Protean hulkThats all you technically need to make this combo work on your opening hand... personally im not a fan of this combo, especially since protean hulk is banned.You only have to pay 2 for flashes mana cost, and since you dont pay protean hulks mana coat with flash it gets sacrificed as soon as it hits play.

It's just the protean hulk combo, ive seen quite a few of these. He drops out protean hulk on turn 1 with flash using lotus petals and spiritguides, so he doesnt even need a land, and he doesnt pay the extra cost for flash so he sacrifices protean hulk and searches his library for 4 disiple of the vaults, 4 shifting walls, and 4 phyrexian maraders he doesnt give the wall or the marader a power and toughness so they all die doing 32 loss of life to someone. Im pretty sure tho that protean hulk is banned in all formats, i could be wrong but i thought it was.

Yea i know of that strategy, its pretty neat i must say, but i dont have exquisite blood sadly, if i do come across one, i might throw that combo in. But what do you think of this deck as it is now?
Btw you should find room for isochron scepter, every instant you have cost 2 or less and that would really have the opponent sweating with counterspell or boomarang on it
Haha you'd kinda win by card draw, when ever you draw they lose a life... nd if thats the case, jaces erasure might be a neat thing to try
If you wanted an alternative win condition, psychosis crawler would do great in thia deck

Thanks :) and ya i could just tap to kill it, but also taking one damage isnt too big a deal. When this deck goes off they will be taking huge damage from me and i wont even have to attack

I appreciate the advice, thanks. You're right that this is pretty budget, i probably wont buy anything for it, ill try to get ehat i need thru some trades, so the land base will struggle til then. Blood moon is an interesting thought, ill look into it. Im thinking about getting talrand sky summoner from someone for thos deck too, thought that would clash pretty well with everything. At the moment im going to keep it at 34 lands and play test it to see where it stands on everything. 34 lands shouldnt be too rough to play with, i have some draw and cantrips to work with as well to help out. Ive always liked dash hopes, but im not sure i wanna run it in this deck... as for dark ritual, wouldnt be a bad idea, but its not a totally essential card to the deck and idk what id take out for it... any thoughts
I do have to agree, madcaps has proven to be a gamewinner in more situations than most every card in this ravnica set :p
Mizzium skin should give me a little help with protecting him from a target, and thats not too bad an idea for the madcap, i was just wondering.if adding the enchant creatures will undermind the spell heavy theme ya know? Thats why i wasnt sure about the pursuit aura too
Any suggestions of replacement? I would add more cyclonic rifts i just dont own any more sadly
Theres probably a good instant or sorcery i can put in for pursuit of flight, its just in there for right now til I find out what I'd want in it. its not a bad card either, either a 4/4 flying guttersnipe/goblin electromancer, a powerful flying nivmagus, or a powerful flying cyclops

Ascetisism will be extremely helpful, also infinite reflection is nice :p
haha it's always hard to cut cards, especially when you wanna use all of them. I would drop slave of bolas (cost too much and multiple colors) and the reins of power. Unless you're gonna have an awesome mana base I would drop fire field ogre too, its not good enough to sneak attack and 3 different colors is asking alot for him in this kind of deck. sedris is pretty neat but I would think about maybe ditching him, same reason as fire field ogre, 3 colors and he's only good if he stays in play, if you sneak attack him he'll be gone in a turn.Now that i think about it, you might be better dropping blue all together and sticking to black/red, those colors work well together with speed and thats what you want want for this deck. If you drop out blue it gives you wiggle room for other things you want like mimic vat or anything else.All just my opinions tho =p
