First off my 2 posts were written one right after another and i was wrong about the stonehewer giant. Next, Phyrexian metamorph works here cause you want as many options when copying the lord not just four. 8 chances are better than 4. Not a fan of dealing damage to myself but for 2 damage and 3 mana, i found that i use that more than you would think. yes its 2 mana for the image but there have been more times than not that i didnt get it for awhile. You can say fuck Phyrexian metamorph, but its won more games than you think. Plus you will want more chances to copy things like grand architect and wurmcoil engines.

If you want to equip any kind of illusion, equip Phantom Warrior. Only rules on this card is Phantom Warrior is unblockable. Bonus right? Also Phyrexian Metamorph works in an illusion deck. But equipment on M12 illusions doesn't work. If you use the Stonehewer, then they are the target of the Stonehewers ability. So they die. I love my illusion deck but i found i needed an alternate win condition like the Grand Architect/Wurmcoil Engine combo. Possible turn 3 wurm.
Stilfe is pretty much the only thing that can stop the illusion effects.
You cannot put the cloak on your dragon. With the lord out they may have hexproof--can not be the target of a spell or ability your opponent controls-- but they still die to your own spells. When you cast wispersilk cloak, you have now made your dragon a target. Hence it dies.
The Stonehewer Giant still targets a creature because it says "a creature you control". You have to name the creature, hence it is now a target. BOOM illusion dies.
I noticed the *walk cards. that is pretty cool concept but those would be more of a situational thing. Maybe sideboard them for the decks that are a different color. No point in having mountain walk if they are playing U/W or B/G. Replace these or sideboard them: 2x Elite Vanguard 2x Cliff Threader 1x Devout Lightcaster 1x River Boa 2x White Knight Here is my deck. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=74294
I would try to find a way to add Umbra Mystics. They turn all your auras into umbras.
This will be the last weekend you will be able to play this in standard unless you change some cards out. All of these are phasing out with the new set Innisrad: Into the Roil Spell Peirce Halimar Depths Scalding Tarn Tectonic Edge Preordain That is 18 cards to replace maindeck and 1 sideboard.
Spell Peirce is still tournament legal until the release of Innistrad, but I would drop the hellkites for more metamorphs. With metamorphs you can copy target artifact or creature. Also would drop the 2 frost breaths and put in 2 more snags. They may be tapped for 2 turns but having them recast it benefits you. Treasure Mage is a nice touch but you run into the same issue and that is drawing it. I may try it with the Treasure Mage's in there this weekend. here is my illusion deck. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=220409 most illusion decks will be similar
You have the Null Champion and mortician beetle in your deck that are cycling out as well. Are you waiting for Innistrad to find replacements?
well this deck is based on mill so Visions from Beyond would fit in. I would also have to see how long it would take to get 20 cards in the graveyard. The new set offers alot of graveyard options now. The elixir is going to be a lucky type of draw, then you will need to hold it until all of your goodies are in the graveyard. Unless you have a way to find them, cut them. If you are milling yourself as well as them, most likely elixir will be in the graveyard. With the infect, i would have corrupted resolve main boarded over negate. I totally agree with viral drake. steady progress is 3 mana proliferates and you get to draw a card. Unless you predict getting hit by creatures, steady progress seems to be the way to go.
Why not have forgemasters and more artifacts.
Innistrad has alot of Mill, discard cards in the set.
Grimoire of the Dead 4 Legendary Artifact Mythic Rare 1, {T}, Discard a card: Put a study counter on Grimoire of the Dead. {T}, Remove three study counters from Grimoire of the Dead and sacrifice it: Put all creature cards in all graveyards onto the battlefield under your control. They are black Zombies in addition to their other colors and types.
I wish i had the luck of that kind of draw. Closest thing i had was 2 packs in a row with Liege of the Tangle.
I see where your going with this deck but the Squadron Hawks are going to be phasing out soon. Sun Titan is an awesome card. But if your going blue/white you will prob want more control in this deck. With Innistrad coming out, I may make my illusion deck more of a blue/white control deck.
Here is my Illusion deck. I did notice however that there are a ton of illusion decks and people get pretty mad when they find out about the illusion rules. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=220409 I have a lot more counter and creature control in my deck to assist me with getting through to hit them. This may become a blue/white control once innistrad comes out.
Have a similar deck. With this type, you will need something to deal with artifacts and enchantments.
With infect you want this deck to go as fast as possible. With most infect decks you are dealing infect counters on turn 2 (turn 1 if your nasty). With other pump-ups (a giant growth, a groundswell using landfall and a Glistener Elf, that is 8 poison counters turn 2), the game should never get to turn 5-7. With infect, if you cannot kill someone by turn 4-5, then your probably going to lose. Drop the Flensermite for Glistener elves. Not quite sure what to drop but Mutagenic growth will work nice with infect.
Xenograft is good. But that will be more a late game thing. 4 colorless 1 U. He should have the lord out turn 2. if not then as soon as possible. Now if you had the mana accelleration as with grand Architect, then you may have that and a couple lords out by turn 4.
