"Thoughtpick Rogues" ? Is that anything like the rogue build I came up with a while back?

Nether Traitor is awesome AND it's a Spirit :) [time to hunt down a set for my spirit bomb deck] This isn't exactly the final build I'll be running, I'll be trading for cards about 30min before the tournament starts, so hopefully I'll be able to find one or two Nether Traitors.
Well, my collection is very limited. I posted what I built out of what I have, you can take a look if you want (sadly I don't own any AEther Vial).
O.O I only now see the possible and reusable "combo" with Crucible of Worlds, Smokestack, Bloodghast and Blood Artist. Sac ghasts (and maybe a land) to stack, opponent loses life thanks to artist, then play a land from the grave thanks to Crucible.... I would run the whole deck(just twisted to better suit my play style), but (unfortunately) I don't have / can't get a lot of the cards (especially the lands) :'( I'm actually going to build a black splash white kill / discard / extract type deck with what I own when I get home tonight. I'll be sure to try add some of the ideas I see here :p
Honestly I have to agree that standard is boring, but since we have so many new~ish members and old members returning, standard is currently our biggest format. This is the only reason I made this standard. I prefer Modern and largely because I started shortly before Ravnica, so majority of my collection is Modern (ie I have few Legacy / Vintage cards). The Captain is a good idea, but I'm actually trying to stay away from tribal here. Return to Ravnica is just around the corner and if it's anything like the last Ravnica block, tribal isn't that greatly supported. I considered the Mogg Flunkies, but he doesn't give any friends :( Gather the Townsfolk is cool (I can't believe I forgot it :p ), but I've taken a liking to Midnight Haunting. So I may replace the Call with either one of those. Hellrider is f**'ing awesome, but he's a little pricy (mana wise), I already have 9 cards in the 4 mana group. It's a matter of mana and I like to keep this type of deck costing 3 or less (with a few key exceptions). The same could be said about Pyreheart Wolf, 3 mana for a 1/1 (even with his abilities) doesn't appeal to the style of play I'm going for here.
They do look like they'd work well together :) I'm just surprised no one else has thought of it yet :| Depending on what's available in Boros when Return to Ravnica comes out, I may use both in a Boros deck :p
I have to agree that the idea is interesting, well done :) Infernal Plunge is another option for mana boost.
Guardians' Pledge has worked wonders both offensively and defensively in my standard white weenie deck, so I think it'll work nicely here too. I find Mausoleum Guard casting cost to be too high for my liking.
Dispatch is an awesome removal spell for this type of deck.
Glad to be of help :) I like the idea of this and mite be using elements of it in my deck next time I play Legacy.
Thrumming Stone and Marrow-Gnawer. They are (in my opinion) must use cards in any Relentless Rats deck. Coat of Arms is redundant and a waste of a slot here.
Walking Archive would work well here, especially since you can pay to put more counters on it to multiply the 'Howling Mine' effect and because it triggers in each players upkeep, Paradox Haze can double the draw off of it. Ghostly Prison, Propaganda and Norn's Annex can help stop creatures from attacking you. Another creature that acts like Spore Frog is Kami of False Hope. Ethereal Haze is by far my favorite white "Fog" card. Reliquary Tower, Spellbook, Library of Leng, Graceful Adept and Venser's Journal can be nice in here too, they give you no maximum hand size. Wheel of Sun and Moon mite be nice in here too, it puts any cards that go to your graveyard from anywhere on the bottom of your library. Batwing Brume can't be played here as it has black in its mana cost.
You know what works awesomely with Birthing Pod? Creatures with Undying or Morbid.
Treacherous Pit-Dweller will be a problem, you don't have enough kill to reliably kill him when he goes to the opponent's side.
I've just attempted to add blue to my build and to make it more aggressive: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=362257 I've yet to test it though :| I downloaded cockatrice the other day, but my net connection on that PC is a capped 3G, and my cap only resets on the 21st again :(
This one guy I knew ran a Seizan, Perverter of Truth + Underworld Dreams deck. He used Kagemaro, First to Suffer for mass removal as he could just return his creatures to play. Best part, Kagemaro is a spirit :p
Mana is a concern, but I think I found a card that is (possibly) even better than Cower in Fear - Marsh Casualties. It costs BB, but only targets 1 player. On the up side, if you have 3 extra mana for some reason, you can kick it to give that player's creatures -2/-2 :p
Actually I've yet to test Nefarox (in any deck) as I currently don't own any copies of him. I'm intrigued to see how he's trigger for attacking alone will work.
Actually I've yet to play Duels of the Planeswalkers 2013. I pulled a lot of common and uncommon exalted cards at the M13 prerelease and thought I'd try making a deck around it for standard. I'm sure I could make a BW Modern deck based on exalted that'd work, let me think on that and get back to you :p
I've posted quite a few versions of Kokusho Nuke. Hell, it's one of the ways I win with my Dragonstorm deck :p The one I'm working on now is a modification of the Spirit tribal deck I made that had Kokusho Nuke as a win condition. I really tried to find something to suggest for this deck, but the only thing I can think of is to replace the Shrivel in the sideboard with Cower in Fear. it costs one B more, but it's an instant and only affect the opponent's creatures.
