Um, how exactly do you plan on playing this deck? Waaaay too many one-of's.
Yup. Cut the blue, and if you REALLY want counterspells, use Dash Hopes. And if you're playing a deck with echo destroy (destroy target creature and all creatures with the same name), make SURE not to ripple all of your rats at once. Easy as that. Subtlety is the name of the game with a deck like this.
Always sound advice. The fewer spells you have, the more predictable your deck will be, and the most consistent deck will usually win.
Why do you have Terramorphic Expanse in this deck? And why do you have 16 legendary lands?
And wolftamer is right. You should include more mana accelleration, and I would focus on including hydras that allow you to put more counters on them later. That way, you can have a little guy to fend off your opponents creatures and he'll grow as the game wears on.
I also have a Hydra deck. You might check it out to see if you get any ideas. http://mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=27957
Pretty cool, but I would add more creatures if it were me. Then again, I play 3+ player free for all.
BAAAhahahahaha. What a rediculous thing to do. But I like it.
I like it.
I like it. You might check out my Giant deck. It's entirely dedicated to dealing damage to each creature and player. I actually pulled out a 3-on-1 a couple months ago.
I can dig it. Quite clever, sir.
I like your Devoted Druid combo. Way more original than Quillspike.
But then again, you want Standard legal... Lame.
Timberwatch Elf + Mercy Killing is WAAAAAAAAY better than Immaculate Magistrate. Way better.
Nice
I like it. The only suggestion I would make is to penalize opponents for NOT playing spells as well. Or to add Isochron Scepter and Word of Command. Then you MAKE them kill themselves and they don;t even get to pick targets. Gross.
You ight want to look at Primordial Sage. It's a living Glimpse of Nature for [4][G][G] and you could have him out 3rd turn with this deck.
I personally would add more cards that allow you to draw cards when they come into play or add3 or 4 Coastal Piracy. I also agree with Puffermad. A deck that has one or two of each card it needs to handle many different situations will usually lose to a deck that focuses on controlling one aspect and having 3 or 4 of each card. Because this is a subtle aggro deck with a few ways to make creatures unblockable, I would reccomend losing your creature removal cards and focusing on doubling up on other abilities. What's the point of removing a player's creature if he can't use them?
I have a deck that's very similar you might want to check out... http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=27632
