I was thinking for the actual creatures in the above deck, not the tourney one, sorry. magimaster could get life gain in his deck for cheap, and bounce his actual creatures back, like his geist monk

Well I would argue for burn being the best modern value. He has this under $20, so I was trying to keep it in that range. I wouldn't do the cards I suggested for a ptq or IQ, but budget decks really seem more casual\fun. Strionic is not a bad card, its fine as a 1 or 2 of in multiple decks if you have enough great triggers.

Like I said its good advice for keeping it under budget, looks like you may break it. Just helping with his theme, not tourney advice. Its cool if you have a different opinion

Its budget, so it would be a good way to double the cards I listed in my above post. Pretty sure I answered all your questions. ITS BUDGET! lol that lasndbase would be cheap enough for this ( no need for city of brass)

-3 plains, -1 guildgate +4 isolated chapel. -1 holy day, -3 captains call. +2 strionic resonator, +1 devoted invocation, +1 growing ranks.

The less one-of's you have and the more multiples you have will give you a higher chance of drawing cards you need. If this is rout you wanna go you may want to buy the modern event deck that just came out, even if just for the mana base

Try out strionic resonator, it can double doomed traveler, heist honored monk, catharsis crusade, even oblivion ring. It would fit the budget and add some combo capability

just went 4-0 last night at FNM, beat out nayaz walker, mono black devo, RDW, and RG monsters. Played a master of waves against Maya walker, then used strionic resonator to make 20 tokens!

Give them a phage, then use restoration angel to flicker it out, then when it comes into play from exile they lose

i hear ya on that, there is alot of three drops, id be comfortable with 24 myself. unless im running acurve at CMC 2, 24 is a good standard

man but there are alot of powerful cards at CMC 3 or under right now, its a tough call

Well c_smith, you have one of the more popular decks on the site right now. You did an awesome job with this combo, its rare to see good, original budget decks that work. only thing i would change is -3 enilghtend tutor, + 3 faithless looting, get some card draw in and make it modern legal
