Completely forgot about plague crafter so that is definitely a good shout. Far as protean hulk, I put it in there to just act as convenient reusable tutor. Pretty much every creature has some value they provide and you can help assemble a combo to win. It won't make me win on its own, but the potential recurring value even with the CMC seemed worth it.
If you throw in a vigean graftmage and a incubation Druid and maybe a sylvan safekeeper, boom infinite mana.
Ok, if you want sylvan safekeeper+incubation druid+vigean graftmage makes infinite mana off hulk. You also could use a gravecrawler and phyrexian alter to win with infinite etb or death triggers
