping attacking creatures---you use it to tap creatures that ping for damage, that let him draw cards, unblockable creatures, creatures that buff unblockable creatures...the list goes on. Glare in these decks is almost always a game-ender.

This looks pretty fun. You might think about Personal Tutor to search out Peer Pressure.

If you have to sacrifice her, how are you going to gain life every turn?

The mana cost is a little high, but a buddy of mine's Cleric deck stalls everyone out once he puts out Glarecaster.

Good call, edited. Yeah, I probably wouldn't ever build this deck irl, just because I would feel like such a douche for playing it, lol.

I thought so for awhile too; but if you'll notice, they reprinted it in the Commander series, so it's definitely not banned in EDH.

I love in my mono-red dragon deck, a turn 3 (or sooner) Taurean Mauler into a turn 4 Crucible of Fire...gets ridiculous.

Keep in mind that the General has to do 21 combat damage for the win, not just any damage--using Maga's ability you'd have to do 40. This is one of the first EDH decks I've seen where it is useful to have your Commander die, though, which is pretty awesome. A skullclamp and some cheap creatures to sac might give you a pretty powerful draw engine.

If you do splash white, Timely reinforcements would be a good addition.

Totally understandable. I also thought of enchanted evening, though I'm not sure how great it'd work here.

If you go that route, Deathrender into a Raksha is a great combo for getting her out early.
