I agree with you Panik8. Pretty nasty combo. What I meant above is that if you pay life Children of Korlis still works, it fixes any drop in total life.

So call me crazy, but i like mindshreiker in this deck, just to keep it aggro while stil mill'ing them. also really like spell snare, if you go play in modern events alot of the most powerful stuff you play will have killers with CMC 2, helpful stuff to counter

Ruling on children of koralis from gatherer:

"9/25/2006 The life you gain is based on the total of all changes where your life total went down during the turn, not the net downward change. So if you lose 5 life, gain 3 life, and then lose 2 more life before activating this ability, the ability causes you gain 7 life, not 4. "

Leaving me to assume anything that causes your life to decrease is loss of life

I feel a lot of decks do huge amounts of land-confidant damage to themselves, especially good teir one decks. Now if this is good or bad... Idk just hope I'm not playing burn lol

The oracle text with scapeshift states each land would trigger simultainiously, so they would all trigger valacut. its an odd rule but thats how it works, look up "magic online vlacut scapeshift" on youtube.

According to what ive seen on magic online, you are right Panik. The total life that has gone down from your life at the beginning of your turn. so in theory you can pay life than gain it back yes?

I love burn decks! i like Ball Lightning over elemental appeal, and would replace 3 thunderous wrath with 3 rift bolts. they are alot better, you dont want a thundertous wrath in your opening hand

maybe cut goblin cohort's for titans strength, itll sure speed things up. i like ragign gobling for another 1 drop with haste, if you can squezze a few in. very fun looking deck though
