Have you had any problems when you come against an opposing Leyline? Not too sure what black can bring to the table for enchantment removal but there may be a home in the sideboard for such a card.

8 rack was where I originally started from whichevolved into this deck, When I started to search for what discarded more than one card I came across Burning inquiry and then the brewing started :)

Will look into control decks and the best way to combat them, good thing I already have a playset of thoughtseize!

Thanks for the advice, being a bit new to the format I did not know affinity could hit for infect so quickly (I do try and do my research lol) will work on a sideboard tonight and try and get the deck updated :)

I haven't tested this deck out yet, I do have it proxied and will test it at my local store, I am not too bothered about the opponent having a hand as burning inquiry is the main discard engine for liliana's caress and burning inquiry forces them to draw three before the discard. Was staying away from thoughtseize as my draw engines (street wraith and probe) already force my own life total down. I imagine affinity would be a bad matchup which is why I thought of shattering spree ( can target the drums and other non creature artifacts). Control would be a bad matchup for me but blood moon (I think thats what it is called) appears to be an auto include in the sideboard. Zoo might be problematic as well as I run very little removal, might include some terminates to come in for the blightnings. The other card that will cause me problems is Leyline but reading burning inquiry and caress again neither target so that should not be too much problem.

These are my thoughts on the current big decks in Modern and I am only starting out in the format.

Thanks for the input :)

Would it be worth just keeping the blue splash in the sideboard to bring in on games 2-3? could bring in snapcaster and some bounce for simian spirit guide and Megrim/blightning.

Yep with burning inquiry also hitting myself I wanted some graveyard interaction. I have thought about splashing blue for snapcaster just in case one of my combo pieces gets binned.

For semi competitive legacy deck I think manaless dredge comes in around £150 (ot sure what that is in dollars) I swear if I ever get a big enough win off my football coupons I will get the deck!

If lifegain is the theme and you want to keep tormented hero I would add in Cruel feeding, triggers his heroic and gives him lifegain :)

With Nyx weaver fueling your graveyard would one or two copies of nighthowler not be an idea? You could swing for big damage then exile creatures to Pharika in your second main phase.

G/B are my favourite colours and a constellation deck has always tempted me :)

Okay, played about with the mana base, reduced the temple numbers to have more lands that come into play untapped, took out rift and moved to the sideboard, main decked anger and added in far//away for opportunity. Will rely on Jace for card draw. put in lightning strike for magma jet as the temples should provide enough scry. Would like to keep Notion thief as I feel it is an underused card that I would like to try out. think it looks ok now?

Thank for all your help and suggestions, had a look at your deck (gave it a like!) But struggled to think of where improvements can be made, will have another look and ponder some more :)

Adjustments made, for the side board I included more board wipes (mortars and anger) along with crypt incursion should help against aggro, against control I bring in notion thief and needle to hinder card draw and neuter their own planeswalkers, thoughts?

I had a look, I could side crypt incursion to follow a board wipe, maybe anger of the gods, that should give me enough of a cushion against aggro to get my planes walkers on

Thank you and good points all round, will sort the mana base tonight (not near my computer just now) and will look at some ways if life gain, I am sure there must be something in black! Will look into putting burn spells in the sideboard :)

Just want to throw my two cents in, it may be worthwhile keeping a Desecration Demon or two as it gives an excellent creature for your Artisan of Forms to copy. If you play an instant after blockers are declared it can even bypass the sacrifice and tap condition on the DD :)
