Slippery Bogle and Gladecover scout are also heroes in a deck like this.

I just finished assembling an American Modern list. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! http://www.mtgvault.com/poliishpaniic/decks/uwr-geist/

I feel as if groundshaker sliver is too expensive for such a mediocre return. You could probably add some card draw or creature production in the form of any of the currently standard Garruks. Just to giver yourself a mid to late game if you get board wiped or something.

Thanks! I finally finished putting the deck together. Took FOREVER. It handles rather nicely now though.

I run it in an American Geist list, and it's like a Time Walk basically. Great in conjunction with mana leak too.

It's a fantastically brutal deck to play against. They literally board an answer to everything, and birthing pod allows them to tutor it right up.

Absolutely man. I can understand not adding blue, it's foolishly expensive for both Tarns and Misty rainforest, not to mention Cryptic Comman and Remand. You made a good argument for red, so I'd just hammer out that sideboard to be prepared for anything. I don't think you can have that many pyroclasms in the sideboard due to having three mainboard. You also might consider a card such as scavenging ooze for your sideboard. He's brilliant in most matchups.

Blood artist just seems too good not to be in the deck.

Remand is my favorite counterspell ever printed. Tempo counter numero uno!

The exact reason I stopped playing standard, it cost too much.

I totally know that feel. We'll keep it on the down low.

Olivia has the ability to take over the game by herself, where guttersnipe is dependent on drawing support cards. If you decide to use Guttersnipe you should try to make room for additional card draw outside of think twice. Consider opportunity, divination, and sign in blood. Opportunity is especially saucy because it's cheaper than a sphinx's rev for the same number of cards.

Also, if you're trying to make this modern competitive grab those scalding tarns and consider the card boomerang. This deck is all about stalling until you combo out.

Man. I despise scapeshift. That being said, why forsake blue? It gives you access to much needed counterspell! Scapeshift can live off of cards like remand and cryptic command that allow you to fly through your deck while keeping your opponent stifled.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with Birthing Pod decks, but it's by far the most efficient way to go infinite with persist cards. Use Melira, a sac outlet (usually viscera seer), and either finks or murderous red cap. Birthing Pod allows you to basically tutor up the creatures you need which gives it an edge over most other modern decks.

Blood artist works better in an Aristocrat type build with cards like Doomed Traveler, Lingering Souls, and Sorin.

I'd drop 2 Wraths for 2 more plains. The deck will be more consistent that way.
