Deck Description

Is EDH too expensive for you? Wanna play a fun deck that doesn't cost a fortune? Then allow me to introduce you to....Poor Man's EDH. For under $75 you can own a cool, powerful, and fun EDH deck that isn't too limited. This time, a Dimir control deck with a fun general! I love Dralnu's ability, it makes EDH games so intense! Everyone is forced to play so cautiously, and nobody can deny the more intense games always have the best of plays! Enjoy!

How to Play

Dralnu is a powerful Lich Lord with powerful magic at his disposal. After many years of mastering arcane arts, Dralnu has become a master of his craft and now wishes to uses these arts to take what he pleases. Lich's Deceit is all about using Dralnu's abilities to keep using powerful spells to enforce your will in-game. Winning the game is just a matter of denying everyone the option to win, and Dralnu knows how to deny people hope.

Dralnu has a powerful ability at his fingertips: the power to give his spells flashback! By tapping Dralnu, he gives his instants and sorceries in the graveyard flasback equal to their mana cost. This allows you to cast them once more from the grave, and exiles them afterward, which unlocks a game of control your opponents will never expect. With the ability to essentially play double the amount of instant and sorceries in your deck, you have double the advantage! The best part is the large amount of instants and sorceries in the deck, which are all game changers!

With all of your instants and sorceries, you still need creatures to win. Dralnu has aligned himself with physically and magical strong allies for this reason. Sage Owls helps find answers in times of crisis, Nekrataal slays a potential problem, Dungeon Geists lock up creatures, and that's just a few things Dralnu's allies can do. But when the battle nears an end, Dralnu calls upon the worst of the worst. Invisible Stalker is a powerful hexproof and unblockable creature, and when equipped with Runechanter's Pike, the Stalker becomes a silent assassin! Runechanter's Pike pumps up the Stalker for each instant and sorcery in the grave, and as we already pointed out, Dralnu knows plenty of instants and sorceries! With the Stalker on your team, cleaning up the battle is a simple task!

Dralnu's dreams and goals are a possible reality due to not only his spells, but a key part of his strategy: the element of surprise. Dralnu is always the wild card, trying to change everything when it's most effective. Dralnu knows many powerful counter and removal spells, but in order to prevail, he must use careful timing. Knowing when to act is most of the battle for this deck. As a deck full of counters, you will most likely be holding one or two at a time, but if you waste these, you might find yourself picking up your cards in defeat. Consider all the possibilities as the game progresses, take time for your turns to plan ahead, and never let your opponents stop guessing. If you can't scare them with all of your control, then intimidate with creatures or words. Bluffing is an art, and Dralnu is a master. But, if your opponents aren't paranoid about you possibly ruining their strategy, you can gurantee a big play from them. Just remain calm, keep a counter in hand, and always remember: A Lich is never afraid, for they are fear itself....
