Honestly vs burn a spell to a mana dork is better than to your face.
Also you are slowing your gameplan down a full turn just because you don't want your dork to get melted.

I dunno I always liked my dorks being bolted in that match up.

I feel everyone should still name this deck birthing pod at bigger level events for the luls.

If you're playing Haakon, I would look into the card:
Nameless inversion.

Basically a removal spell you can cast over and over again while haakon is in play.

I mean maybe if you take lilly and ugin out and add ral+tamiyo?
I would still like to have snapcaster, damnation and maybe cryptic or electrolyze in the deck.
I dunno not my deck but a few ideas.

Duress is bad, IoK or seize forsure.
Wrench mind doesn't fit in this deck...
its only really good in 8-rack or pox-rack

I would remove ugin and add in Ral zarek.
Ugin is just too slow.

Foresee and leyline are just too slow...
Leyline is too cute...

I agree with ral, but not tamiyo.
Too slow.

For ral I would remove ugin(too slow)

I would leave terminate to the sideboard and bring it in vs infect/combo etc.
Game one it would be better to just add more burn like rift bolt.
Post board maybe bring in removal.

Blackcleave cliffs is also a great land for this deck.

That list I posted was based on overall top 8 showings.

i'm really not a fan of abzan control at all... I think aggro is the better build for abzan

AS far as I am aware via overall top 8 showings the top 3 decks are:
1: esper dragons
2: abzan aggro
3: R/G aggro, RDW(almost exactly the same amount of showings, slightly in favour of R/G)

after that all the midrange decks start showing up.

I will give the atarka build some credit, that deck is much better.
Mono red, even piloted but Mono-red fanatics and other great players, mono red just isn't as scary in this format as a control player.

Angel's grace, not angel's mercy.
Basically you cast angels grace right at the end of their combo and it just makes them waste too much gas that it is basically game over.

Yeah firewalker is the nuts vs burn.
They can win through one, but 2 is just not possible.

It used to be a bad match up early on in this format.
After you get all the outs to the burn as long as you don't keep janky hands you're golden.

I have:
3 foul tongue maindeck 1 sideboard
2 radiant fountains
4 back waters.

While that lifegain is alright, post board we bring in more instant speed removal(in place of thoughseize, and a few slower spells.) You just answer threat for threat and red runs out of gas much sooner than you do.

I generally will take out:
Thoughtsieze
Dissolve
rest varies depending on the build(some use thunderbreaks etc so they're met with other hate)

Drown in sorrow
ultimate price
the last foul tongue
extra copies of bile blight

all come in, all of our 2-3 mana removal stays in, scorn is an all star in this match up, even without a dragon in had due to the amount of lands red.

For the most part the red decks will side out their token cards as they're too slow vs control which has more copies of bile blight and drown in sorrow post board. They bring in more burn/hasty creatures(or thunderbreaks, outpost sieges etc) you just gas them out, thats all you have to do.

Red is and ALWAYS is a massive part of my local meta game, its really not the deck to be scared of as U/B control.(as sets currently stand, after we lose theros maybe.)

You can lose to it, doesn't mean it's a bad match up.
Mono red is my best match up hands down.

Virulent Sliver is terrible...
Just so you know they don't gain infect, the only ever put 1 counter on at a time(unless there are 2 or more Virulent Sliver in play)
Radiant fountain should be extra copies of cavern of souls(which should be a 4 of.)
Virulent sliver should be 4 Aether vial.
Phantasmal image is a great card for these decks, also flanking from sidewinder sliver stacks(so multiple copies of it in play would proc it multiple times)

I strongly disagree with your aggro player section.
As a U/B control player between my 3-4 foul tongues, 4 back waters, X radiant fountains(i run 2).
Red aggro is kind of a joke.

Abzan aggro, is much harder to deal with, I am yet to drop a game to mono red, and thats even with them being on the play.

While aggro is typically the downfall of control, in this meta this is not the fact.
Our only BAD match ups seem to be:
Mardu dragons and maybe G/W if we let them get their engines online.

Hydroform is TERRIBLE.
Snapcaster Mage has negative synergy with elixer.
Academy ruins lets you get back elixers and mines.
Rites and mine should be 4 ofs

You need ways to not just get rekt'd by burn and combo...
Sideboard:
+4 kor firewalkers(great VS storm and burn)
angels grace is good vs storm.

Besides that everything looks good to me.

Not a big fan of the caryatids, besides that I am loving company in Modern, even in tribal decks it is a great addition.
