I think cards like [[Faerie Impostor]] and [[Faerie Seer]] are too week to be worthy inclusions. [[Inquisition of Kozilek]], [[Thoughtseize]], and additional counter/kill spells seems like much better inclusions.

Honestly, I was also expecting to see [[Maelstrom Pulse]] xD I replaced it with Vraska, but given that I am already running 3 [[Abrupt Decay]] in the 75, it might be wise to switch one out for a [[Maelstrom Pulse]]. It's been a long time since I cast one, may have forgotten how good it feels to get a 2for1 with it.

Fair enough, it is afterall much too early to determine what works and what does not. The only other criticism I am able to muster is this question; how do you deal with GY hate in games 2&3. Or rather, as that is in fact the purpose of [[Cindervines]], do you think that 3 pieces of GY-hate hate is sufficient in today's metagame?

I am in the process of gathering data on the Treefolk, though its role is not to be underestimated. As the ideal condition this deck wants to find itself in is one of dredging a [[Golgari Brownscale]], making a land drop, and working towards... something. What that something is depends entirely on the matchup, be it a [[Spore Frog]] lock, a [[Crypt Rats]] wipe, or a [[Wickerbough Elder]]. In each case however, it is crucial to keep hitting land drops *while* dredging. And [[Tilling Treefolk]] is the best card to facilitate that.

I might get back to this dilemma in a few months when the metagames goes stale for a while again. Perhaps [[Thrull Surgeon]] might move into the SB.

Hmm, the fact that all the cards are present in the form of a playset either indicates a first rough draft or extensive knowledge and testing. Which is it?
Also, what do you think of [[Ruination Rioter]]? I honestly haven't thought about it too much as my interests lie predominantly in Golgari Loam Pox, since [[Barren Moor]] and [[Nether Spirit]] entered this wonderful format.

Thanks for the comment first of all. Secondly, as for the cards;
[[Basking Rootwalla]] is often thought of as very strong in TE decks, though I think that analysis is partially wrong. I think it's just strong seeing as how it is a mana dump in a deck that almost always wants to use all it's mana to fuel it's namesake card. Another issue is that it is not good against any of the top decks in the current meta. The top 6 best decks either don't care about it, or fly right over it.

[[Brain Gorgers]] are just a worse [[Arrogant Wurm]], which is a phenomenal card as it is both a threat that, combined with [[Fume Spitter]] threatens even the biggest creatures in the format, and running just 1 makes it so that, if it enters play game 1, your opponent might spend the entirety of games 2 and 3 playing around Wurms that aren't even in your deck. But I don't run it because it is too linear if that makes an sense. Every card I run is good for a variety of reasons, or is an absolutely necessary component of the deck's engine.

Though, what would you cut for it?

I don't think a playset of the sanitarium is a wise choice seeing as how it is in fact legendary. And though it is indeed the case that you want one every game, it is also the case that half your deck draws cards, and that you will get one no matter how hard you try not to even if you run 3 or 2.

Other than that, do you think going into another color would be better than running cards like Trickster, and Unsubstantiate, and Unsummon?

Honestly, the monkeys worry me the most, I have seen then break the legs of antelope's without even using both arms! Got anything else besides the plunger for me? A hydraulic press maybe? A spare antelope to distract them? I mean chimps can rip out your penis! The muscles that anchor it to your body are made of bloody iron. How does anyone 5-0 a GP with just a plunger? Well... this sure as hell is what blue ought to be. I've been searching for a mono blue modern deck since Probe got banned and I was left without mono blue Delver. This might very well replace it as soon as I leave the gas station without paying enough times.

Seems more midrange than control tbh, with Thieves and pirates and all.
Not really sure what to suggest so I'll ask something instead; how does this plan to beat the more effective midrange decks such as Gruul, and how about mono Red? And why not go all in on thieves?
