You would make an excellent englishman.

I much prefer it too. Nothing is so enjoyable as dragging your opponent through the metaphorical mud if you ask me. It is, however, nice to have the option to end things fast if they start to put up an actual fight.

Also, pudding just means dessert. Like how you call The Loo a toilet.

I mostly like this. I say mostly because there are, unfortunately, some glaring issues in my opinion. Firstly, you have multiple tutor/dig effects in a deck piloted by Maralen. I see very little need for anything of the sort. Why do you need to scry when you cannot draw? Secondly, while I understand the spirit/arcane scheme, I think Cranial Extraction will be wholly disappointing. Sadistic Sacrament, as Sure has explained to me, has the *potential* to be large enough to work as effective extraction in the size of EDH. What I took out of that is that is can also have the potential to flop. This is more of a heads up than an issue however…I still think it works for the deck. I must say it again though, Cranial Extraction should be replaced with something with a larger effect. The two that come to mind are Bitter Ordeal and Neverending Torment.

At first I was going to say that you have too few lands, and you very well still might. However, after a while I came to thinking about the importance of lands in a deck with Maralen as the general. It could be argued that the ability to find a land at any moment it is needed alleviates a great deal of its importance. I might have to test my design with a smaller land count and perhaps find the butter zone, so to speak.

SWN is a freak, however.

It takes me anywhere from a half hour to two hours in most occasions.

There is actually quite the amusing anecdote about Neverending Torment and its place in the deck. You see, SWN claimed that Extraction is impossible in the size, scope, and versatility of EDH. To which I replied, "Is that so?".

Now, he was of course 99% correct, which brought me great consternation, but I stubbornly prevailed. I proposed, what if instead of the typical surgeon's blade employed by most extraction methods, I go about things in a messy bludgeoning sort of affair.

That was where Neverending Torment came in. There is nothing pretty about the card, or what it does, but it does do the job.

I suppose you have a point. I will have to see how 2 Undiscovered Paradises work out. Thank you for commenting.

By the way, I recall you having an interest in my Maralen EDH. I recently posted it, but since I had made the placeholder so long ago it is shown as one of the first decks on my profile (listed on page 2). It is called "Fly Blackbird, Fly".

I did! It was admittedly hiding in plain sight. I still have many more of my decks to find among the boxes and nooks/crannies left in the wake of our move, but I was extraordinarily happy to have found this one.

You should consider that new enchantment Hag for this and your Nekusar builds.

I will admit, I have sold this deck (or at least a variant of it) in the past to buy my nephew his first car.

By slowing the game to a grinding lethargy, and then attacking with Lodestone Golem. There are some peculiar addenda to that, but for the most part that is how it wins.

Trying to say which is more boring, Lands vs. Lands or Glue vs. Glue, is like trying to compare filing one's teeth down to the gums or having one's fingernails pulled off. Granted, I play both Glue and Lands, so what does that make me?

I suppose that makes sense. Mirror matches of Glue are truly mind numbing, so putting some pressure on the opponent early could help.

I have found that with decks such as this, most of the diversity does, in fact, come in the form of the sideboard. I must admit, my fancy is tickled as to the usefulness of Slash Panther. Care to explain?
