well, speaking from a point of view on my boros deck, i wouldnt run anything that costs more than 4 to drop. boros is supposed to be fast, and if it takes 6 turns, and you're still not winning, there's a problem.

I need opinions on this deck, lol. I'd love to slow them down with blue, then when i hit a koth or a titan, start reaking havoc. >:D
And whoops, forgot, lol. My favorite card is probablyyy lotus cobra. Or jace the mindsculptor. Love them both, though the artwork on lotus cobra blows me away every time I see it. my two questions are; how long have you been playing? and what advice can you give a new player (such as myself) to make all around better decks? (: and finallly, my 3 favorite decks are; your pure evil, for obvious reasons. raggedjoe's boros. and it's not on this site, but a player at my local fnm made my alltime favorite deck, lol. blue green control. it was just too good xD

Just a question, when you bring out a stoneforge, which equipment do you seek out first?
alright, so, more tips. lol in a control deck, you will definitely need 24 land. if you look at the decks that won 2010 worlds, they all ran 26. so 24 is definitely needed. you have 11 counter spells. thats a lot. i'd drop 4 cancel, make stoic 2, and have 4 mana leak. this way you can add 2 more land, and get 4 spreading seas :D id ditch grasp of darkness, too. just run 4 doom blades. they're faster and just better, lol. id also ditch perish the thought. BUT, CREATURES; you will definitely want to go all out infect. and the best way to do this; just play creatures. i know, sounds weird, but hear me out; you have a hand of the praetors on the field, and play an ichor rats. they now get 2 poison counters, all because you played a creature. thats one fifth of your job done, in the means of getting them to 10 poison counters. so, all together, this is what i'd do; - 4 cancel - 3 grasp of darkness - 2 stoic rebuttle, - 2 perish the thought - 3 into the roil - 2 diabolic tutor (even though it'll seek out a card, it just screams "hey, i have something good in my hand! in control, you should be able to stall long enought to draw the anyway) andd -1 island and swamp. total taken out; 18 and i'd add; 1 mana leak 4 preordain 4 creeping tar pit (making your landbase 24) 4 hand of the praetors 4 ichor rats. and 1 spreading seas. putting in 18 more cards. (: if i think of anything else, ill let you know. and sorry i wrote you a novel, lol

the gears, are situational, but they've proved well worthy of keeping them in. and also the emerge unscathed are too good. lol, protection does way too much in standard, it's crazy. but i've yet to take this deck to any actual tournaments, just casual play. so i'm keeping all these comments in mind. thanks :D
I completely disagree that u/b isnt good in standard right now. you can check my u/b decklist. it does quite well, lol. mimic vat, as good as it seems, is a draw back. it SEEMS good, up until you draw it, without a creature, then just think "oh, damn.. that would have made for a nice sphinx right now." i say ditch both skithys, add 2 more sphinx, get 2 mistifying maze, ditch 2 darkslick, add 4 tar pit and either get some tectonic edges or some spreading seas. you'll need them. id round it to 2 duress, 2 inquisition. just because. lol some jace belerens for draw power are sweet. and i know this sounds funny, but you have WAY too much counter. plus 4 negates.. suck. i'd rather a deprive, even with the draw back.
I'm seriously considering the offchance that I don't draw into a big guy. that's where fauna shaman appeals to me. but when I think of putting her in the deck, she seems out of place. suggestions? note; stillllll considering removing the journeys fr 1 more angel and baloth. id really like opinions on this
id ditch the nighthawks, terastodon, and the apocolypse hydra. even though they're both good, they're irrelevant to the deck if you're running black, you could add ob nixilis, and bloodghasts. those two cards are nasty, lol. if you want a way to deal with planeswalker, sideboard vampire hexmages. :3 but honnestly, i'd go explore over search for tomorrow. the card advantage is nice. :D other than that, this deck seems fun :3 nice work
yeah, i was thinking on dropping 1 ruin ghost and 1 oracle anyways, but never got to it. may add 2 more khalni heart expiditions, theyre so good, lol. and yeah sure man, ill take a looksy

how cant you pay the kicker? its only an extra black, lol. you're running monoblack, you should easily afford that. and lilianna is cheappppp man. :P you can get 4 on ebay for like 10$. do whatever works, I'm just stating possible changes i'd make its your deck, ^.^
haha thanks :D glad you like it! :3 this deck is choosy sometimes, lol. it had it's bads moments, but it's usually fairly consitant. and i loveee the look on people face, when turn 4 admonition angel just destroys everything, lol i usually leave some fetchlands on the field, so if they drop anything with haste, or say a journey to nowhere, instantly pop the land, and exile what i wish :D
