howl of the night pack!!!! make wolf tokens as well. seems like you would want to have a back up in case someone drops your gardener before you get the elementals out.

it's cool you thought of a ways to circumvent the destruction of this deck by your opponents. I also enjoy the fact its not the typical elf deck. its a wolf deck brought to you by elves. this gets a 'like'.

isochron won't trigger guttersnipe, sadly. pretty good burn deck though. ball lightning is so cool. never seen the firecat before though.

use black spells that give minuses to the power/toughness (there are many to choose from) wring flesh and bile blight for example, then get call to mind or mnemonic walls to get back those spells (call to mind is in extended, sadly). That can keep the board clear as well. plus you could lose some of the expensive stuff (money and mana).

Anyways that is good if you want to build the same on the cheap, which is the name of my game. I have been trying something similar using black/red (board clearing for my attacks) and I have been trying out flying only mono blue and blue/green. It works but it just isn't that fun as you would think it would be.

I'm just going on rulings from years ago.

think of it this way. You never finished paying for the spell. X must be paid to play this spell for it to have an effect. if you pay zero on X it is not resolved and it is discarded.

Like I said the rulings i got were from years before, and back then when disciple was a new card (mirrodin?) a zero toughness never entered play long enough to be considered 'in play'. We used to try what you are doing and it didn't work then. The game has changed so much since then. Hell I didn't even know mana burn was phased out. Back then, no. Today, no clue.

A creature with a power of zero isn't considered to be on the battlefield. so disciple won't trigger. I have been using those disciples since they were first printed to kill opponents and I have taken them to tournaments. I was told by judges that and X casting cost with 0 paid into is never put into play.

this runs pretty well. i think you should switch out some of the instants for sets of the charm, helix and martial glory.

try more burn spells instead of or in addition to the death's approach. Lose chandra and get the 2 drop incinerates or searing spears.

also that imp isn't cutting it. he works well with buff or auras. so you could cut the creatures and increase the auras. That could work. 3 creatures, 3 auras, 3 burns and one whatever.

This deck is an asshole. I have played against it. It will disrupt some of the best constructed decks. It may not win every time but you know for sure if your deck is any good.

glad to help. I tried to keep it in modern for you. obviously you get more options in legacy/vintage. This should run really quick. I went one step further and added in basilica screecher so I could extort if I had any unused mana. soooo brutal.

surgical extraction, duress, mire's toll, wrench mind, shrieking affliction. The list goes on. Nezumi shortfang is cool, i recently added that to my discard deck.

I guess avacyn of hope is who you are talking about, she is nice. Go for it. Use anything fun and big and have great secondary effects that fit your style is what you get to throw in this. Indestructibility doesn't prevent exile or removal so watch out. otherwise she is great.
The avenger is going to have a wasted ability unless played late game. You don't need much mana to run this and if its late game your opponent has you in a bad spot. There are better than the avenger out there especially in green.

Thanks,
I appreciate the question/comments. I will check out your stuff soon and see what you have.
